Traits Guide
Vytvořil: Aeon
This guide will help you understand the importance of traits when looking for new staff to hire. Hiring is not just about their qualifications. You may notice every Doctor, Nurse, Assistant and Janitor also have something called "traits" when you click on them. It creates more personality and makes them more uniqe than just an ordinary staff.

In this guide I will show you all the positive, negative and mixed traits you will encounter. I also include a rating system so you can try to understand what to really look for when hiring and what to avoid.

The rating system is from my personal experience and is just my opinion. You might have other meaning.

Positive Traits
Rated from S to C (S is best, A is amazing, B is great, C is ok.)

S-Tier - Always hire.
Has magic healing hands - Healer - Increases the health of patients.
This is incredible efficient and very rare, best used on people that work in diagnosis so the patients don't die in the queue on their way to a treatment.

A-Tier
Motivated - Motivated - Walks faster than normal speed. +20% Speed.
Speed is always a good thing. Having them run faster is very positive in a big hospital

Has potential - Fast Learner - A quick learner that should develop quickly. +50% Learning Speed.
You should always train your employees when you can, so unless this person is already a Consultant and can't learn anything more, this is very efficient. Combines fine with the "Training Masterclass" qualification.

High Energy - Tireless - Works longer before needing a break.
Great to have and works very well with the "Stamina" qualification. You never know when you need the extra energy.

Positive - Positive - Happiness is higher than average. +10% Happiness.
Free happiness is good. Influence others are random and this is not. Often triggers "I love my job" and gives many bonuses. Awesome in higher tier in maps where you need high staff happiness to progress.

B-Tier
Will work for peanuts - Cheap - Reduced salary expectations.
Very good in the begining of the game, less in later game

Green Fingers - Green Fingers - Likes to water plants when idle.
Nice to let your janitor focus on more important stuff, and by this, you can use more quality plants in your building, especially the rooms your employee with this ability work.

Hygienic - Hygienic - Likes to stay clean and hygienic.
Hygegien is important when the hospital becomes more of a cluster. Still not really a must.

Inspiring - Inspiring - Inspires other people.
in may ways better than the Class clown, Charming and Funny Traits, but still not super important.

C-Tier
Class Clown - Entertainer - Entertains people with their sweet dance moves.
It's positive, but it takes time when they stop and dance and it is very random who they cheer up. Also there are tons of better ways to boost happiness to your patients or staff

Charming - Charming - Makes people happier when interacting with them.
(Sligthly better then Class clown as it goes faster, but still mediocre and situational. It's still good, but not something to look for unless happiness is an objective.

Funny - Funny - Makes people laugh.
Se charming, same boat.

Situational Borderline Tier
A natural mentor - Teacher - Whizzes through any syllabus. +50% Teaching Speed in Training.
If you are planning to use this employee to teach your other employees, then it is very good. If not, it does nothing. Combines fine with the "Training Masterclass" qualification.

Someone that you can trust, even if their current qualifications is under par.

Negative Traits
Rated 1-5. (1 is ok I guess, 2 is just bad, 3 is frustrating, 4 is horrible and should be avoided if possible, 5 is the worst, stay away.)

1 - Tier
Likes to Argue - Argumentative - Argues with other argumentative people.
Not that bad but takes up time and creates more unhappiness overall in hospital.

Hangry - Hangry - Becomes nasty when hungry. -10% Happiness.
Normally the same as the "Toilet rage" trait, but it is possible to build "sweet dispencer" in almost every room in the game, so they should always find something to eat when they work. At break they can eat in the Cafê.

2 - Tier
Cheese for brains - Stupid - A slow learner that will take some time to develop. -25% Learning Speed
You can work around this easily. Avoid to hire if the person need lots of training, but it does not effect any other part of his work day.

Short Temper - Short Temper - Becomes nasty when unhappy.
If you can keep them happy, it is not that big deal really. Bad in combination of other traits that lower the happiness.

