STILL WORKING FOR PATCH #3, MAY 3RD!

For the most part, it still works for Patch #3, including the removed shadows.

This is a TL;DR version of:
https://esports.exposed/radicalheights/radicalheights-high-fps-competitive-settings/

This guide is also work in progress. Check back later for even more optimization tips.

Radical Heights is in it early days, lacks optimization and the biggest part of optimization still has to come from the dev. Hopefully soon - besides an anti-cheat.

There are still ways to up to triple your FPS, by understanding the ingamesettings better and using a customized ini config file for high fps.

Follow the guide and get those FPS!
Be sure to come back and check that guide regularly, as things will change over the time.
HIGH FPS CONFIG
UPDATED FOR PATCH #2, MAY 3RD. WITH NO SHADOWS.
DOWNLOAD THE NEW ENGINE.INI IF YOUR GAME IS UNUSUALLY DARK

You'll get the best improvement by using this high fps config. Make sure you also use the in-game settings from this guide, otherwise not all commands from the config are going to be used.

  • Download it here: Radical Heights High FPS Config[esports.exposed]
  • To use it, replace the Engine.ini you find in \Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\RadicalHeights\Saved\Config\WindowsClient
  • Make it read-only!!! Otherwise it will get overwritten as soon as you start the game.

ALWAYS DOWNLOAD THE NEWEST ONE! THINGS ARE PROBABLY GOING TO CHANGE REGULARLY IN THE FUTURE.
In-game Settings
Make sure you set those in-game settings, not only the get you some additional FPS, they also are needed to be set that way to make the HIGH FPS CONFIG fully working.

RESOLUTION
You don't need to play on 1080p. The game is clean, so you can easily go lower than that to get additional FPS. Try 900p or 720p. Also, using a 16:10 resolution costs you 15% of the screen space, which you might not even use, but that also means 15% less pixel to render.

SCREEN SCALE PERCENTAGE
Make always sure if you compare your FPS that you have the same setting (best case 100) here! Screen Scale Percentage determines your final resolution and is a percentage value.

If it is set to 70% for example, your game get's only rendered in 70% of the set resolution. If you play at 1920x1080 the game would render at 1344*756 (1920*0,7(70%)*1080*0,7(70%)).

If you set it to automatic, the game sets that value depending on your graphics card. If you have a GTX770 for example, it will be set to 72%. That's why somebody with a better graphics card but the value at 100 might experience worse FPS than you. Because you are not really playing on the resolution you think you're playing on!

WINDOW MODE
Always go with FULL SCREEN. Borderless Windowed Mode adds additional input-lag and costs performance.

You have to ask the devs for a option to remove shadows. ;>

Is there no way to completely turn off bloom like during Patch #1? The game is so much more blurry and the colors are weird.

Yes, but not your visibility. If graphics quality = visibility for you.
Calling Radical Heights andl it's assets mix quality graphics is probably subjective too though. So, just give it a try, if you don't like it, get rid off it again.

will this poop on my graphics quality?

No idea where you get that from, but usually editing .ini / config files isn't cheating at all.

is this cheating? usually editing a .ini file is cheating
