A delightfully short and simple adventure that has cute pixel art and a cozy atmosphere. Garden Story does not excel in any one category but has a solid enough foundation here to provide an entertaining experience. There are, however, some minor negatives that while not a deal breaker, should be acknowledged. Gathering materials and fulfilling board requests is mundane and repetitive, there is a lot of back and forth, and almost everything outside the main content is padded filler. It also feels like a small quality of life update is missing, especially with various small errors, minor bugs, and the lack of Steam Cloud support.

The vibrant style, detailed presentation, and sensational auditory experience that is Transistor make for one of the most beautiful narrative-driven linear stories to date. I cannot stress just how exceptional the narration, music, and sound design are, only further enhanced with headphones. Moreover, the creative direction and concept art make just as bold of a statement. The combat and skill customization, even in repetition, never overstay their welcome in these several hours. However, you might feel as though the action loses momentum if you are striving for completion. And while the story might be simple, the character relationships and writing will leave a lasting impact.

Overflowing with style and charm, Donut County provides a short, sweet, and relaxing experience. There is clear attention directed towards its presentation and casual nature. A lot of creative expression and careful design are packed into these few hours. Unfortunately, despite achieving what it set out to accomplish, the balance between game length and price is the only major drawback. Expanding on challenges and content would have been welcomed. However, I genuinely feel that this does not justify a negative response. There is just so much artistic style and detail seen here. For this reason, I would highly recommend picking this up when on sale.

Despite being simple in concept, and having a familiar straightforward progression, SteamWorld Dig excels at providing a condensed, time-friendly experience, with a lot of charm. The movement is fluid, with mechanics being easy to understand. While certainly not boasting new revolutionary ideas, this game does feel right at home with other titles in the genre. I am happy to say that this is a joy to speedrun, and almost entirely welcoming to completionists, despite a few minor inconveniences. There is a nice degree of polish here. This is good fun that will last you a few evenings. Would recommend picking this up when on sale.

While the comments claiming DRM Enigma as a virus are misinformation, and there is no current evidence of it being malicious, it is still unacceptable to include this after purchase without notice or consent. Furthermore, Capcom using the lowest common denominator that has little to no information about them to "protect" their old already cracked titles is a surefire way to not only lose money but also customer satisfaction. An unfortunate lose-lose scenario. The only people that this hurts are the dedicated fan base that purchased the game. To make it clear, the Battle Network games are amazing. Adding DRM under these circumstances is not.
