The Su-24 front-line bomber is designed to carry out air strikes on military and industrial targets to a depth of up to 400 km in conditions of strong opposition from a deeply layered air defense system.
The history of the Su-24 aircraft began in 1961, when, after the adoption of the Su-7B aircraft, the need for a modern front-line bomber became clear.
The 5.45 mm Kalashnikov assault rifle of the 1974 model (GRAU - 6P20 index) is a 5.45 mm automatic rifle developed in 1970 by Soviet designer M. T. Kalashnikov and adopted by the armed forces of the USSR in 1974. It is a further development of the AKM. The development of the AK-74 is associated with the transition to a new low-pulse cartridge of 5.45×39 mm.
It was first used in the Afghan war, then in all conflicts of the post-Soviet space. Currently, this machine is used by most countries of Eastern Europe, as well as Asia.
The positive experience of using a small-caliber cartridge in the USA forced the USSR to begin work on the development of a similar automatic cartridge, but there were already proposals for the development of a small-caliber cartridge.
In 1964, the M16 entered US military service and in the following year was deployed for jungle warfare operations during the Vietnam War.[12] In 1969, the M16A1 replaced the M14 rifle to become the US military's standard service rifle.[13] The M16A1 incorporated numerous modifications including a bolt-assist, chrome-plated bore, protective reinforcement around the magazine release, and revised flash hider.[12]
