Gameplay-wise, this is a decent game. Story-wise? Not so much.

Some metroidvania elements are really getting on my nerves, but that's to be expected in an exploration-based game. Some platforms don't work as intended, but can be traversed nonetheless, you just have to find the right trick. There's a bug on Nova Garon, where you end up outside the map if you want to jump-attack an enemy below the vent you're in-you just jump right through the model. All of these problems are minor.

What I hated the most were the villains. The most interesting one (still nowhere near Trilla, character-wise) dies first, despite having potential for becoming a redeemable character. The most boring one dies second without making a lasting impact on the story whatsoever. The most obvious one dies last, and fights in a way that looks like he could bag Vader himself.

The writing itself is flawed. One would have to be an idiot to not see the "BIG TWISTS" coming. XXXX being a traitor was obvious right after he became the sole surviving member of Cal's team. Him being a former Jedi was obvious after the Lucrehulk mission (if you know how physics works)

In any case, Cal becomes increasingly less interesting and more predictable as a character, to the point of making the third part of the story almost feel redundant. We all know how it will unfold, unless they hire better writers this time around. I still think (and I thought so right after finishing Fallen Order) that having an Empire-centered story with Trilla as the protagonist would be much more interesting. The tragedy of Star Wars is that the "good guys perspective" is getting stale.

I still recommend playing this - it's better than Outlaws. Just don't expect a masterpiece.

Only if you love Lovecraft, don't have high standards, and get it on sale.

This game has problems. Seriously...

CONTROLS SUCK: Sidestepping triggers walking. LMB is interaction button. You need to hold LMB down for some time instead of just click-interact. Overall, controls suck.

MAP: is too big and too empty. This game suffers for trying to be what I consider an AC/Deus Ex hybrid: A game that could work as level-based episodic story, set in an open world where there's nothing to do except driving a boat.

The idea and story are good however. Plus, I love Lovecraft, so this one was a nobrainer for me. Still, hope the sequel is much better.

Edit: If you like supernatural detective angle, I suggest you get Murdered: Soul Suspect instead. It's a much better game in every aspect except Lovecraft

Great game. Too bad it's so unnoticed it'll never get a remaster or remake. If this one got good treatment, it would send AC franchise to the depths of hell.

Absolutely perfect in every aspect, except for one: Could've been 100+ hours long campaign. Without it, it's just a mere 9.9/10.

Requested refund.

I am yet to play more boring, tedious, clunky, and buggy game, with plot breaking logical error introduced 5 minutes in, and with combat system that sucks harder than a vacuum cleaner. Save your money. Don't buy.

Wanted to give Remedy another chance after Quantum Break, because I really loved Control, but meh. The only money they'll ever see from me again will be for Control 2+ (and only if it doesn't turn into some woke bile).

Enjoyed my time with the game. Never encountered a single bug. Not a single frame drop.

It's not for everyone though. I can imagine those who say the story is boring aren't fans of anime. I am, so the story and its execution really scratched the itch. It feels distinctively Japanese in all aspects.

If you are a fan of everything Japanese and actually know a bit about the culture, especially the modern urban culture, go for it.

GOG Galaxy needed for purchases. REDLauncher needed to play. GOG account needed to play. Draft sucks harder than a black hole. The fact that you basically waste resources, because kegs give the same cards over and over again, which get auto-milled for a fraction of the card value for crafting is mind-crushing. When it comes to currency management, tree climbing, and ranked, it sucks even harder than MtGA (both money and in principle), and my opinion of MtGA is as low as they get.

After several hours more: Uninstalled. Hidden. Forgotten.

Early Access Review
The game is dead. Nobody's playing it. Been stuck in lobby for hours, nothing. At this rate, the devs could at least make the singleplayer earn coins for new packs. I refuse to pay for singleplayer cards, even though I'd like to collect a few of them and out of nostalgia play a few bot games. The other option is to make the game a 5 bucks offline piece and unlock all cards. With the current model, it's a scam making money from a half-assed alpha version with no actual updates.

Once you edit the .ini file (instructions to be found on steam) for 60 fps, better resolution of textures, better shadows, less crashes, and special edition TRUE for the first game and DLC dresses, it's great. If you don't want to bother with that, just go away and curse EA.

P.S. - always go for the arms first, otherwise you break the game and have to start from scratch (luckily, this occurs like 50 minutes in, around 4% completion, so...) - Playing with PhysX on LOW and Motion Blur off also helps. And if the issue continues, just turn Dynamic Shadows off for that one section.

With the exception of one particular toxic, childish, selfish, self-centered NPC, who you can't send to the happily-ever-♥♥♥♥-off, and are basically reduced to kiss her butt into oblivion, this game is good. It has always been good, but right now it's damn near perfection.