Tires easily - Lazy - Wants more frequent breaks.
Can be negated with the "stamina" qualification.

Unmotivated - Unmotivated - Walks slower than normal speed. -20% Speed.
Can be countered with the "motivation" qualification

Wants more money - Expensive - High salary expectations.
A problem early game, not in later game.

3 - Tier
Dirty Habits - Dirty - Makes the hospital dirty.
Not particulary found of this one. In the late game, too many with this can create hopeless scenarios.

Litterer - Litterer - Drops litter around the hospital.
I hate this, but it's often livable. At least with many janitors.

Terribly dull - Boring - Makes people bored.
Bored can easily be fixed, but don't have to many with this trait.

Unhygienic - Unhygienic - Doesn't wash their hands.
Can be a problem in some situation, but a good designed hospital can counter this somehow.

Weak Bladder - Weak Bladder - Needs the toilet more often than most.
Not a good combination with the Toilet Rage trait. Makes them grumpy for the most of the time as they need toilet all the time.

4 - Tier
Gets toilet rage - Toilet Rage - Gets angry when they need the toilet. -10% Happiness.
This is a temporary bad trait, as a trip to the toilet restore everything, but the staff never goes to toilet if not on a break this often gets the trait activated as you can't micro them at all time.

Grumpy - Grumpy - Happiness is lower than average. -10% Happiness.
Normally happiness is not a big issue, but this leads to often to the "I hate my job" and gives 10% in bad bonuses to everything.

Nasty - Nasty - Upsets other people
The really bad version of the Argumentative trait. Takes time and create bad work environment for staff and patients.

Suffers from spontaneous bouts of snoozing - Sleepy - Will fall asleep, at random, every now and then.
Sometimes this have ruined everything for me. Avoid it if you can, if not, never have them as treatment employees.

5 - Tier - Avoid!
Has a dark side - Evil - Enjoys doing evil things. Reduces patient health upon interaction
Simply just the worst. Never hire people that does this unless it has the best qualifications you really need and only work with treatment.

Nausea inducing - Gross - Makes people feel sick.
You don't need more reasons to reduce their health as the queue continue to stack.

Someone I would never hire unless I was desperate. Would fire him right away when the crisis was averted though.

Mixed Traits
You can't rate them as the bonus or penalty is very random.

Thinks their life is a romcom - Romantic - Constantly falling in and out of love
Sometimes he is in love and give bonuses to treatment, diagnosis etc, sometimes the opposite.

The boy next door - Heart-Throb - The target of unrequited idolization.
The girl next door - Heart-Throb - The target of unrequited idolizaiton.
I really dont know what to do with this one. In my current version of the game I have yet to spot a positive or negative situation for this. I think it has something to do that they relies more on other to generate happiness or frustration. So if you have a hospital of mostly just good traits they get positive effects, and vica versa with bad traits. It then get more negative effect. - Yet to be proven.

Typical Mixed staff. Some posivtive, some negative and some random.

I would place expensive in -1 tier. Not a real downside at all unset you want to set some records with income.
I would place stupid in -1 tier. Not a real downside. You can finish levels from campaign with stupid people.

I would place Unhygienic in -4 tier as it affects outcome of some things.
I would place Gross in -4 tier.

Magic Healing Fingers - it's like the Nasty trait but in reverse. Increases health of patients interacted with. This is fire hot in my opinion for anyone in diagnostics. +5 to patient health every time they leave the room.

Thanks for this - really useful! I assumed the traits had some affect but hadn't really been paying much attention especially when there's not may recruits to choose from. Think I best go through my staff list and see if there's any I should consider firing :winter2019happydog:

Thanks for this! I sometimes ignore the traits when hiring, knowing that they did have some effect, either positive or negative. The ones I usually avoid are nausea inducing and litterers. Saves on bins in the rooms. :} However, I'm going to pay more attention to them from now on.
