General Tips and Knowledge
* This is a translated version of the guide I made in spanish, I will add more content to it as it becomes necessary (because some concepts are easy to understand if you know english and you dont need a guide for those)

This section will list some general tips and things you should know about the game, some of these will help you play better or get you out of a tight spot.

Some of these are explained in more detail in other sections.

If you have any questions or suggestions about things that this guide doesnt cover, send me a message or leave a comment and I will add it to the guide as soon as I can.

Here we go:

1) If you cannot find a quest, get stuck in a quest or the quest list dissapears, use the 'L' key to bring up the quest journal. If you failed a quest you can abandon it here (like the escort the saintess quest) or checkmark the boxes so they appear in the quest list to the right of your UI.

2) If your keyboard doesnt work but your mouse does, try pressing the ALT key to get your keyboard unstuck.

2.5) You can change your class at level 25. An automatic quest will show up in your quest log and you will have to go to Prontera. Monks and Beastmasters lose all their previous class skills and get their skill points back to be able to distribute them among their new class skills.

3) Titles are a way to get some extra stats and have a slighty more powerful character. you can get these titles by completing Khara Quests. These quests are optional quests that can be seen in the Khara board when you press 'O' key. To the right if this board, towards the middle you will see an arrow, clicking on this will give you a list of available titles you can equip.

4) In Prontera, the castle city, there is an Auction house where you can good deals on every tradeable item available. I recommend only bidding on items with a few hours left because when someone outbids you, you need to go all the way back to the auction house to re-bid. This is the main reason is important to put your items for sale on 1D timers unless you want them to be buy-out only.

5) BEWARE! NPC weapons and armors are statless, this means they are NOT good for you at all.
Always buy equipment from other players either through vendors or the auction house. Although quest equipment you get through story missions are very decent and boss drops are even better so it's going to be a rare occasion when you will need to buy some until higher levels. DO NOT buy gear from NPCs.

6) How to add someone to your friend list:
Using the 'U' key a window will come on-screen, click on 'Add Friend' and write their name on the second window that pops out. You can right click on their name to whisper chat with them or add them to your guild or party.

7) The cardmaster can fusion monster cards with a 50% chance by buying a stone from him and putting 5 cards on his fusion interface. If you fail, you lose all the cards. There are Khara missions that require you to have 20 and 30 cards on you to complete.

8) The best way to level up your profession is to craft items using the UI that is shown by pressing the 'J' key. To learn crafting recipes, talk to your profession expert and click on the Craft Button, a list of available recipes will come up so you can learn them.

9) If you cannot figure out how much money you have, look to the area below your inventory bags, the gold coin represents Zeny and the silver coin represents Rupees. Each zeny is equal to 1000 rupees.

10) If you need to unequip a bag so you can equip a larger one, put your mouse cursor on the bag that you wish unequipped and drag it to an available space in another of your bags. The bag you want unequipped needs to be empty. (You can see the bag icons in the picture above)

Watch out for scammers, medium bags (the bigger ones available) are 500 rupees in NPC shops or you can pay the higher price if you dont want to be bothered looking for the NPC that sells them.

11) To add additional rows to your hotkeys and have more hotkeyed actions, click on this arrow:

12) There is an easier way to transfer items between windows by right clicking on them, this way you can sell stuff faster and equip items without having to open the character sheet, be careful of selling things you didnt want to sell.

13) The average loot system works like this:
a) If you close the loot window, you are forfeiting your chance or claim of the item.
b) If you click on 'Need' you will be added to a list of players which will roll dice to determine who will keep the item, if you are the only one on the list, you get it.
c)) If instead you click on 'Greed' you will put on a secondary list, if noone clicked 'Need', all the players that clicked on 'Greed' will roll for the item.

14) You can purchase a mount in Prontera for 10 Zeny, however, you can only use it once you reach level 15, this is a permanent mount. Players will also sell mounts which can be used at any level for a higher price and those mounts usually only last 2 weeks.

15) The dissassemble expert helps you improve your equipment by the use of powders, you can get these powders by dissasembling level 25 or higher equipment using a Fairy Stone.
To use a Fairy stone right click on the stone then click on the equipment you want dissasembled.
You cannot get your equipment destroyed by this, the only penalty will be a wipeout of your enchantment (meaning it will become a +0 )

16) There are some quests that require you to use quest items in your inventory:
Some quests wants you to use the items by right clicking them like drinking a potions others by reading them like a book or letter.

Others will ask you to capture monsters using a mallet, you need to finish off the mob (Green Peco Peco baby) using the mallet.

17) You can teleport into a dungeon if the party leader goes inside while you are in a party.
An icon to the right will appear, click on it to teleport from anywhere into the dungeon.

