[4.9] Save Some Time. An Advanced Guide to Shortcuts, Grabs, and Skips
By kuli
After clocking a couple thousand hours on Vermintide 2's highest difficulties, I felt like sharing my map knowledge and thought it would be nice to have a convenient guide to shed some light on all the useful shortcuts, grabs or skips that have become part of my map routines. I prefer steady map progression without spending too much time in a certain area if I don't have to. This guide is not about speedrunning, though.

I tried to be as accurate as possible with the screenshot editing and the placements of arrows (click on images to enlarge). On occasions where there are several ways to get something done, I decided to depict the most convenient one. The guide is not considered to be complete.

Anyway, in this guide you will find mostly time-efficient shenanigans of any kind like:
  • shortcuts
  • useful jumps
  • quick item grabs
  • tiny section skips
  • alternative routes
You will not find safe spots, glitches or skips that are exploitative in nature.

All presented features are viable as of game version: 4.9

Act 1. Righteous Stand
Location: right after the starting area

A little shortcut over high ground. Easy jump and walk.

Location: elevator

After you have defeated the second spawn wave of enemies in the holdout event, the second portcullis is already low enough for you to enter the elevator with a few quick jumps. But be careful as mobs left in the arena will catch up on you after the elevator.

Location: first grimoire

You can skip walking up and dropping down to get the grimoire. Jump on the bedpost and then towards the boxes with the grimoire on top. You grab it mid-air while jumping in the direction of the grimoire. This requires a very well timed grab. Note that you shouldn't aim directly at the grimoire but slighty above it in order to be able to grab it.

Location: right after first grimoire

Shortcut to the stairs leading up. Jump on the wooden stool, then onto the tiny forge-thingy and over the furniture to take a shortcut to the stairs leading to the upper floor.

Location: cannon

You can jump over the gap to reach the switch and rotate the cannon quickly.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard.

Location: second grimoire [#1]

You can skip the entire jump puzzle and climbing up the ladder. Grab the grimoire from underneath instead.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Warrior Priest (Hammer & Book dash), Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Use your ult to get to the wooden platform (BW has only a very small area to flamewalk to), then move up the incline to the highest elevation, jump forward and grab the grimoire from underneath while mid-air. This requires a well timed grab.

Location: second grimoire [#2]

Alternatively to the ultimate shortcut (see above) you can skip at least the jump puzzle by getting directly across here.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Battle Wizard and Slayer.
Act 1. Convocation of Decay
Location: button puzzle

My routine here is: Hit the correct button first that you can see when you leave the elevator. Then you have a 50:50 chance of getting the next button right. If you do get the next button right with the second press, you now know which one is the last. If you don't get the next button right with the second press, you still know the correct order now. Open the wrong gates accordingly to get the grimoire and always communicate with your team when two of the three upper gates are already open.

Location: second tome

You can grab the tome through the wall.

Location: patrol alley

Shortcut so that you don't have to switch sides. One strafe-jump is required to get around the iron fence. This can be done in both directions.
Act 1. Hunger in the Dark
Location: ladder after starting area

Instead of climbing down regularly, you can go for a controlled fall. Jump straight down the shaft but touch only the last step of the ladder in order to avoid fall damage.

Location: dropdown to the mine cart

You can get back up.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ult of Battle Wizard. Utilizing the Burnout talent for the two needed flamewalks in quick succession is strongly advised. From one of the two wooden cart barriers, use ult to get onto the torch. From the torch, use ult again to get back up.

Location: beginning of the dark section

Alternative route. You can enter the dark section through the right mining tunnel. Might come in handy when facing a Blightstormer's vortex.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Walk up the left wall of the mining tunnel to the highest elevation possible. Use ult to get across, drop down and proceed through the tunnel into the dark section.

Location: second tome

In the dark section, you can jump over a blockade to get directly to the second tome. After the railway switch where you lift a barrier for the cart, turn left into the tunnel. Just jump on the blockade and move over it to grab the tome.

Location: third tome

Standing on the stalagmites, you can grab the tome directly from underneath while jumping.
Act 1. Halescourge
Location: first tome

Fastest route down to the first tome. Jump on the box and onto the balustrade. Drop down to the arc and down once more to get the tome.

Location: broken bridge

You can jump back over the gap at any time.
Note: (Green) Only Slayer and Battle Wizard can get to the other side from the opposite direction. Standing on the balustrade, move the marker to the far right side and use ult.

