I grew up in the Carnival business. My uncle owned a carnival that played mostly in western NY until 1988. It was truly a family business, my uncle owned the rides. While my aunt owned all the food stand. My uncle's father owned all the game trailers. Then there was cousins and sisters and brothers all over the midway. The name of the carnival was Ketch Shows Carnival, based out of Odessa, FL. It was a long time ago, but it's something that gets into your blood. It was hard work with long hours. I only worked during the summer and in limited jobs, i was really young. But i truly miss the sights and sounds and the community, it was a lot of fun.
