If you are looking at this, you probably are wondering what all the stuff about the newest steam sale is, and i'm gonna explain it all in a short and simple guide. Basically, this year we have a game where you play as a little alien that you can customize. You play a tower-defense game where you protect a tower from invaders and you can shoot them and use abilities. TBH the game itself isn't the funnest game you can be playing on steam but the main draw of it is that the longer you play it, the higher the chance of getting entered in drawings for games that each planet you visit drops. BUT as Naegi from Danganronpa would say "NO, THAT'S WRONG!". And he would be right because what you should really being doing is just having the game open on a planet to increase your chances of getting a game.

The only reason to play the game is if you want to level up your Salien Rank Badge or get cosmetics for your aliens. And this leads us to why many people are scripting. You can script if you really want to and that will just play the game for you so you don't have to spend hours on grinding to level up. Check out the subreddit if you want to script, or you can play the game normally, OR you can just open the game and enter a planet and afk. Here's a quote from Valve - "The Giveaway will be available during the 2018 Steam Summer Sale. Standard entry is accomplished by playing the Steam Salien game while logged into a Steam Account that is not limited. Prizes will be awarded for each ‘planet’ completed by all players in the Steam Salien game. Each entrant’s odds of winning will be determined by the time the entrant plays on the planet, as a fraction of the total time all entrants play on the planet prior to completion. 1. Open game

2. Choose a group to represent (doesn't matter, many people choose large groups to see who can dominate the most planets)

3. Choose planet (choosing a planet will decide what games you are entered for a chance to win once you join)

4. Play game (just click on a square and play) OR AFK if you don't care about the Badge or Cosmetics

5. (only pay attention to this step if you chose to play the game) Use your mouse to shoot the invaders and protect your base, you will have 1 ability when you start and will gain more as you level up. Also changing your body type when you customize the alien will give you a different ability.

6. when the Planet expires (becomes conquered) then just switch to a different one.
