There is an impractical amount of weapons, shards, and other inventory items - as in, there is an inconvenient amount to experiment with that don't even have that different of fighting style or stats. I was irritated at having to entering a room 50 times to get random items that I couldn't buy at the store (like apples). Mechanics like that are tedious, not engaging. And the boss fights felt long and slow, not exciting and engaging. It just wasn't fun to play.

This game was extremely frustrating at first, but then I became obsessed with completing 100% of it.

The edges of the rooms look like you can walk to the left or right when you can't. It's an extremely weird and frustrating design choice. And the game doesn't let you properly back track. When I realized I needed to level up my health to beat a boss, I couldn't get back to the prior two levels to make myself stronger. So I just died a lot instead (and not in the fun, learn from your mistakes kind of way - the boss just got boring, even as I kept dying).

Simple, but extremely fun to play.

A thoroughly enjoyable game. Far more difficult platforming from the first one, but same level/style of fighting.
