Introduction
Zer0, the number is one of the most specialized classes. Zer0 is dependant on dealing damage with either guns, melee or both. His skillset allows for some of the highest damage in the game, however this is very hard to achive. This guide will discuss a couple of endgame builds.

Deception
This action skill is great for dealing massive damage in a single blow. This skill is used as an escape mechanism and damage skill which makes Zer0 such a powerful character. Deception gives a max of 650% extra melee damage, 200% extra damage and 250% extra critical damage.
Damage Build
Zer0 - The Assualt Assassin

This build focuses on gun and critical damage and uses melee skills to enhance gun damage.

Playstyle
This build can be used in both solo and co-op play. To initiate fights with bosses or groups of enemies, use kunai to mark targets and then use a powerful single shot weapon to deal massive damage. After this, switch to a SMG or a high fire rate, large magazine weapon to deal consistant high damage.

Melee Build
Zer0 - The Ninja

This build focuses purely on melee, however it is mainly uses are for groups of enemies and not bosses.

Playstyle
With this build, Zer0's playstyle is focused around staying in Deception for a long period of time, slicing up enemies and going back into Deception again. When Deception is on cooldown, take cover if a large amount of enemies are still up or finish off enemies if there are a few left. When using a roid shield, do not use Grim and instead put the remaining points in Ambush and Rising Sh0t.

Items
Zer0 Melee Item Layout
Standard Bee Layout
The standard item layout consists of specific roles for specific types of weapons.

Weapon Layout
  • Rocket Launcher
  • Sniper Rifle
  • High Fire Rate Weapon
  • Healing Weapon/Elemental Weapon
Rocket launcher is mostly used to get Second Wind. Sniper rifles are for long range combat and dealing Deception to deal massive damage. A high fire rate weapon should be used as a main weapon to dish out as much damage. Healing weapons are almost always nessary to get quicker healing and to not depend on healers.

Shields

The Bee
The Bee is an extremely powerful late game shield; ampifing damage when at full shields and having a 0 ampify drain, allows users to have ampified damage constantly, as long as their shields are full. This turns the user into essentially a glass cannon and should be used with caution, as it is easy to become damaged and downed because of the low shield capacity.

FYI for Zer0 players: when in Deception mode, you can throw grenades. This doesn't seem to end Deception (at least for me)!

Intesresting builds, though i'm surprised they're nothing like the one i made, wheres i rely on none of the last skills of each tree and focuses mainly on sniping and gun damage.

Hmm...honestly I don't remember why I added Grim. Maybe at the time I wrote this roid shields were not very popular.
Altairsky 4 Jul, 2014 @ 3:09pm
well a roid shield is... kind of mandatory in a *melee* build. It doesn't make sense to not use a melee shield in a melee build. Otherwise, the build is not fully melee.