There are a few conditions for it to work:
You need to be in the party when the leader goes in (if he already went in and then you are added to the party it doesnt work) Everyone must be out of battle, no fighting.

18) If you get stuck someplace, try using a teleport butterfly wing, if you dont have any, ask a friend or someone to invite you to a party. Make him the party leader and ask him to enter a dungeon. The teleport icon will appear and you can teleport out of your tight spot.

19) You can invite people to your party by right clicking on their name in the chat window:

20) To split objects from a stack (like a stack of 10 potions where you want to trade 5) click on the stack while pressing SHIFT button.

21) This might be obvious but if its not, you can see your quest destination if you open the map and click over a mission objective:

Hotkeys
'C' = Character Sheet (Stats, Equipment, Costumes, Cards)
'T' = Skill Tree
'B' = Inventory Bags
'M' = Map (click on it again to have a transparent map, again to close it)
'J' = Crafting UI
'L' = Quest Log
'O' = Khara Mission Board and Title Equip
'K' = Emoticon and Social Commands (Dance, Clap, etc..)
'R' = Auto-loot key. Click once to run towards corpse to loot, click again to grab everything from the corpse.
'Y' = Vendor UI to sell items (Only lvl 10 and above)
'U' = Friend and Channel Interface
' I ' = Mount Window
'P' = Card collection
'N' = Find a party or recruit someone for your party.
'ESC' = System menu
'G' = Guild interface
'V' = Summon Guardian (get a guardian when you reach profession level 10 and doing a quest in Prontera)
'Num Lock' = AutoRun forward
Where to get a mount
There are 3 ways to get a mount:
1) Buy a mount in the Kahfra Shop for real life money.
2) Buy a mount for zeny off players who bought a mount for real life money through their vendors or the auction house.

3) Buy the regular Peco Peco mount in Prontera.

Most mounts only last for 14 days with the exception of a permanent rickshaw mount and the regular Peco Peco.

You can buy the regular Peco Peco from the Mount Manager in Prontera for 10 zeny, however, you can only use this mount when you reach level 15. You dont need to buy the feed bag for your mount, its completly optional.

To hotkey your mount, open the mount window using the 'I' key and go to 'Own' tab. Drag the mount icon over to your hotkey bar.

Equipment and Stats

STR - Physical attack damage
AGI - Critical, Dodge and Hit rate
INT - Magical attack damage
WIS - Determines your total Spell Points (Blue bar)
VIT - Determines your total Hit Points (Red bar)

INT is useless to characters who attack using physical weapons and STR is useless to characters who attack using magical weapons.

The exception to this are monks who have an ability in which they turn both INT and STR into attack power.

AGI is useful for all classes to increase their Critical, Dodge and Hit rate, VIT and WIS are often neglected because equipment come with big bonuses to those stats.

All equipment come in different colors that represent their rarity and their power.
White < Green < Blue < Purple

White equipment is the one sold by NPCs and they are void of all stat enhancements.
Green equipment have stat enhancements but do not have any bonuses to HP,Hit or Haste.

Story missions mostly give out green equipment and sometimes blue. You can find the best equipment for your level by defeating bosses.

Remember to repair your equipment in the repair experts, once an equipment reaches 0 durability you might as well unequip it as it loses all its bonuses.

There are some costumes that give you bonus stats, they are usually pretty pricey but you can find them in auction or vendors.
Khara Missions and Titles
Khara missions give out bonuses like titles that give you additional stats, XP and money. A lot of missions are about killing a certain number of monsters of aquiring a specific item.

These missions unlock as you level up or start a certain story mission, some unlock the first time you use a skill. Some Khara missions start automatically but others need you to activate them manually. Because of this, its higly recommended to check your Khara Board often, that way, you can sometimes do both a khara mission and a story mission at the same time.

You can see the requirements of a Khara mission at the bottom of the interface in the Condition section.

Bombs unlock automatically once you clear all the missions you point to.

Most title missions will ask you for Khara Points, your current Khara points are show at the top of the board. You get Khara points through other Khara missions which unlock as you level up, if you find yourself lacking points, level up to unlock point-giving missions.

You can equip and see your available titles by clicking on the arrow shown in the picture below:

The Auction House
The Auction House is located in Prontera, in the town's square roughly in the middle of the map inside this house:

The interface is pretty straightforward, unfortunely the search system is very limited and can only search by level and name. You cannot, for example, choose Cloth Armor category and then search by level.

Special or Tricky Missions
There are several missions in Ragnarok Online 2 that will leave you wondering what to do next.

This is a list of those special tricky missions, some of them can be easily figured out but others are more tricky.

