Introduction
Hello.

Before you will start reading my guide i would like to say that the key audience of this guide usually belong to the category below:

1. Newbies.
2. People who speak English but it's not their native language.
3. Those who want more of tutorial/introduction type of guide with basic information/F.A.Q/Tips, rather than too detailed type of guide with fixed goal in mind, like guides made for one particular character, class, faction etc.

As always, i don't want to and won't make decision for you. It's up to you to decide how you will play the game. I am your friendly neighbour Spider-Man clearly not your game mentor.

UPDATE: I updated this game. Back when it was created my English was a lot worse. Also note that the game received few patches since i stopped playing it. Some things may not be 100% accurate. It's dead anyway.

This guide is finished.
Currency in the game
There are three currencies in the game.

1) Coins. Most common and easy to obtain. You can buy Motherboxes with them and they are needed for to unlock some Multiverse towers.
2) Guild credits. Those are for guild Motherboxes.
3) Source Crystals. Those are rare. You can spend them on shaders (character skins) that can't be unlocked just by playing game, Premier skins, gear transformation/regeneration or just to level up character to level 20 instantly (only if you already have at least one character with level 20).

To earn guild credits you must be a guild member. There are many guilds to choose.
Fastest way to get Source Crystals is to buy them with real money.
Motherboxes
Motherboxes is a loot system of Injustice 2.
There are many types of them and the better the Motherbox is, the better/more gear you will get.
Multiverse mode is a good place to get Motherboxes.
Gear
Gear can be be earned just by playing, from Multiverse events and from Motherboxes.

If you have a lot of gear with lows stats or bad in general, then you can regenerate gear with regeneration tokens. Regenerated gear will be same level as your character and with higher stats. If you have sword level 5 and character level 20 for example, then your sword will become level 20 sword after regeneration.
Main problem is that regenerated gear has different stats after each regeneration. It can increase previously increased stats or decrease them and boost other stats instead. You will spend many tokens to get desired gear.

Transformation is cosmetic option. You can make your new mask look like your default level 1 mask. Nothing complicated.
Characters
It's very stupid decision to pick characters that you don't like of course or those you do like, but you can't play good enough as them.
However, if you want noob-friendly characters then here are a few that i can recommend.

1) Batman
Close combat character with good speed. Has ranged attack and counter-attacks. Easy and strong combos. He is considered "Well-Round/Balanced" type of character.

2) Supergirl
She has some ranged attacks and annoying teleport attack (from behind). (If you are fine with spamming and want victory by any means then she is good) She's a good starter choice overall. Scorpion of Injustice 2.

3) Green Arrow
Has some easy combos, very easy to change arrows/use bow. Good speed. "Balanced" type like Batman.

4) Darkseid... ruler of Spammokolips.
Eyebeam + teleport + minion combos is the best spam combo. Of the of the best zoners i encountered online. Also the the best damn spammer and probably the most annoying and dumb character i saw in Injustice 2 and probably in NRS games. The trick is that he is also of the strongest characters in game (stats-wise). Highest health stat.
He can punish you in close combat and ranged combat.

5) Black Canary
Has good and easy combos, good special attacks and easy to use special power. Well-Round.

Some of the characters that you shouldn't use

1) Joker
Too slow, trait is crap/useless, slow special attacks.

2) Captain Cold
Fine in some good hands. Otherwise he is bad. Not fast enough, not good enough for zoning, not good for rushing and you can just move away from his "ice traps".

3) Poison Ivy
Zoning is average at best. Speed is average at best. There are much better alternatives.

4) Cheetah
Good speed, good close combat (?), she has one jump special attack aka "Dodge projectile". However, she has no projectiles and Catwoman/Black Canary can replace her well.

6) Bane
Good on paper, not so good on practice.
He is weak against zoners, he is below average/weak against rushers and most (if not all) well-round characters can beat him.
He is close combat character, but he's too slow for such role. Not newbie-friendly.

7) Grodd
Just not for newbies.
Meter burn
You can use it not only for super move but also to roll, to amplify your special attacks, for clashes and to get up.
AI Battles
Nothing critical. I just want to tell you that can try 30 Combos/30 Counters build. If that won't work then try builds based on character strong side.