Location: dropdown in front of sliding houses

Shortcut. You can jump directly to the other side to proceed.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Jump on the little wooden bench and on the balustrade. From there, jump/use ult to get to the other side.

Location: first grimoire/sliding houses

You can get back up (in case you went underneath and have to revive a team mate).
Act 2. Athel Yenlui
Location: dropdown after the dry riverbed

You can get back up. Walk on the ledge on the right side and simply jump down.

Location: first tome

You can jump from the base of the tree directly to the ledge skipping a little distance to grab the first tome.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Walk up the tree to the highest elevation possible, aim in the direction of the little tree/bush and ult. It's a tricky forward jump while ult-ing for Zealot and Handmaiden. Slayer and BW can wiggle a bit while holding down the ult button to get the marker up there.

Location: switches for second grimoire

You can jump from one side to the other which allows you to hit two of the three switches in quick succession.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Warrior Priest (Hammer & Book dash), Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard (BW can do this in both directions).

Location: last dropdown before map finale

You can get to the previous area. Just walk over the rubble and the overgrown wall. Then jump to the other side.
Act 2. The Screaming Bell
Location: first grimoire

You can jump directly to the location of the first grimoire.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Slayer and Battle Wizard. (Green) Slayer and BW need to stand on the wooden box aiming at the far left side of the arc. It can take a little wiggeling while holding down the ult button in order to move the marker up there. (Yellow) Zealot needs to get up on top of the left edge of the burning cart. From there, aim straight to the right side of the arc (but avoid hitting the wall of the right house) and use ult. The momentum gain should be enough to get you exactly on the arc.

Location: dropdown to market & plaza area

You can jump directly up to the plaza.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ult of Slayer. (1) Standing on top of the dropdown, move to the left-ish side and stay close to the forward edge but be aware of the collision with the corner of the building. (2) Move your ult marker into the tunnel keeping it at the backside of the tunnel wall, then jump. Slayer's jumping arc, if the marker is placed correctly, allows you to land on the edge of the plaza.

Location: second tome

You can skip the regular jump puzzle on top of the market stands to fetch the second tome.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden and Battle Wizard. From the wooden showcase, jump into the leafless tree. Move or jump up a little bit in the branches to get the highest elevation possible. Then jump/use ult to get on the market stand to grab the tome. Warrior Priest (Hammer & Book dash) requires a forward jump dash and crouching to get onto the stand.

Location: market/second tome

Alternative route to the plaza. Pretty much explains itself. Might come in handy when the usual way is blocked (blightstormer's vortex, triggered patrol, etc.)

Location: plaza

You can get directly on the plaza. One jump is needed (because of wall collision).

Location: dropdown in front of third tome

You can get back up. Jump on the broken drawbar of the carriage and across to the wooden thingy that sticks out from the roof of the other toppled carriage. Jump left-ish to get on the toppled carriage.

Location: third tome

You can get to the third tome directly instead of having to walk around the corner first (where you might encounter a miniboss or patrol right in your face).
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Get on top of the cart and jump/ult across the street. Proceed on the ledge to the location of the tome.
Act 2. Fort Brachsenbrücke
Location: bridge area right after spawn

You can get on the bridge and move forward from there skipping everything underneath. (1) While leaving the spawn area, drop down on the rocks on the left side and jump around the corner. Cling closely to the wall to avoid sliding down. Jump up from the lower ledge to the higher one and take another jump along the wall. From the last rock, jump to the bridge. (2) Walk on the bridge to the carriages blocking the way. On the right side, jump around to proceed.

Location: waterfall at the end of the stream

This is not a dead end. On the right side, jump on the rock that sticks out. Then jump up the wall and out of the stream bed.

Location: slope leading up to the bridge after first tome

If you happen to get the map section where the covered bridge is closed you can take a shortcut to the stone bridge without having to walk up the slope. Only one crouch-jump is needed to spare you quite the walk and possibly a lot of ambient enemies.

Location: dropdown to choke point

You can get back up there with a simple jump on the left side.

Location: second tome [#1]

You can skip the entire jump puzzle.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. After leaving the tunnel, get on the rocks left to the exit. From the farthest one, jump/use ult to get to the location of the second tome.

Location: second tome [#2]

You can skip half of the jump puzzle by starting on the toppled carriage.