First of all, if you didnt already know, you can see where the quest goal is by clicking the quest item in your quest list to your right and having the map open.

Your quest goal will be shown as a red dot.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some missions that leave you items in your inventory to use.
Sometimes they are potions or herbs you need to use before talking to another NPC.

For example, in the Afanc village, you harvest a plant and then have to open your inventory to use it and then talk to the Afanc person.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Others give you letters or books to read where you need to click the "next page" arrow at the bottom until the "Complete" button appears and you can finish the quest.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Carrot Town, the town after Prontera, a daily quest will ask you to kill Glutton Fabres.
You will be given an item called Pestecide, after you begin fighting the slug, you will notice you do next to no damage to it, it has a powerful shielding buff. Put the pesticide in one of your quick slots and use it to debuff him so you can kill the slug normally.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Around South Plains, the area after Prontera, you will be asked to capture Green Peco Peco babies, this is the first of several quests that give you a mallet in your inventory to equip to capture monsters. You need to have this mallet equipped when you dash out the final blow to the mob so it drops an item called "Captured" from its corpse. You can attack the monster until it has 20% or so health left, switch to the mallet and finish it off. Alternatively, you can equip the mallet and let someone else kill it for you and you will grab the captured item.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you reach Izlude city, you will enconter a captured merman, after doing some questing for the cook, you will be asked to go to the windmill or watermill, you need to walk around the center of the town to trigger a cutscene.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In an encapment east of Izlude city, there will be another captured merman called putaruta but he is bugged and you wont be able to click on his body to grab his quest.

You need to click on his name or on his feet for it to work.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you reach the first merman base and have to capture the boss, sometimes, he wont drop the "Captured" item. This is a bug and you need to abandon the quest and retry. People have reported doing this several times (8 or more) by abandoning and retrying until they get it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the second and more friendlier merman base, there is a Merman merchant. He sells a quest scroll for level 24, I believe, buy it for some extra XP.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After finishing Sea God temple, you will be asked to find a Hidden Freyjanity, you will be given a flare in your inventory. Even if you see the Freyjan, first, you need to get really close to him until a success message appears, this is triggered by walking into the area he is in, if you pull him to you instead of going to him, your quest might not trigger correctly.

Once you have the success, use the flare to summon Eremes and he will help you fight him:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once you reach Payon Forest and are hunting the Miho creatures (Foxes that walk on 2 legs) you will be given a Fire Bomb to defeat the Miho Boss.

If you fail this quest and forget about it, you will effectivly be without any missions at all.
This is the "bug" some people claim to have when they say their quests have dissapeared.

What they need to do is go to the Miho boss and walk into this spawning area to get the quest to defeat him back and continue on their quest chain. (You can get rid of the fire bombs after you defeat him)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to change channels & Threat Meter
To quickly change channels click this button:

Easy as that.

The Threat meter button is left of the change channel button here:

If you have a monster selected (meaning its portrait appears at the top of your screen) this threat meter window will show who has the monster attention and that person is the most likely to be attacked by the monster.

Some bosses, however, have random attacks that attack the healer or an attacker for a few seconds though but still, this is very useful to see who the monster is primarly attacking.

Last but not least, this is the reset dungeon button. If you did not know, dungeons do not have respawning monsters, if you wish to do a dungeon again, the party leader will need to click this button to reset the dungeon. (All party members need to be outside the dungeon for this to work)

Kafra Transportation
As you go, you might notice NPCs that look like little witches:

These are the Kafra Transportation Agents.

They will allow you to fast travel from one side of the map to another for a fee and if you are a cheapstake like me, you'd rather walk :)

Anyway, if you wish to use them, a window will appear when you talk to them like this:

The little broom icons are destination points, hover your mouse over them to see how much it'll cost to fly there.

At least flying is fun, you actually get on the broom and fly there (its quick).

You might have noticed Kafras only fly you within the same map, that's correct.

If you want to fly to other maps, there exists Kafras Long Distance Agents like the one you find in Prontera to the east of the main square:

You can use her to fly to far away destinations, for a price.
The chat system
You can invite people to your party by right clicking on their name in the chat window:

These are the shortcut commands for the chat system:
You need to write the following command shortcut and then a message (ex. /p hi )

/p -> Party chat
/n -> Area chat (Normal)
/1 -> Public chat
/2 -> Trade chat
/3 -> Looking for group chat

You can show items on chat by dragging items to the chat window like so:

You can move the chat window by pushing the button indicated by the green arrow and dragging the window. The yellow arrow points to a button that makes the chat window taller, clicking on it several times eventually shrinks it down to original size.

