Introduction
The Line is a sort of roguelike game where you have to reach the end of a queue. To gain a position you can exchange items, use experience points (called PSY) to discover the mental weakness of an enemy or fight for it. If you die during the advancing, you will start again from position 0 at the beginning of the game.

You can gain new ability using psy points, that can be gained from items (ink and pills) or having already ability to gain more psy from fights. Healing items such as food or baby food will help you to survive after a fight. The items are easily obtainable from rare loot boxes, in the form of desks, blue lockers or closed chests. Also some red holes can be digged for items and experience after winning an easy minigame (avoid the enemy while reaching the point).

The game will not tell you how to play or how it works, so following here you can have some tips and suggestions based on my play.
The price of Death
It is very important to understand what will be lost at each death, especially to power up early on in the game. The items will not be lost, for example, and this is positive. Loot boxes are a strange topic: at the beginning looks like they regenerate with new contents, but after finishing the first main area they instead appear all empty. Bug or rule?

Regarding the abilities, they will all reset except the fighting techniques (first top line in the picture), that are expensive, but will stay with you forever, even after death.

Also after each new reborn, the character will gain 11 new experience points ready to be used. If you start to have a strategy in mind, this is exactly what I will explain soon.

Understanding when to fight and when to wait
One of the most innovative features of this game is the concept of "advancing in the queue". Usually exchange items or understand the weakness are not the best strategy. You will lost important resources just to avoid one enemy, that maybe is duplicated in the next position.

Figthing every enemy is also impossible, because you will soon or later finish the health items. The best things to do, sometime, is just to wait. If you wait enough time, the queue will advance by itself, without having to lost items or health points. If the player simply wait more or less 3 minutes, the queue will advance, making disappear the person in front. An enemy is too strong? Just wait to make him disappear. Low health and no items? Just wait to advance till a new loot box. Tired of fighting? Just go to watch a movie and when you are back you will discover your advancement in the queue.

If you feel in a corner or are tired, just wait.
Which enemies are better to be avoided
The position of the enemies in the queue is random and will change every time. The problem is that the power of the enemies is very different. If mothers with a baby are very easy foes, while soldiers with a rod and tall women are medium adversary, a couple of enemies can be simply too strong at the beginning.

If you see a tall man or a woman dressed in black, it is better to just wait the 3 minutes to make them disappear. When you will have more points in Defence and Attack you can fight them easily, but at the beginning is a waste of time and energy.

So if you see them, wait!

Early and easy level-up
So now that you know some tricks, let's start with a strategy. First before proceeding it is important to stock-up items and to buy all the combat abilities. Catch the two loot boxes at the beginning (remember the one in the house) and the two close with the keys. These should give you some food and more importantly pills, to be trade for experience.

Now use the 11 points you have to buy the combat abilities of the first row. Even if you die, these will not be erased. After that, go to the first enemy in the queue... and just die. Repeat the process stocking up items from the loot boxes and then suicide. After you have enough pills, use them combined with the starting 11 points to buy all the abilities of the first row.

If you want, you can continue to stok-up pills and powerup, giving the priority to buy ability such as attack and defence up.

Now you are ready to face the queue!

I know it's been some time, but that's literally the only existing guide concerning this game, so may I ask: I keep getting stuck at screens like the pacman-esque dog minigame or the dog death screen without any possibility to click anything. Escape isn't working and neither do the other buttons. Am I missing anything or is it intentional for me having to manually close and restart the game over and over? It's kinda tedious like that and I'm genuinely trying to get into it.