Location: first grimoire

You can get directly up to the grimoire.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ult of Battle Wizard. Utilizing the Burnout talent for the two needed flamewalks in quick succession is strongly advised. Standing on the rock with the bushes, use ult to flamewalk up onto the other side. From there, use ult again to get to the opposite side up top and grab the grimoire.

Location: ammo box before the cave entrance

You can get directly up to the ammo item without having to go around. It's a fixed spawn.
Act 2. Into the Nest
Location: dropdown near first tome

You can get back up to the ledge that leads to the first tome.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Warrior Priest (Hammer & Book dash), Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. A strafe-jump is needed for the first jump. The spot you land on is rather small but you can stand there. From there, use your ult to get to the ledge.

Location: entrance to third tome area

For the fastest route to the third tome, drop down to the wooden scaffolding and down once more to the platform leading to the tome.

Location: entrance to pit area

Instead of going down the stairs you can enter the area over high ground.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. From the top of the stairs, use your ult to get across.

Location: dropdown in front of ogre cages

Alternative route. You can avoid the cage segment.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Jump on the little wooden bollard, then jump/use ult to get to the other side. From the little wooden bollard in the corner, jump up to the next level and proceed.

Location: ogre cages

You can go back to the previous area.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Jump on the cage corner and onto the torch, aim at the far left side of the opposite ledge and jump/use ult.
Act 3. Against the Grain
Location: first grimoire

Quick and easy: from the pushcart, jump right into the front yard instead of walking around the fence.

Location: second grimoire

You can jump up that ledge to directly enter the area of the second grimoire and look for the key. For the first jump, make sure to walk up against the ledge while holding down W and then hit jump. Then simply move up on the right side.

Location: second tome

Just jump and grab the tome on the roof right from underneath.
Note: This can also be done by the Dwarf. You'll have to time the grab well on the highest point of your jump.

Location: barn after scripted boss fight [#1]

You don't have to use the ladder. Jump up the rubble and on the chair. From there, jump to the left side to get up the ledge and proceed up the stairs.

Location: barn after scripted boss fight [#2]

You don't have to walk over the wooden beams. Just jump from the top of the ladder to the other side. It can be done in both directions.

Location: third tome

You don't have to walk across the whole tree to get back up top. Half way across the trunk, simply crouch-jump to the broken off edge of the street.

Location: the last four cages

Instead of dropping down to the lower two cages, you can jump across on the right side to the upper two cages. It's a tiny bit like a strafe-jump: Face towards the upper cages while jumping foward but turn your mouse to the right when you're far enough to get the momentum needed to land on the ledge. This can be done in both directions.
Act 3. Empire in Flames
Location: first dropdown after spawn

Take a quick turn over high ground and skip going inbetween the carriages.

Location: inside the house before the second dropdown

You can jump over the rubble on both sides.

Location: first tome

Before dropping down to the street that leads to the area of the first tome, you can take a shortcut over the ruined building on the right to grab the first tome.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Warrior Priest (Hammer & Book dash), Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard (finding the right spot to flamewalk to can be a little bit tricky, though).

Location: dropdown in front of wine cellar

You can skip the wine cellar.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Warrior Priest (Hammer & Book dash), Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Instead of dropping down into the cellar, jump on the stakes next to the impaled body. Jump/use your ult to get into the open door and proceed through the house. From the upper floor, just drop down to the other side.
Note: There's a monster trigger near this area, you might spawn one doing this.

Location: second grimoire/map event

You can spare yourself the effort of getting the tedious barrel that spawns down in the cellar during the map event. (1) In the second house on the left that you can enter, right before the area of the second grimoire, there is a fixed barrel spawn location (you can get lucky and get two barrels, as pictured). (2) Take a barrel with you and throw it over the wall. Load it into the cart when starting the finale and enjoy a quick 1/3 barrels.
Note that there is always at least 1 explosive barrel in that area for the Powder Monkey challenge.

Location: map event

You can jump over these boxes in order to enter directly the area where the barrel loading finale takes place. This jump especially comes in handy when you bring a barrel with you to the finale (see above) because it should keep you at a distance to ambient enemies in front of baron's manor. Don't risk a hit while carrying a barrel. (1) A few easy jumps onto the boxes. (2) You need to crouch-jump on the last box (facing it from its left side) before being able to jump over the fence.

