In this alternate history scenario, Alabama never left French control, instead of losing Alabama to the Spanish as in our timeline, they lost Louisiana, but kept their holdings in Mobile and the Creek territory in the north. In 1789, during the revolutions in France, Louis XVI fled to Mobile, forming a French nation in exile in Alabama, falling in love with the colony, after Napoleon fell in 1815, and Louis XVI returning to France to rule once again with British help, Alabama was granted a status as a protectorate kingdom, Alabama was ruled by a succession of rulers sanctioned by the French monarchy until 1870, after the Franco Prussian war Alabama gained her independence, but staying as a monarchy, in 1914 at the outbreak of hostilities in Europe, the Kingdom of Alabama sent four divisions to aid in the defense of France. After the hell that was the great war, Alabamian soldiers returned to a hero's welcome. Alabama, unlike France, stayed staunchly catholic till the present day, and Catholicism drives the men and women of Alabama to fight hard. The Kingdom of Alabama must modernize quickly to stand a chance int he coming war, will she help her old protector france, or perhaps go down a new path? that's up to you to decide! Vive l'Alabama!
