I've pulled it off almost consistently but there are a few blatant times where it's failed
You can killstreak them if you have one going and they attack and you do a disarm. You can then killstreak them.
Second easiest, which works if you're only fighting jägers and noone else, is grabbing muskets of other troops you've likely killed or muskets otherwise found nearby and shooting him. 2 or max 3 shots should do, and provided they're not close enough to interrupt you, is a painfree way.
But one thing you should take note of, is dealing with any other enemies fighting you , before dealing with the jäger, because trying to handle troops you can easily kill (or not, if you've got a few of those big guys and officers as well) while trying to fend off someone who requires precise methods to kill can be rather straining, especially if those weaklings will interrupt you while trying to kill him.
