Managin' yer Juice
The first thing ye want to keep an eye on as a crawler is that there energy bar at the top of yer HUD. These ships are dangerous, and ye can't even breathe in em without luggin' around yer own life support. Stayin alive takes energy, and ye can only carry so much with ye.

Everythin' ye do takes energy, includin' Fightin'. Ye will want to keep an eye on yer Juice meter while yer out explorin', lest it runs out on yer way back to yer ship.

There are some tricks ye can use to save yer Juice. Firstly, ye don't have to search every nook an' cranny yerself! Ye've got a powerful scanning tool. Walk in' the middle of an enexplored area and pop that there scanner button. It costs energy, but it can reveal lots'a things ye might have missed if ye were diggin around blind, and it can tell ye where there's no loot to be had.

Secondly, if ye have to go lookin' on the other end of a derelict from yer ride home, bring along a few Energy Cells! They are not cheap, but they'll keep ye alive and give ye a chance to look around for more loot.

Fou....er, Thirdly......, ye can buy a fancy peice o' tech or three from the Pawn shop back home called a Generator. That fancy darlin' will let ye run, scavenge and fight all day long fer FREE once ye put her down, as long as ye stay close to her! Just don't expect to pick 'er back up again when yer finished....

In some of them nastier derelicts', ye can find massive piles o' junk just lyin' around, blockin' yer way. It takes a lotta juice to move em, and ye hadly find anything useful buried in with them piles. If ye take a Salvage Kit with Ye, ye can just use that to clear out that junk and save yer' juice. That nice lil' lunchbox o' goodies will get ye out of traps too!

The pawn shop also sells these fancy teleporters, they break if ye use 'em even once, but they'll take ye back to yer momma safe 'an sound if ye really need it.

Lastly, if yer feelin desperate, ye can salvage some of that junk ye find on the derelicts to get a small amount of energy. That little bit o' juice ye get fer "squeezin" yer salvage like a fruit is worth far less than the pretty penny ye'd get fer sellin that scrap back at home, so only do this when yer batteries are gettin' lower than the Mayor's standards! (Don't tell 'im I said that)
Buildin' yer Fightin' Deck
When yer just gettin' started, ye won't have much fancy gear to yer name. That'll change real quick once ye've salvaged a derelict or two fer all she's worth. Once ye've got lotsa gear to choose from, ye gotta start gettin' picky 'bout watcha bring back into them hellholes with ye. It's reaaaal temptin' te fill up every last pouch an' pocket with fancy guns, bombs, and crazy gizmo's. But carryin' that much ♥♥♥♥ with ye will only slow ye down an' get in yer way when the fightin' starts.

Think of it like this scavvie......

Say yer all loaded up with fancy gear, and ye get into a fight with some of them creepy walkin' dead folk. At first, yer havin' a great time blastin em. But then they get a few lucky swipes in and ye find yerself low on shields. If ye loaded yerself up with too much gear, ye might not have a shield restore in yer hand ready to use! In short, the more "cards" in yer deck, the less reliable ye become in a fight.

An old Scavvie like me's got a few tricks fer ye that'll keep yer britches on in a fight. Let me lay em' out fer ye:

Number 1: Keep yer deck trimmed an' clean.

Make sure every card ye put in yer deck has a purpose in a fight, having too many cards that do the same darned thing ain't gonna help ye if ye draw too many of em' at once. This means that sometimes ye gotta pass up on that nice lookin' energy sword, cuz it's got 5 cards that it gives ye but ye only really want one er two of em'. As a rookie, less is more. Once ye know what yer doin' ye can start usin' the other tricks to make some crazy decks...

Number 2: Keep an' eye our fer "Deck Engines".

A Deck Engine is a card that helps ye get the card ye want, when ye want it. They take the randomness out'a fightin, and make ye way better at stratergizin' when things get crazy! If ye take a scavvie' with ye as one of yer mates, their scavver' tool that they bring has two of them "Craft Supply" cards, which letcha draw 3 cards an' pick one te keep, ye even get to keep playin cards after ye use that one. It's a perfect example of a Deck Engine!

Number 3: Teamwork.

Yer' mates can help ye draw more cards in a fight too! Having a smooth talkin' leader in yer crew will let the other two carry waaaay more gear into battle and still have the cards they need.

Number 4: Energize.

Some cards can Energize ye when ther' played, these cards are very powerful, since they let ye use more than one card on yer' turn. Some card's have the work "Quick" in their name, like "Quick Strike" or "Quick Shot" or maybe even "Quick Snack" (I wish that one were true, too bad it's hard te' eat anythang with yer helmet on. Speaking of which, I remember one funny fella who propped a darned snack bag in his helmet to eat candies while out scavvin'!...... right, back on topic).

Number 5: Recycle.

Recycle is a nifty feature that lets'ya keep yer card after ye play it. If ye combine this here beauty with an Energize card ye've got the potential for some really scary decks. I remember seein' a team that could recycle nearly evr'y card they used due to some good ol' teamwork and weird space majik's. Their hunter would just stab monsters over an' over again with his "quick strike" card until they all just keeled over.

There's plenty more tricks ter use than what I've said for ye here, but I ain't gonna say em. Ye've gotta learn some things on yer' own te get anywhere in life. An' besides, I still go scavvin' fer a livin. What am I gonna do if ye young punks go out there an' take all the loot fer yerself!

I love the voice here!

BTW, here is an analysis of energy costs. (Energy cells are ONLY for emergencies!)
Small cell (100 energy) costs 35cc. 1 energy=.35cc
Large cell (300 energy) costs 105cc. 1 energy=.35cc
Energy refill at the station (100 energy) costs 10cc. 1 energy=.1cc

With the 150% energy upgrade: energy cells still cost 1 energy=.23cc
Energy refill does not change cost with upgrade.

Personally, I would just try REALLY HARD not to use your initial 2 cells unless you absolutely have to - most likely in a protracted battle.