Location: map event; barrel on balcony

You can pick up the barrel from underneath without having to go into the house. Standing underneath the balcony and facing the direction in which the cart has to be pushed, jump and grab the barrel through the tiny gap. You should see the white barrel outlines and need to put your crosshair directly on it. Pickup tolerance is low.

Location: map event; barrel on tavern first floor

You can pick up the barrel from underneath without having to go into the tavern. Jump into the window frame. Jump again, manage your movement input accordingly to stay close to the wall and get high enough for a quick grab. While doing so, put your crosshair directly on the barrel in order to be able to pick it up. Pickup tolerance is low.

Location: third tome [#1]

Shortcut for entering the house where the third tome is located. From the top of the stairs, drop down to the ledge. Jump on the middle wooden beam that sticks out from the rubble and onto the roof. Walk over the roof and drop inside the tome building.

Location: third tome [#2]

Jump over the wall to be quicker at the third tome either for grabbing it yourself or opening the door for a team mate.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard.
Act 3. Festering Ground
Location: first tome

Alternative jump to the first tome. Walking on the ledge next to the wall, move forward and jump around the corner in a tight angle. This can be done with or without crouching, it's all about timing.
Note: This can be done at the opposite side of the staircase as well which tends to be a bit easier because of different (?) wall collision.

Location: second tome

You can jump directly from the bridge to the second tome. (1) All it takes is one well timed jump. (2) Jumping off of one spot in the highlighted area should let you land on the nearest edge of the wooden plateau (X marks the landing spot you should aim for).

Location: area between second tome and second grimoire

Don't take the high road, be quicker instead. (1) When you enter this randomly alternating section of Festering Ground and you happen to get the high road, skip the bridge and the following walk around. (2) Drop down and head directly to the second grimoire area.
Note: Doing this, you could miss a health item spawn up top (where you regularly would have dropped down).

Location: second grimoire

Alternative jump to get the second grimoire. (1) Standing on the highlighted spot makes things easier but you can jump directly from the wooden runway, too. (2) Jump ahead.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard (as BW you can do this only from the runway).

Location: area after the third tome

You can grab this healing item directly from underneath. It's a fixed spawn.

Location: the third cluster of Nurgle's bubbles (finale)

Don't put yourself behind, pop this burboe of Nurgle real quick. (1) There's always one bubble at the backside of the cave. (2) You can shoot it throug a little gap, instead of walking around and behind.
Act 3. The War Camp
Location: first tome

You can grab this through the wall while passing by.

Location: dropdown after first tome

You can get back up.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Jump on the rock. Standing on its edge, aim at the far right side of the ledge and jump/use ult.

Location: dropdown after second tome

You can get back up.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Slayer and Battle Wizard. Jump on the tree stump and to the rock. From there, jump into the tree and use ult to get onto the ledge.

Location: before the battering ram

Quick jump. You can jump up here to move on quickly afer getting supply items from the box.

Location: battering ram

You can get back to the previous area. From the top of the tower, jump down on the pointy beams of the tent. Walk from one side to the other and jump across to the ledge.

Location: before the bonfire area (inside the camp)

You can walk on the palisade trenches to quickly check the boxes for a random loot dice.
Act 4. The Skittergate
Location: first grimoire

You can grab the grimoire from underneath while jumping.

Location: area after the gate

Shortcut. Only a few jumps needed.

Location: second tome

You can skip jumping all over the ice shelves outside. (1) Still in the ice cave, exit the cave through the opening on the left side. Two jumps should get you up there. (2) Just drop down directly on the ice shelf to get the tome.

Location: last dropdown before Gatekeeper Naglfahr's arena

You can get back up. A series of simple jumps is all that's needed. When on top, just walk back a little and drop down.

Location: third tome

You can get directly back up without having to walk around again.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. BW has to do it from ground level aiming a little bit more to left side of the ledge (near the bottom of the screenshot).

Location: trenches before the gate

Shortcut. You can leave the trenches at the third regulator and go immediately for the skittergate. Note: You will miss the ammo box and healing items before the boss fight (you can go back and drop down into the trenches, though).
DLC 1. The Pit
Location: starting area/coast

There is an alternative route to enter the town. It's faster and lets you skip the open area on the other side. Climb up the ladder, walk to the right and drop down.

Location: before entering the fish market

In the house on the right, there is a healing potion on the first floor. It's a fixed spawn. You can grab the healing item from underneath outside.