Example:

Deadshot = Mostly zoning.
Robin - Rushdown, combos.
AI Loadout
I highly recommend you to not waste your time and nerves in some battles and use AI instead. Relax and let your slaves grind for you. Macros can help a lot in towers by skipping some menus.

You can customize AI loadout the same way you customize your main gear.
To choose AI to fight for you press X (Xbox) or Square (PS) and then change your loadout 1 to AI loadout 1.
Stats
There are four stats. They are:

1) Strength- Normal attacks damage.
2) Ability- Special attacks damage.
3) Defense- Damage reduction while blocking.
4) Health- Increased health / damage amount you can take.
Practice
That's a top priority.
Complete all tutorials and character specific tutorial.
Learn combos.
Practice on Hard and Very Hard difficulty and later with real players (competitive modes).
Ping
Check other players ping and you own if possible.
It's not fun at all to play against players with high ping. It feels slow (Input delay) and if ping is too high, player with high ping can get disconnection.
How to play with PS4 icons
Steam library > Game properties > Forced off.
Guilds
By completing guild events you will you receive guild boxes.
They are same as normal boxes, with same content. Just more things to farm.
Zoner or spammer?
Difference between spamming and zoning is simple.

Zoners goal is too keep you away/far. Outside of player "zone" or inside specific "zone" if you prefer.
They are not the best close fighters (Deadshot is a good example). Either slow or have weak/lack of decent combos.

Spammers are zoners that can use ranged attacks too often and usually too fast. The line between zoner and spammer is thin.

Aquaman is good zoner. Deadshot is a good one too.
They are balanced well in comparison to some other zoners.
In case of Darkseid, he can shoot forward, upward and downward and if opponent is too close, then he can just teleport behind him, use few close attacks and repeat this cycle.
Not to mention that he has minion (trait) that is very useful.
Combine that with his highest base health stat and it should be clear why he is one of the strongest characters in the game. Reason why i hated him a lot.

It looks like many dlc characters are good for spamming too.
This game has a lot of DLC characters and i stopped playing before NRS ended their support (DLC/Patches). Not well informed about current situation with characters.
Online
Before you jump into online matches here is a basic list of what you should know by the time you start playing against real players.

1) Practice with at least Hard AI and always win when you play as your main character.
2) Complete all tutorials + your character specific tutorial.
3) Learn many combos or few strongest combos. The more combos you know, the better. Higher chance to win.
That's very important for Rushdown type of characters like Robin and some "balanced"/well-round characters like Batman. They can't rely on zoning/spam whatever and so "close and personal" is your style.
4) Don't forget to use rolls, wakeups and meterburned specials (some are good to start/continue your combos). Many players ignore this or forget (like myself sometimes ^_^ ).
5) Have one main character!!! In fighting games, everyone has their own single character that they use online. Unless you are a true talent, you won't get far by trying to master few characters at once. Alternative/pocket characters are not a bad idea. I should have corrected this but my English back then was a lot worse than today, and so i made a small mistake in my guide when i suggested more than one main. I meant second character for some difficult situations.
6) Play competitive modes. In those modes stats, gear etc are disabled. Fair match.
7) Don't complain if your butt was kicked. You play against real players. There were too many complaints.
All that is important for many players is victory. If it's not fun for you to improve your skills, then play with friends or with bots. In the end we all must agree on this.
From personal experience i can honestly say that it's fun to play against good players. You can learn something from them and even kick their asses later. Not from all of them of course. Lost match can also be a fun match. I picked my character after i played against good player with same character. In a game with tons of dumb things it looked like that guy really tried hard to kick some butts.
Questions - Answers
Q: Why it laggs on character customization screen? (Solved by now?)
A: Because of abilities. Some character abilities lag. I don't know why exactly but if you remove that specific ability, then it won't lag.

Q: My buttons are messed up/not working.
A: Try to play in Big Picture mode. It helped me personally many times and i hope it will help you too.

Q: I can't use combos/Combos are slow and other combo related problems.
A: Few possible solutions.
1. Try to play offline and then online and check if there is any difference. If there is, then check your opponent ping and fps.
2. Try to play with enabled/disabled "Release Check" options. Do the same with "Input Shortcuts" option.
3. Try another gamepad.

Q: Why when i play Online everything is slow. (Solved?)
A: Remove new abilities. It's the same story as with lags on customization screen.
I can't tell much about opponent lagging gear. It's possible that he will have to remove new abilities too.
