Author's Note
This time around, the new equipment isn't so black and white and now there are no triple upgrade paths. I'll be showing you each set of equipment and you can decide on your own whether or not it's worth it. I'll also be giving my thoughts on the equipment. Header images will be done soon.

I will be working to add the Final Batlle upgrades to the 99* stats document. I find it tedious to update all of the sets.

I used a Cheat Table to give myself infinite materials and money to show the final stats at +99 for all of these pieces of equipment. Stats at 99* are accurate but I'll get around to adding the images for equipment at 99* later.

I'm too lazy to add a table for the firearms so you'll have to deal with images. Sorry.

Perfected - Ultimate Set
Derived from Third Generation Blade MK. III
The Perfected Set makes a return in A.O.T 2 and it's still the most balanced of equipment you can get. It's expensive to make and it's still a good set of equipment. Let's move on.

Blood Set
Set derived from Spirit II set
The Rozen Set is still a very expensive set to craft but still a very good set. It's Scabbard has a total of 5 blades which is now matched by other Scabbards. For the most part, it's still inferior to the Perfected Set but if you feel like using it, go right ahead.

Divine Reinforced Set
Set derived from First Generation set
The Perfected Reinforced Set is somewhat cheap to make and in some ways, inferior to the Perfected Set. But what it lacks in Sharpness, Durability and Gas Pressure, it tries to make up with 5 Blades and higher hook reach. It's not my personal recommendation but it's certainly an option if staying in a fight for longer is something you want to do.

Koenig II Set
Derived from Sturm set
The Koenig Set makes a return as well and this time, it's still one of the shortest blades in the game, one of the highest gas pressures in the game and some of the strongest Anchors in the game. If you don't mind lacking Blade Length and want to get around fast, this is a good set for you.

Zero Set
Set derived from Tiger Zero, Swifthorse Zero and Panther Tail Zero.
Disclaimer: This set is named the same as it's derivative. Understand this set the ultimate upgrade to the original Zero set.
The Zero set makes a return and is one of the last returning sets in the game. It still has the highest sharpness, some of the highest gas pressure and highest reel speed. The blade length is only equaled by the Solar Blade and the Gas Pressure is beaten only by the Demon God Scabbard. The Zero set excels in getting around the map quickly and killing Titans quickly. Be mindful of the blade durability, though.

Heavy Iron Set
Heavy, Edgy, Sharp and Raw. I'd argue that the blades are some of the better in the game but the scabbard and gear aren't anything to write home about. In fact, the gear might be some of the worst in the game. The scabbard is fine, however be mindful of the low gas pressure and lack of blade refills.

Crescent II Set
Derived from the Spirit Set
It's an alternative over the Blood set, The blade, while useful, I find to be inferior to the Blood Rapier in normal gameplay. The Reel Speed of the Blood Crest is traded off for longer hook reach and greater Hook strength and the Gas Pressure of the Blood Wing is traded off for a little extra Capacity. Use at your own discretion.

Shadow Set
Derived from King Tiger Zero, Thunderhorse Zero and Leopard Tail Zero.
I don't like the blades of this set and would easily consider them the worst in the game. They are unsuitable for endgame Territory Recovery Mode and passable on most multiplayer missions. The high damage is easily surpassed by guns and a single use of the Decisive Battle signal. The Scabbard and Gear however are fairly good for players who use the Stealth and Surprise Attack skills. While they are outclassed in terms of stats, they are perfectly serviceable.

Demon God Mk. II Set
Special Effect: Ignores angle when attacking and increased Detection rate
You can consider this the opposite to the Shadow Set. It's made for getting in a Titan's face and dealing damage that way instead of hoping for a 500K damage proc. The blades are a direct upgrade to the Blood Rapiers which are already a set of perfectly serviceable blades and ones I've taken to every mission that isn't Second Victory and while the Scabbard has the highest Gas Pressure in the game, be mindful of the low gas capacity. The Gear is also solid and is usable up until the endgame.

Platinum Set
The Diamonds that made this Set's blade are Unbreakable. But how do they do outside of the durability? Pretty average. If you're not a big fan of decisive battle signal spamming then you can certainly use them but there's better alternatives. The Scabbard is very good and should be worth considering should you enjoy the design of it. Meanwhile the Gear is the Heavy Gear if it were actually usable. The low anchor range is made up for with amazing hook strength if you care about that and average reel speed. A mixed bag but certainly not the worst set of equipment.

Special Effect: Ignites Body Parts after attack and Ignition Duration up
Note:Body Part Damage from ignition is not affected by Strength and is affected by Dex and is also affected by Decisive Battle Signals, Chase Down, Research Grounding, Dueler, Surprise Attack, About Titans, Advanced ODM skills, Strong Bonds and Predicament.