Location: first tome

There is a random chance for an explosive barrel to spawn here (location circled). Jump around the corner and grab it before getting the tome. Take it directly with you to the location of the first grimoire instead of getting the regular 'grim barrel'.

Location: first tome

Shortcut. Jump over the rocks to get to the stairs and back up more quickly.

Location: second grimoire

Skip the regular jump puzzle for a much shorter one.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Jump/use ult for the last jump to the scaffolding and grab the grimoire from underneath.

Location: after the second grimoire

You can get back up there. A tight strafe-jump around the corner is needed. Alternatively, you can crouch-walk around the corner in a tight angle.
DLC 1. The Blightreaper
Location: first brazier

You can jump up here to move on.

Location: second grimoire

You can skip climbing up the scaffolding and jumping down.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Slayer and Battle Wizard. From street level, use ult to get on the wall and grab it. As Slayer, this requires you to move the ult marker behind the wall in order to be able to land on top of it.
DLC 2. Horn of Magnus
Location: pigsties area

You can take a direct route from the pigsties to the small stone bridge.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Warrior Priest (Hammer & Book dash), Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Use ult for the first jump. Then jump on the lamp post and to the well, then to the shed.

Location: right after the pigsties area

Shortcut. You can take an alternative route avoiding the small stone bridge.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. There is a miniboss trigger near this area, you might spawn one doing this.

Location: third tome

You can grab it from underneath while jumping. It might be counter-intuitive but don't aim directly at the tome; aim a little bit above it in order to be able to grab it.

Location: second grimoire

You can grab it while jumping. Take one step back from the gate, aim at the skull ornament, jump and you should be able to grab it.

Location: map finale

You can grab the healing items from underneath at any time.
DLC 2. Garden of Morr
Location: leaving the first mortuary house

Just drop down instead of fighting your way through the house.

Location: next to the Bed of Roses

Quick crouch-jump from the loose brick to get up this ledge.

Location: open graveyard area (old tome location)

You can enter the open area by jumping off of the little hedge and over the fence.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. A well timed ult-jump is needed for Zealot and Handmaiden. BW's ult has to be aimed quite a bit to the left.

Location: first grimoire

You don't have to walk all the way around after picking up the grimoire. Get back over the wall instead.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Slayer and Battle Wizard. Standing on the coffin, use your ult to get right back on the wall you had to climb to get in this area in the first place.

Location: dropdown before second tome

From the small ledge, you can jump across to walk on the ruined vault construction in order to skip dropping down to the floor. As you can do this jump in both directions, you can use this way to get back up the dropdown.

Location: second tome

You can grab it from underneath.

Location: area after second tome

Shortcut. Walk around the corner, drop down to the open area and head directly to the crypt.

Location: dropdown after second tome

You can get to the previous area.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. (Yellow) From the mausoleum rooftop, Zealot, Slayer and BW jump/use ult to get back to the ledge. (Green) Because of Handmaiden's shorter dash range, she has to jump into the tree first. From there, jump and use ult to get back to the ledge.

Location: second grimoire

You can grab it from underneath.

Location: right before the third tome area

Shortcut. Jump on the tombstones and onto the ledge leading up. From there, jump over the fence. Either turn right to get the third tome or turn left to head directly to the hedge maze.

Location: hedge maze

You can get on top of some of the inner hedges in the maze. This might come in handy when you're fighting a Stormfiend in this area because it likes to climb all over the place. Stay on top and spam it down.
DLC 2. Engines of War
Location: before entering the big cave

This little stream can quickly become a death trap, know a few ways out.

Location: first grimoire

Skip walking through the tower to get the grimoire.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ult of Battle Wizard. Standing in the bush with the red/orange leaves, jump on the far right end of the hollow tree. Get the highest elevation possible and use ult to get directly up to the platform.

Location: second grimoire [#1]

Skip walking around by getting directly on the tree to get outside for the grimoire.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Slayer and Battle Wizard (Green) BW uses ult from ground level to get on the tree. (Yellow) Slayer ults from the little stairs to the ledge and then jumps regularly to the tree.

Location: second grimoire [#2]

Skip walking around by getting directly on the tree to get outside for the grimoire.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot and Handmaiden. (Green) From the top of the little stairs, Handmaiden jumps and uses ult in mid-air. Aim to the left-ish side of the tree/window to avoid hitting the branch. (Yellow) Zealot does the exact same thing but from a little further behind. In any case, this requires very good timing and choice of angle in order to manage your momentum gain and to actually hit the sweet spot.