You can change the channel's color in the Channel tab when you press the 'U' key if you click on the colored squares:

If you are bothered by the All channel showing so many messages they FLY through, you can customize your tabs by right clicking on a tab and selecting which channels you want to listen to:
How to trade items
Giving an item to someone else is fairly simple, first make you are are both out of combat and nearby.

Select his character by clicking on his avatar or, if you are in party, click on their name in the party list to your left. Their portrait should appear at the top of your screen like this:

Right click on their portrait and you can see a menu pop-up, choose Trade Request.

A window like this will show up:

You will see two sections, one under your name and the other under their name.

Drag and drop objects to your section to trade them.
Right clicking on the items in your inventory will also work.
You can trade money by clicking on the boxes pointed by the red arrows and then writing a number.

Once you are satisfied with what you want to give the other person, click on the OK button.
The colliseum
The colliseum is a PVP event that happens 3 times a day.

To the day of this publication, the best equipment of the game are earned through blood points earned in the colliseum, this is why its so important to play colliseum whenever you can.

Even though the equipment is level 50, it costs a lot of points so its good to play the colliseum from low level.

All characters that enter the colliseum become level 50 characters to even the odds, once they get out of the colliseum, they revert to their original level.

The colliseum consists of 5 rounds, each round will eliminate players with low scores.
You get points by killing other players and enemies that spawn inside the colliseum.
It is possible to win a round by only killing mobs that spawn if you kill enough of the but players are always worth more points.

Even if you fail the first round, they will give you around 3000 points or so.

To enter the colliseum, you have to click this icon when the event begins:

The cheapest equipment you can buy costs around 58000 blood points.

You can check how many points you have by going to the character screen:

To redeem your points for equipment, you have to go to Prontera here:

Monster Busters (XP for Money)
Monster Busters NPC sells quests that give youa fairly decent amount of XP.

You can find these after Prontera and look like this:

One thing to keep in mind is your level vs the scroll levels.

The scroll levels are designed for 3 levels.
For example, a level 41 scroll will be only usable by levels 40,41 and 42.

WARNING: If you have a scroll and you level up above the scroll level requirements you wont be able to use it, at all!

Anyway,to activate the scroll's quest just right click it in your inventory and accept the quest.
You will see a quest like this:

You can notice they ask you for a lot of kills, but dont worry, you only need to do one of those not all of them.

So, to take advantage of this, lets say you have a khara quest to kill Savage Bebe and a Main Quest to kill Heavy Savage and Troublemaker Savage Bebe.

In that case, you would buy 3 monster buster scrolls and kill one species first until the scroll is done.
Then activate the second scroll and kill the other and when its done, activate the 3rd scroll and you are done with all quests plus bonus XP from the Monster buster scrolls.

If you are kind of rich, in the auction house they sell Adventurer's battle manuals that give you a 20% XP boost for 24 hours (the hours dont get wasted when you log off or play another character) that also helps a lot with leveling.
Find Party System
So, you want to look for a group or more member for your group to form a full party or raid and go to an adventure, what do?

You can advertise in the Find party channel

OR

Use the Find Party system. (Press N key)

You will find a list of parties looking for more members, this is the first tab: Find Party

The second tab is "Find Dungeon" where you can enter a random party already in a dungeon (or start a Random Dungeon).

The third tab is the Recruit tab where individual players can post their adventurer wishes, here, you can recruit one person to your party.

So, going back to the "Find Party" tab, at the top, there is a search/filter function where you can specify which kind of party you are looking for.

In Sort, you can select wether you are creating a party for questing (quest), a party for dungeons (Party), a Raid or PVE Arena.

In Place, you can select the area you want to go question, the dungeon you want to delve in or the raid you want to run. (depends on what you selected on Sort)

and finally, in Difficulty, you select wether you want to do the run on Normal or Hard.

Note: A lot of people mistake this list for the recruit list and are usually alone, you can whisper them and invite them to join your party.

You can also post your party by clicking on the Post&Edit button below.
After clicking on it, this will show up:

This is similar to the filter system that I explained above, you specify what kind of run you want to do with your party and also put a comment to attract players.

Now, if you are alone and are looking for a party, go to the Recruit tab:

Here, the search function is similar to the find Party one with the addition of "Role" (indicated by the yellow arrows) Here, you can filter people by their role (Healer, Tank, DPS).

To post your character so parties can find you, click on the Post&Edit button below and this window will show up:

The interface is pretty straightforward.

As for the second tab: Find Dungeon

Just be weary that even though you might select to find a dungeon in Normal mode, at the time of this posting, it can send you to a Hard Dungeon instead(meant for lvl 50 players)
So be careful with this.
Union Quests and Epic Crafting
This is an excellent guide for unions. If you are looking for information about them I recommend reading this:
