How to resize the window size of mirrored display to gain performance
Just use this in launch options
-ResX=640 -ResY=480 -windowed

How to:
Right click on contractors VR
Properties
Set launch options
Paste this into launch options:
-ResX=640 -ResY=480 -windowed
Change res to your desired res
Close and save.
Next time you launch game it will be small window and then fullscreen, you can alt+enter to make it windowed if you wait a bit.

As Dirty Techno says, this will do nothing for performance. It's a copy of the already existing frame buffer.

Even if it did work, would get a bigger benefit by just disabling the video output, which can be done in the game settings

That said, this is a useful thing to know if you want to e.g. record at 1080p on a higher resolution display

Yes, it still works. These set of launch options should work universally across all applications ran natively on Windows, without the use of a compatibility layer.

My bad i did some more research and you have to alt+enter after you wait for game to launch and go fullscreen

I must be dumb, because I did this and game still launches a full screen, non windowed mirror display