Location: slope leading down to Mother Black

Shortcut. Just jump over the fence to skip walking down the slope.

Location: before the map finale

You can get back up there.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Slayer and Battle Wizard. With a few simple jumps over the rocks on the right side, you get to the ledge from where you can use ult.
DLC 3. Dark Omens
Location: first tome

Alternative route to get the first tome. Instead of walking to it from the far left side of the area, three simple jumps get you up there, too.

Location: dropdown before crossing the chasm over the tree

You can get back up there. One simple jump. It's the same way you have to go back when doing the Dark Tongue II challenge after activating the last rune to enter the Beastmen cave.

Location: second grimoire

You can take a direct path to get the grimoire.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. When entering the wide open area, walk to the highest elevation possible on the left side and jump/use ult. Then proceed to the location of the grimoire with two simple jumps.

Location: ravine area near second grimoire

There is an early way out.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. At the bifurcation, walk up against the rock for the highest elevation and jump/use ult to get out of the ravine.

Location: third tome

You can get straight up to the location of the tome without having to walk up the slope and dropping down.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ult of Battle Wizard. With a crouch-jump, get on the rock on the opposite side. From the highest elevation possible, use ult to get to the tome location.
DLC 4. Old Haunts
Location: paddocks after starting area

Fastest route to the first grimoire and/or overall fastest route to navigate through the village. Jump on the vats and over the fence. Move up the stairs and proceed to the water wheel area.
Note that you won't come by the first tome this way.

Location: first tome

You can grab it from underneath. Standing on the balustrade, jump and grab it. It requires an adjusted angle when doing it as Dwarf.

Location: second tome

You can get directly to the location of the tome.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ult of Battle Wizard. From the trail, jump against and up the wall. Turn around and jump to the highest elevation possible on the opposite rock. Move the teleport marker up to the tome location on the left-ish side of the ledge and use ult.

Location: second grimoire area

Two alternative routes that spare you some walking to the far left side of the area. (Yellow) Three simple jumps close to the wall and around the corner so that you don't have to go down in this area. (Green) You can move/jump up the little waterfall at any time if needed.

Location: second grimoire

Alternative route to the second grimoire in case you proceeded that far already and would have to backtrack for the grimoire. The healing item up there is also a fixed spawn.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. From the round boulder, jump on the cage. Then use ult to get across to the ledge and proceed to the grimoire on the spire.

Location: last dropdown before approaching the crypt site

You can get to the previous area.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Slayer and Battle Wizard. (1) You have to stand somewhere in the highlighted area on the rocks on the right side. (2) Move your ult marker so that it gets behind that wooden pillar and use ult.

Location: blood well after the gargoyle event

Fastest route through the buboe area that lets you skip quite some turns and buboes. (1) Immediately after dropping down in this area, jump on the first buboe on the left side and over the roots. (2) Walk past the chest, turn right and proceed to the spiral stairs.
Note: You can still jump over the roots in (1) even when the buboe was destroyed.
DLC 4. Blood in the Darkness
Location: big cave

Shortcut. You can take the direct way down and proceed.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Slayer and Battle Wizard.

Location: execution yard

You can jump across to the other side in both directions.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Slayer and BW can use their ults from wherever on the scaffoldings. It's a close pixeljump for Handmaiden as her dash range is shorter than Zealot's. When jumping from left to right, Zealot has to jump from the wooden stump; Handmaiden can only jump from right to left.

Location: right next to captive #6

Direct jump down to the backside part of the execution yard. That's also the location where downed team mates respawn.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. Standing on the left-ish side of the covered table, jump and use ult to get over the iron fence.
DLC 4. Enchanter's Lair
Location: key for the first grimoire

You can get directly to the key location.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Warrior Priest (Hammer & Book dash), Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. From the opposite site, just jump/use ult to get to the key location.

Location: dropdown after first grimoire area

You can get to the previous area.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ult of Battle Wizard. (1) From the opposite ledge, move your teleport marker up the dropdown. When the marker is placed as in (2), use ult.

Location: dining hall

Quick jump over the balustrade to land right next to the explosive barrel.

