Apparently, establishing a sanctuary on a home planet counts towards the conquest bonus, so the goal becomes to hack every single home planet on the map. In this case, it seems to be imperative that you either remain hidden from factions, or that you get on friendly terms, as either seem to cause the AI to ignore Sanctuaries. As long as you keep on top of your cloaking, don't get traced, or get in a battle with pirates over a faction's system (because they'll have proper detectors far before anyone else does), you can steal the galaxy from under the other factions without them even knowing you were ever there.
You just need to hack the special node just like how you hack anything else, and once it finishes, you get the option to place a Hacking Beacon. You can do this without any additional tech; you really just need to hack it.

Is more or less a nosense as sanctuaries count towards overcolonization resulting in heavy, but manageable approval drops, while I would not recommend fed either, it's mostly because you can deal with the approval easily on your single system rather than that there would be zero benefit to it.
Since I usually play on the serious difficulty there is some room to try different strategies even goofy starts. Since yesterday I’m trying to work a strategy out using a cloaked carrier bomber with a high chance of crit modules with few defensive ships. While this is happening, another lane I’m spamming rockets with the protection of boarding modules using Strafing Gun card.
btw whats the best ship design u d create for uc ?
full projectile with the ambush module and short short short battle card
+ energy shield and projectile dmg buffer ?
I would rate them 8/10 Espacially when many faction can outgun UC in space battle. You could find a room to ambush with the help of sanctuary links. Thank you
