This is my first guide, so things may be a little vague and under explained, or straight up not making sense. If you have any difficulties comment in the comment section and i will try to get back to you!

7/7/2018| I found out these same commands work on most idtech engine games, games like Doom and quake, (It may work on Doom 4 and Quake Champions as they are on Idtech 6, but it is probably cheat protected and such, and for classic doom games you need zDoom or GzDoom for these to work) Although there is not much use for the zooming in doom or quake. Also, there is no point in applying these commands to Quake III Arena or Quake Live, it already has a zoom feature, which is already fov customizable.

7/7/2018 pt 2! These commands will NOT work with source engine as far as im concerned. Ive tested it on Half-Life 2 and Csgo, they dont work. Source has a limited camera fov, which is anywhere between 54 and 90, i dont believe you can go any lower, dont get this confused with VIEWMODEL fov, that just changes how the close the weapon is TO the camera.

You might be asking why would I want to zoom in? I have the crossbow already! Well, the main purpose is for the glock. The glock has PERFECT accuracy on its main fire mode. With zoom on glock, you can snipe enemies which were more difficult to scope with standard glock or the crossbow (which is not hitscan.) Headshots will then be clearer and you can take your target out quicker and potentially save more ammo. Feel free to experiment with the capabilities!

Here are some recommended binds to zoom in: Mouse wheel up = mwheelup
mouse wheel button = mouse3
here are some reccomended binds to zoom out: Mouse wheel down = mwheeldown
back button on mouse (the button(s) on the sides of some mouses) = mouse4
forward button on mouse = mouse5
First things first, make sure console is enabled. once done open it up by hitting the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ uhhh "~" button. When the console is open, you should see a log of things that have happened in the game and near the bottom is where you type. I use the mousewheel button, which ingame is mouse3, so i would type the following to zoom in: bind mouse3 "default_fov 30" MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE THE QUOTES OTHERWISE IT WONT RECOGNIZE THE COMMAND. The value does NOT NEED TO BE 30, it all depends on your taste so experiment with it.

Now, to zoom OUT. I personally use mouse4 (see above in binds) because i already have mwheelup and mwheeldown to jump (because of bhopping) So if you used mouse4 it would be the following: bind mouse4 "default fov 105" (again make sure you include the quotes!) Also, the default fov is 90, so set to your desired fov.

If you feel that when you're zoomed that the mouse is moving too fast, then i just found a fix, also i need sleep i should stop doing this guide. Regardless here's the good stuff.

1) Look at the sections above on how to bind.

2) if you have a zoom bind like this: bind mouse5 "default_fov 30" then change it to this, remember YOU DO NOT NEED THIS VALUE: bind mouse5 "default_fov 30; sensitivity 1"

3) Make sure you check your mouse settings and look at your sensitivity and remember it before this step, alright so if you have unzoom bind like this: bind mouse4 "default_fov 110" then change it to this: bind mouse4 "default_fov 110; sensitivity 5.1"

4)???

5) Profit
