Path of the Damned Build Guide - How To & Crucial Mechanics
Por Haas
Full Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mucTcHyzl8

In this relatively short guide I go over all the important mechanics you need to understand to get through Path of the Damned without major issue. This is not specific for any type of niche build, they're general tips you probably should heed regardless of what you want to play.

Anything from important defenses (Light armor > Deflection, Parry) to experience mechanics and talent choices is discussed.

Up to date for the latest Bastard's Wound addition/1.2 patch.

Do you have a write up of the guide? All I see is a video.

Dude, I lost my mind at "Deflection can double dip". Now, I love this game and the setting (and I agree it deserves better/a sequel at the least), but who in their right mind decided deflection should be able to, say, reduce a CRIT to a Graze in one go?

Yeah, no wonder deflection is so good and finesse (IIRC) is the best stat. For clarification, I usually play the game at normal and at times it could already be fairly challenging but, as you can expect, I wasn't really super-optimizing or micromanaging like I could be. Regardless, knowing something like this can drastically reduce difficulty and also kinda explains why as I leveled up (and consequently pumped finesse) I quickly stopped having so many issues lol

Tyranny has to have the worst leveling system out of any game I've ever played. The funny thing is that the original system was really bad because it had a strong incentive to just stack more and more HP since the more damage you took the more your defensive skills, spells and healing spells would generate xp and thus you'd level a whole lot faster. Introducing scaling enemies made the system even worse. I hate Tyranny with a passion, precisely because it was ruined by completely idiotic design. A shame, the setting was amazing and deserved a lot better game.

Wow! I did the exact opposite of what was suggested and had no problems getting through after Act I. Even the difficult scene there was chosen (killing Matani). My main character ended up with about 175-180 points in both Lore and Two handed weapons. Barik and Verse were also up well over 100 in both Lore and their weapons (two handed for Barik and both Dual and Bow for Verse).

A caution with the approach in the guide is that if a fighter is disarmed or trapped behind other folk, then he becomes useless. Similarly, a mage can be silenced.

I maximized wit, might and quickness so that folks could use their skills as often as possible. The incremental accuracy gained with finesse is much less than that obtained with improving rank in your chosen skill area so I minimized that. Both my main character and Landry used bronze body armor as well.

I agree with the other comment that mirror image is very useful.