Location: stairway after exploding barrel

You can skip some walking.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ult of Battle Wizard. Jump on the table and use ult to get on top of the chandelier. From there, move the teleport marker up the ledge and use ult again. Utilizing the Burnout talent for the two needed flamewalks in quick succession is strongly advised.

Location: key for the second grimoire [#1]

You can grab the key without having to go around.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Slayer and Battle Wizard. Jump on the sarcophagus and on the chandelier. Standing on the highest point of the chandelier, move the ult marker up to the opposite ledge, right above the hanging cage. This is the only spot where Slayer, specifically, can land. From the ledge, jump on top of the wall, inbetween the two bricks. Be aware of collision with the ceiling, though. Then jump on the left brick and grab the key.

Location: key for the second grimoire [#2]

After grabbing the key, you can jump back over the wall and quickly return to the locked door.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. (Yellow) Zealot, Handmaiden and BW have to stand on the highest point of the legs of the erect table. Jump/use ult to get over the wall right next to brick that is on top of it. (Green) Due to his ult's mechanics and the angles required, Slayer has to take a different approach. From the table legs, use ult to get on top of the wall on the far left side. Then jump down to the other side.
DLC 5. Trail of Treachery
Location: dropdown after first tome
You can drop down directly to pick up the items (keep to right side while facing the ledge). The two speed potions are a fixed spawn here.

Location: hanging bridge on the way to the lever
In case you want to go back quickly, at the hanging bridge, take a leap of faith off the ledge and around the tree to land on the side of the rock. Then jump back down onto the trail.

Location: lever for the bridge
You can hit the lever to lower the bridge from outside, without having to climb up the ladder. Walk over the rocks, jump and reach for the lever. Interaction tolerance for the dwarf is very low.

Location: downhill after pushing the sleigh through fence
Quick shortcut. From the dropdown, jump on the rock on the right. To avoid fall damage, jump on the top of the tree and proceed to the cogwheel event.

Location: third tome
You can grab the tome through the wall. Move the crosshair to the tiny gap between the wooden planks and adjust your angle in order to be able to pick up the tome. Pick up tolerance is limited.

Location: below the beacon on the right map route
Shortcut to the other side of the hill. Jump into the leafless tree and onto the rocks on the right. Climb up a little further and move through to the other side, just below the beacon.
DLC 5. Tower of Treachery
Location: destroying the four wards
You can destroy wards from the platforms below by hitting them through the floor. You can also destroy the ward closest to the entrance up top by throwing a bomb at it from below (Trollhammer also does the trick).

Location: snowy outside section
You can jump to the other side.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Zealot, Handmaiden, Slayer and Battle Wizard. From the left side of the rampart, use ult to get across to the other side. Because of her shorter dash range, Handmaiden has to go a little bit further down on the railing to make it over the gap.
Event. A Quiet Drink
Location: plaza after starting area

A few simple jumps (from two different directions) to quickly bridge the broken up street and proceed.

Location: after the holdout event at Hungry Troll tavern

Shortcut. You can cut quite some walking and get faster to the other side where downed players respawn.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Slayer and Battle Wizard. Jump on the balustrade. Standing on the highest point possible, use ult to get to the other side. It is a close call but you can place the ult marker at the very edge of the opposite ledge.

Location: tavern district

Shortcut to leave the tavern district.
Note: This can only be done using the mobility ults of Slayer and Battle Wizard. Starting in the high ground area, jump on the roof, down onto the lantern, and on the canvas. Keep on jumping on the wooden awnings. Standing on the second one, use ult to get over the wall and proceed to Borchband plaza.

Location: festive plaza

Shortcut to the upper area where you enter the Obese Megalodon tavern. Three jumps to get on top of the stacked barrels. From there, jump on the canvas and move up the awnings around the corner. Jump over the balustrade and proceed directly to the tavern.

Hi, I found a few skips on the Fort map.
This is the first skip, can be done on any character: https://imgur.com/a/eo0qyej
The second skip allows you to get to the chest with items (if there are any), can only be done on BW or Slayer.

Alternative option for any character:

A little difficult, but for HM/Zealot it will be easier since they have a dash.

This is fantastic. Just what I need to break into those higher difficulties more consistently. Much appreciated.

At Screaming Bell, right before you jump down into the marketplace you can leap onto the top section as Slayer. As long as you can target the right against the wall you could make it. Lots of leeway. I think it's easier if you were on the left side before you leap. https://imgur.com/a/T5RT6FO