Ah Blazing set. What did Koei do to you? What was once one of the best, if not the best set for endgame has been reduced to a shell of it's former self. The fire damage was heavily nerfed in Final Battle so what are we left with? Well, the blade can ignite all body parts of a titan on fire and deal decent chip damage but the sharpness is lacking. In fact, the sharpness is the second lowest in the game. The Blazing Axel has the highest the highest gas capacity in the game but middling gas pressure and one blade refill and the Blazing Machinery is still one of the best gears in the game. I'm sure that you can make the set work as a whole but in my eyes, it's best if you just use the gear.

Highest sharpness in the game? Check. Lowest durability in the game? Check. The gear complements that with having 5 blade refills and pretty good gas pressure. The gear is pretty average with having pretty good hook range and a little less reel speed than the Perfected Gear. Overall, not bad and should be considered if you want to have some fun.

Hell II Set
Set derived from Blitz II set
Since my original thoughts on this provided nothing of value, let's reexamine this set with the jaded eyes of a Koei fan. Where the blades shine is against boss titans but can do good against regular titans anyways. the scabbard has excellent gas pressure and plenty of refills. The gear is good in it's own right with a high reel speed but easily outclassed by other options. Not bad and certainly fun for people running Dueler and Appeal.

Hyaku-shiki Mk. II Set
Derived from Amethyst Set
Perfectly balanced as all things should be. Should you be a sadist and want to send your friends to do your job for you while you get all the credit, this is perfect. Should you need to fight yourself, you'll find that the equipment are what I'd call, absolutely average. it's not bad by a long shot, but it shines on leadership builds which are a little riskier to play due to the more micro-managey nature of them.

Omega Sol Set
Special Effects: Attacks cause Paralysis and fall speed is increased.
The blades try to make up for the lack of damage and durability by paralyzing titans, the scabbard has the highest amount of blade refills in the game and the gear is like a middle ground between the heavy gear and the platinum gear. I've never been sure on what to make of this set and I still can't really provide any good insight into it. Use with caution I guess.

Fury Set
Special Effects:
Add Perfect Reload Effect(Blade)
Perfect Reload Support(Scabbard)
Longer Perfect Reload Effect(Gear)
Perfect Reloads! A mechanic that's only used by people like me who don't want to use Decisive Battle Signals the entire run. In terms of stats, how does it do? Fairly well. Consider it a more offensive version of the reinforced set and pretty much better in most aspects. I think it's fun and should be given a try if you don't mind the more grungy aesthetic.

Set Effect:
Strength+5
Concentration+5

Phos Chronos Set
Special Effects:
Attacks slow down titans(Blades)
Attacking Boosts Speed(Scabbard)
Longer Speed Effect(Gear)
The Gear and Scabbard are definitely meant to be used together but the blades I haven't really done any testing with. I wouldn't risk trying to slow down a titan for whatever reason instead of just killing it outright, which these blades will likely do in the first place on endgame builds barring muscular and fat titans. The gear is fine on it's own but the scabbard, I don't think I could recommend even with the speed boost. Just a perplexing set all around.

Set Effect:
Health+5
Dexterity+5

Evil Set
Special Effects:
Activate Capture Mechanism(Blade)
Boost Mechanism Reinforcement(Scabbard)
Longer Mechanism Reinforcement(Gear)
So just guessing on what the scabbard and gear do here. I think they increase equipment duration which may or may not affect Decisive Battle Signals. The Blades of the set are a completionist's dream though, letting you capture titans automatically! Need to fill out the gallery? Just slap the blades on and just play like you normally would! I wouldn't recommend the gear on its own but the blades and scabbard are certainly nice additions.

Set Effect:
Agility+5
Leadership+5

Preface (Guns)
Working more with Firearms, they are fairly powerful but still require getting used to due to managing more things. Such as your Magazine and getting critical hits. But they are fairly effective if you can get used to them quickly. THEY ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE but some Dire Eliminations will require you to use Guns. So if you aren't a big fan of guns, just use the Perfected Gun Set and swap out when you can. Another thing to note: The Colossal Titan dies extremely quickly to gunfire.
Perfected Gun Set
Standard issue stuff. Most balanced out of the Gun sets, overall not much to say here. It's good.

Set Effect:
Dexterity+10
Leadership+10

Dread Set
This is a hyper offense focused set. I don't think the gear is much good but the Ammo Belt and guns have the highest power and gas pressure in their category. However for the guns, this comes at the cost of not being able to fire quickly or having those shots hit quickly. Use at your own risk.

