I'll see if I can find some time to revise it at some point. I wrote it...hoo, 5 years ago...wow. So, yeah, it's not up to date with the latest version at the moment.
In regards to the guide. This was very hepful for me. I reviewed the in game mini guide in the options menu about 5x and have played at least 7 games and still was really not connecting everything. I didn't realize that if you studied reason or passion that they come back to you and are not consumed. In the last 3 games I managed to get all kinds of cards with lore for the lantern aspect I believe...seem to always get pigeon holed. Way of the Wood book and dreaming takes you to a tree off the game board? That is the "family tree" of all the cults I think?
1st Time: Passion + Study = Passion + Skill: Imagination + Glimmering (?)
2nd Time: Passion + Study = Passion + Glimmering
3rd: Passion + Study = Passion + Glimmering
4th: Glimmering + Glimmering + Study = Lesson Learned + Passion
5th -- 7th: (same as 2 thru 4, need to get glimmering and another Lesson learned)
7th: Skill + Lesson Learned + Lesson Learned + Study = Better Skill + Passion
All said and done, you complete the 7 loops, you start with 1 passion, end with 3 passion
Then to upgrade the skill again and get another passion, (or other relevant skill) you need 3 lessons learned and so on. so it's much harder to gain bonus health, reason etc, as the lessons learned are also on a self destruction timer too
Try using lore items with the talk verb. You never know who you might meet when you share forbidden knowledge...but beware unwanted attention...
