This game is pretty good and lots of fun, despite the minor clunkiness in aiming and other small nitpicks (like better indication when taking damage) which I’m hoping will be ironed out soon.

I played with controller which might not be as good as mkb but even so it was surprisingly good (from what others were saying I was expecting a bad time aiming with controller). Don’t get me wrong, the aiming issues are still there for some characters but the one I used was playable just fine and I was able to clear a run with her after just a few hours.

Was a bit shocked that this didn't have more reviews/players.
Pretty short game with low replayability, but is quite fun, looks great, controls well and overall has a Good-Feel (ba dum tshh).

Excellent metroidvania. Easily earns a spot in the S tier.

Good game. If you likes Afterimage, you'd probably enjoy this.

Hey, I dunno what to say. I enjoyed this game a lot. Beautiful pixel art and really good music. Combat felt good to me being a SOTN fan.
What other people say is true;
A bit on the easy side. The last few bosses were dead by the time I even looked up at their health bars lol. A bit underwhelming but it didn't bother me a whole lot.
Lots of reading but I just button mashed through it all and it didn't ruin the experience for me.
Game is on the short side. Some people prefer games to not overstay their welcome. But I'm the kind of metroidvania player that loves massive maps like Afterimage.
Overall I enjoyed Gestalt a bit more than some recent-ish MVs - 9 years of shadows, Mobius machine, momodora moonlit farewell

Two guys set out to make the best game they could and I think it's safe to say they succeeded.
The way bullets use color and the circle in them to give you tangible information about them is really clever. More bullet hells should employ this feature.

Pretty solid metroidvania. Graphics are good, as well as movement and gunplay are satisfying.
As someone who values exploration the most in MVs, it was quite open here and you could wander around to your heart's content.
It's not a bad MV by any means; however a few small things that fell short for me were:

Exploration is rewarded with only two things - blueprint fragments and currency. Oftentimes I would platform up to a spot only to get more currency I didn't actually need so I was never excited for it. Blueprint pieces were only useful once you had 3 of a kind. I would have preferred smaller increases in power for each piece you found so you feel like you're slowly getting stronger. Both of the above, whichever I found never really felt exciting unless it completed a blueprint I was looking forward to.

Some sort of side quest like finding some random macguffins around the biomes to repair a machine or collect keys to open a special door or any other type of collectibles would've added variety and broken up the monotony.

I think the foundation of the game is super solid and the devs did a banger of a job, but it would've benefited from depth in certain areas like build customization, items to buy and equip to your weapons, etc for variety.

Really had a great time. I skipped it for about a year since tactical/cover shooters aren't my jam so the game's manual reload didn't appeal to me, but glad I ended up giving it a try.
Gunplay feels great. Graphics and style are really cool too.
You can turn on automatic reload in settings - literal game changer for me.
I was glad for easy mode; and laser weapons which have very fast reloads. More of those please. Or better yet, no reloading and infinite shooting lol. And maybe a roguelite mode with waves of increasing enemies. Yeah, that's my jam. Will pay for that dlc lol.

Loads of fun. Took me roughly 45hrs to get all achievements. Well worth the asking price.
Weapons, combat and movement are satisfying (like a 7/10). Movement in 2.5D games is sometimes hard to get right but this is pretty solid and feels good.

Decent variety of melee weapons and guns to finish the game. For more replayability you'd probably want more for variety.

Endless mode is a nice addition. I was glad it was there for a few extra hours of play. But it can become monotonous so it might not appeal to everyone.

The items you pick up on runs are satisfying and not just simple stat increases.
If you've played roguelites like Fallback Uprising or Deflector, the items function a lot like those games in the sense that the items are less about deep, specific synergies and more like they're just good to have regardless of build.
For example, if you wanted to create a high damage/attack build, you can pick all the attack items but you'll still have a ton of slots for health, crit, energy and retaliation items. You'll be able to pick up the majority of items every run (which can feel samey) but it will never negatively affect your build.