Set Effect:
Health +10
Concentration +10

Meister Set
Special Effects:
Break Shot Support (Gun)
Lowered Detection Rate (Gear)
It seems to me that this set is meant for long range attacks. Which would be great assuming that you could get far enough away from a titan. However, due to how the Anti-Personnel 3DMG works, you can't get too far away from a titan to shoot at them while hooked onto them. Overall, I'd call it mediocre but who knows, I could be wrong. For people who free aim though, this might be useful.

Set Effect:
Dexterity +10
Agility +10
Starlight Set
Special Effects:
Chance to deal 500,000 damage and Boss damage increase (Gun)
Critical Damage Boost (Gear)
Note, it's not really called the Starlight set. I'm just calling it that because it's more convenient.
The gun looks amazing. It's got a slow successive fire speed but the projectile speed is just barely slower than the Meister gun (not confirmed yet). On top of that, it has two special effects. Increased Boss Damage and a chance to deal 500,000 damage titans. I would argue that this is the best gun due to those reasons. While the deadly blow isn't anything to write home about, it also has increased boss damage which is handy to quickly kill a boss before their stamina recharges The gear of the set is also great too, boosting critical damage just to kill the boss titans faster. The ammo belt is slow but offers high capacity and precision, so it's really up to you to use. You're not missing out on much by not using the full set anyways,

Set Effect:
Agility +10
Dexterity +10

Joker Set
Looking cool, Joker! This set is actually very underwhelming. On one hand, you have the fastest successive fire speed in the game paired with a slow projectile speed which makes it somewhat unreliable against titans that are moving. No special effect to make up for that and low damage per shot. The highest gas capacity but low pressure and precision and an high reel speed but low anchor range and strength. You can use this if you want, the full set isn't worth using together though.

Set Effect:
Concentration +10
Leadership +10

Grand Duke's Set
Special Effects:
Shortened Buddy Cooldown (Ammo/Canister)
Buddy Effectiveness up (Gear)
Hey you, yes, you! do you want your friends to do the work for you? Well boy howdy do I have a set for you. Boasting the second lowest reel speed in the entire game, this set is made for one type of build: Leadership builds. Which are, in all honesty, fun to run. If you want to just say "♥♥♥♥ it, I'm letting my teammates do the work" or just want to watch the world burn while your allies die in front of you, this set's got you covered.

Set effect:
Leadership +10
Health +10

Genesis Set
Set Effect:
Fires actual laser beams(Gun)
Slower fall speed (Canister)
Higher jumps (Gear)
The gun shoots lasers. It's good. Slightly slower than the Joker barrel but trades that for increased damage. Did I mention it shoots lasers? That's the main draw. Not much to say. Gun is probably best in slot, everything else is alright. Canister especially.

Set Effect:
Concentration +10
Health+10

In closing
I'm glad I got to finish this when I did. The Star system is back. You need to use Rainbow drops to let equipment that are +99 surpass normal limits. The requirement is roughly 5 +95 weapons and 1 +20 weapon. I wouldn't say it's worth it to do so. Thanks to Amano Jack for telling me(and people who look in the comments) that. Even though the sharpness is increased by over a hundred, I've rarely noticed an increase in damage from using it. And it took almost an entire hour just to get it to 50 stars.

I should note a few things

  • Spamming the creation of Training Blades will not work anymore as equipment reinforcement is also based off of the quality of the equipment.
  • You can buy some Titan Materials now which cuts down the grind. But you will need a ton of cash.
  • Pay attention to how many Stars and what upgrade level your equipment is at. You'll need higher quality equipment to upgrade higher quality weapons and weapons that have been upgraded to past +25.
Addendum to the above: The most efficient way to level equipment up is to upgrade it at it's base rank. For example, if you want to make a Blood Rapier with 99*, upgrade the Spirit Blade first to 99* then work towards the Blood Rapier. Same for the Scabbard and Gear.

That's it for now. Now get slaying and thanks for reading!

@h3ntaihunter69 wemod or if you can find the old mrantifun trainers before he joined up with wemod are the cheat makers i have been using for like ~15 years now, have never had an issue and they always work and are very frequently updated and keep old versions available it's really nice, have most games within days of coming out

but tyvm for the guide.... i can't even fathom how long it took to level all the crap even with cheats it's taking me HOURS AND HOURS... i'm at like 67 hrs rn and only at 46% story completion/20% scout mission completion because i've been almost exclusively leveling the gear up... it's soooo painful lol

Couldn't find the answer anywhere else, so i'm going to ask here: What does precision do exactly for firearms? Yellow targets last for longer or something?
