I haven't played this game since the days it first came out. It was one of my biggest introductions to an open world game, yet still hold a linear story line so well. It engrosses the player in nostalgia as well as a sense of structure. No side quests really take away from the story or detract from the overall experience. I imagine playing only the story missions to blast through would still give the desired effect, but the sprinkled in little side quests are pleasant and if anything, helps you become more accustomed to the setting more.

Perhaps this is a bit more of a personal bias, but ubisoft really struck gold with the Ezio trilogy, and seeing these humble beginnings reminds me of a simpler time of coming home from school and immediately rushing to do my homework as fast as possible so as to be able to play ac2 on the xbox 360. Wouldn't change a thing... ok, maybe the side characters could get a bit of a touch up. Them wrapped textures on those polygons be lookin ROUGH
