This game still holds up. I never played it when it first came out, since I didn't even have this software when this game came out, but I highly recommend it. Even with it being so old now, it's still a blast. I did not know to expect as I had never seen a play through before. Part of the fun is being blissfully unaware and just along for the ride. I'd like to say it's pretty chill but because I felt the need to go to every length to get 10/10 achievements and every ending, no. To be honest the deluxe edition seemed to overwhelming for my completionist self, and too expensive, so I went with this one. Will probably play deluxe in the future. All I can say is the serious table is hella serious, like my guy is genuinely not messing around.

Damn.. that. That happened. Well... I just finished this game and I'm still trying to process everything-- but hey, what better time to give my opinion on it, right? I'm at a complete loss for words, but here I am. I was unsure whether to be disgusted, sad, or angry by the end of everything. I of course had to read some theories and opinion based explanations, partially to gain for understanding and partially to verify my own thoughts. Let me start by saying this is the heaviest game I have ever played. Heavy on emotion, content, reality, art, and scares. Ultimately; heavy on concept. The ideas that this game so brilliantly puts forward are extremely disturbing to say the least, but give off emotional reactions and stimuli in such a way that every single person who plays this game will understand what the crew members felt during the whole incident. The style may be out there, the graphics may be unique, but I assure you every aspect of this game is carefully crafted to convey a certain atmosphere and tone, one that is only unique to this game.My rambling is for verification of what a horrifically amazing work of art 'Mouthwashing' is, and is vague in hopes of not spoiling the ending; as I truly believe experiencing this game with no previews or prior information is what made it so shocking and vile in the way it was intended to be. I have so much to say about this game, but have written quite enough already. I will confidently say this is the best horror title I have played. So much going on, so many visuals, so many audio aspects, so many messages and relationships and foreshadowing conveyed perfectly through all of these details. Wow. Horrifying. Absolutely terrifying in the most impressive and intricate way. Go play it! (as long as you aren't faint of heart)

Reading reviews on Gone Home huh? Just get it. It's only 14.99, just do it. You won't regret one penny of it. This is truly the best game I have ever played (and I've played a lot of games). I was hooked from the very beginning. I saw a play-through a couple years back and I instantly fell in love with the game. As I grew older, I began to identify with it more and more. This game is living proof that a virtual experience can be nothing short of a masterpiece. The story line is so heartfelt and emotional that it will keep you clickin' away on those items. You will be determined to figure out what happens at the end once you start to develop an attachment to Sam and Lonnie. The 1990s aesthetic makes the game feel nostalgic and authentic in a way that no other game has been able to pull off. At the time of this review, It's been years since I played through and I still think about it from time to time. Enough to come back and write a review so I guess that's really something. I want to thank Fullbright and everyone involved with this game as well. Thank you for making such a beautiful work of art that I will never forget. Also I love the new soundtrack vinyl, the artwork is so cool and I can't stop listening. If you read this whole thing, you are pretty cool, but if you haven't made up your mind on playing it by now I question your standards. :)

I'll start off by saying this game is a must buy for anyone who enjoys narrative games or walking simulators. If that happens to be you, look no further for your next adventure. The voice acting is realistic and easy to listen to. Mix that with the a heart-wrenching story and unique graphics and you have this wonderful hidden gem of a game. It will make you smile and cry at the same time. What Remains of Edith Finch is emotionally confusing in the best way possible. (The game is SHORT! just a warning, finished in about 2.5 hours of playtime)

10/10
