I purcased this game in preorder-the Grand Slam Edition with three day pre-early acces. I didnt believe, that i will write this review in other way around as i expected in the beggining.
Top Spin 2k25 at first looked like being a good game after waiting for another decent tennis game or 13 years. The gameplay itself is OK" but far from being great. The characters like Sharapova and Wiliams are owerpowering online community since they have boosted atributes to no end. A lot of characters like Federer, Swiatek, Graff, Coco, look weak in the game, since they dont have thoes strengths, as they had in real life. As for how pro characters appear ingame are another story. Pete Sampras for example, looks like some dude from Mafia game and not like Pete Sampras in real life. Same goes for many other characters. Developers didnt even bother too make unike voice and grunts too their counterparts. Agassi for example has the grunt and voice as the voice u have available in custom character creation. Then there are few others pro players who have exacly same voices. Presentation of trophy when u win ANY tournament is exacly the same - same women same trophy exacly same presentation - what the hell 2k? in 2024 - 13 year old tennis games have better done that. Then there is this speciality in Top Spin 2k25, you CANNOT -u heard right -U CANNOT play single player mode in the game such as Career mode" in offline mode. Meaning, game demands you too have internet connection on and being signed into an account too play single player modes when nothing from online is needed. This is biggest mistake they made. Offline single player should always be available offline. U cut of internet, youre stuck with only one normal play mode , wich is exibition mode". Its ridicoulus. Online is crap-there is no doubles-players are abusing overpowered characters, abusing online points when quitting matches, so many bugs and glitches im not gonna even count them. Also after 13 years, where certain tennis games like Virtua Tennis 4 already had different ball/player behaviour on court depends on the surface you play -clay, grass, hard court, this new Top Spin does NOT. Ball bounces EXACLY THE SAME on all sourfaces. This is ridicoulus. Also online ranking matches are set too play 2 sets wich is way to long and game has this feeling" thats its not really adictive, and you get boored very quickly. This game seems its been made in a rush, not really with the heart and devotion (like top spin 4) and its nothing but average. Not worth your money. Prolly better be off playing older tennis masterpieces like Top spin 4, Virtua Tennis 3, 4 or even Tennis world tour 1-all have better adiction too replay it wich new Top Spin 2k25 does not have. If i knew what i know now, i prolly would never buy this game. SEGA, please make Virtua Tennis 5 and save us ALL :)

I wrote two sentences in my review last year, but this game deserves more then that. I have been playing Virtua tennis series for almost two decades. Masterpiece started with Virtua tennis 3, wich imo is still very much addictive as it was in 2007 when it got a release.
Well when Virtua tennis 4 hit the shelves, my feelings at first was mixed. Game felt different then its predecessor, while more and more i got into it, the more i realized, that VT4 gameplay has more depth and with AI being more inteligent. AI modifies gameplay according to the scores and also the playstyles of players / caracters in VT4 are very different between them. The only thing i miss a little, is the dificulty in AI in VT4. While Virtua tennis 3 had monster dificulty with AI (especialy in final tournaments+two bosses who are crazzy hard in that game), the VT4 had little less crazzy dificulty, but at the same time, its "just right" , in order for you to enjoy it and replay it over and over again, with less frustration.
What i love about the game (offline mode) is, that u can always create yourself a challenge-even after 10 years mastering the gameplay, you can always create a challenge for yourself. Picking "Boss" caracter or any other with harder style, while u pick lower playstyle caracter, game becomes interesting even after so many years. Thats where difference between playstyles comes in handy. World tour is great, mini games are fun, and it gets you to replay it over and over again, using different playstyles. Arkade mode is fun ,since AI is harder in arkade mode then it is in exibition mode.
Online code written by SEGA is amaizing. Maybe its based on "stupid" GFWL system, but when it comes to the conectivity between players, lag or frame inputs its amaizing. U can even play tennis online for example with a player in Japan with one in Europe.-it works! Quite a few players still have online so much fun (singles, doubles) after 11 years of its release, since many consider this game still best tennis game to date! Sega what r u waiting for. Make another!!!!

Tennis world tour 2 is actually called AO tennis 3. Why? Beacose basic mehanics, timing, movement of the players, animations, ball speed, ridiculus unbalanced different type of shots are inherited from AO tennis, wich comes handy for the programers, since developers are the same guys who made AO franchise.
This game when it comes to gameplay, has nothing in common from its predecessor, in fact it is completely AO cover. So, if u didnt like AO tennis, u prolly wont like this one either. The gameplay feels like playing on paper, balls dont feel any weight on it, slice speed is completely ridiculus. Maybe if they fix timing, to be more easy to learn/thus more fun and less frustrating, then it would became playable at least. Right now it isnt. Original developers should make the sequel and improve everything what was wrong in TWT1. Instead AO crew made just AO cover of the basic version of TWT1. I dont think this game will ever have any TWT gameplay. Even if they make 1000 patches in the future, they will change everything except mehanics of the gameplay, wich is the core of TWT1. Ok, Grafic is good, rooster is BIG but right now, i enjoy more playing broken online TWT1 and offline rather then this TWT2 (AO) cover. Maybe patches will bring changes worthy of playing, but right now, my hopes are far from high.

I have the very last released Rolland Garros Complete Edition. All i can say about this game is that its really good and that it definetly has a lot of potential to be BIG, if Breakpoint decides to updated it, wich dosent seem like they will. The gameplay mehanics is really good with all thoes skill cards system in combination of stamina , rackets, and playstyle. The grafic is great, the rooster of players available in game is exellent, more then 30 available, incl thoes 3 new players added as DLC recently and for free (Garcia, Shapovalov in De Minaour), wich is a nice move from BigBen. Im playing Career mode for some time now and i barelly see much bugs (exception for slice button wich produces sometimes regular flat shot). If they added more representation animations for winning and loosing matches/tournaments, with some minor updates of the gameplay and BIG updates for ONLINE play, i would definetly play this online a lot more then i do for now. I only wish they would do one more bigger update.
