I mean.. it's good. It needs polish, and there's a lot that can be improved, but the movement is very solid and the gameplay premise is not bad at all. I don't have much time (and most of it didn't record for some reason) but what I did do, I enjoyed a hell of a lot. Despite what the game is missing, it's a finished game, and I had fun. Easy, easy recommend, especially for the low, low, price of free.

The game is just so good. It's smooth, well-made, the levels are fun, and the story is absolutely phenomenal. The music is just too good. The graphics are great. The humour is great. The combat is perfect. I can't overstate the quality.
That being said, the best parts of the game come in when you start speedrunning the game. I know that sounds like it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's really really easy to get the game time down by using the Speedrun mode and practising. It's just so smooth and even though it's a one-hit kill, you feel unstoppable. It's very comparable to Hotline Miami, but with more heavy and movement-heavy gameplay (and it is very very clearly inspired by Hotline Miami).
The extra features of the game, being the Hard Mode and the challenge sections, are just so immaculately done. They do exactly as advertised and are just so good at it. I won't lie, I didn't get into the game immediately, but once you get the mechanics down, it's unbeatable. It just screams "cool", and is.

Disregarding the obvious Oceangate joke, the game is great. beautifully atmospheric, conceptually fantastic, and the horror and tension is absolutely perfect. A blind run of this game is just great, and as such I absolutely recommend it. The best elements of David Szymanski's work are all here; the tension, the premise, the minimalist environment, the perfect sound design, the focus on the unknown.

That being said, there is a few issues, the two central (and admittedly, maybe unavoidable) flaws being the complete loss of a sense of danger after a few crashes into a wall, and the lacklustre ending. It's probably the only way to end the game, but it's a dramatic departure from the way Szymanski's games are usually done, and it feels cheap. That being said, it could absolutely be me being butthurt about getting jumpscared.

Look, either way, you get a comfortably short, atmospheric-driven horror that's done very very well. I would recommend other DS games, namely Fingerbones and Music Machine, over it, but either way you'll have a hell of a time. Definitely a recommend. Don't puss out like I did and retreat into a discord call when you get too scawed.

It's one of the most simplified rhythm games I've ever played, but that's what makes it so good. The gameplay is so uncomplicated yet so fun. Two buttons, great animation, and very very solid level designs, and the devs giving this away for free? It's almost ludicrous that a trailer for another game is a phenomenal game in and of itself.
But the centerpiece, as for any great rhythm game, is the soundtrack, and man, it slaps. Every track is just so good, and has this perfect early 2000-s teen garage vibe which absolutely fits the game. Obviously because it's more small scale than whatever the devs are planning, the story is fairly half-baked and unfulfilled, but who cares? The songs are great, the levels are great, and the different challenges are absolutely great. An easy play, or your money back!

Just an awesome mod. The singular downsides it allows for a lot of glitches, and the puzzles are not always clinical enough for you to be sure that you solved it in the right way, but the premise is fantastic and it really does feel like classic portal reinvented. I would absolutely recommend, this is a must play for any fans of the Portal franchise.

Short, surreal, very, very funny, creepy, thrilling, visceral. It doesn't give you enough time to find something wrong with it, and at that price? It's a no brainer. Play this game. It's just good. I loved every second.

I mean... the game is a good joke. It was made for a specific purpose and it nailed it. You don't have to go far to see the fandom worshipping the characters and it being celebrated in various ways. So, the game itself? Surprisingly fun, with some really good puzzles, an interestingly engaging few fights, and some solid animation + art. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and it achieves exactly what it sets out to. It's good, it's fun, it's worth your time, an easy recommend.

It's a short, sweet, story with good gameplay and a great premise. The characters are cute and memorable, the game is fun, it's just... good. And at that price, how can you say no? I have so little to say, but I had a lot of fun playing this. It's well made, and as an aspiring game dev myself, I'd be extremely proud to have put out something with half this quality. Definitely give it a crack, the time investment is nice and small, and you won't regret a second of it.

I really, really don't know if I like this game. I wish there was a neutral review. I'll give you the pros and cons and you decide.
The good: The style is unparalleled. The animation, the music, the shot composition, the surreality, it's all so, so well done. You feel the richness of the stylistics, and it lends itself super well to the bizarre mix of
themes and concepts the game pulls off. It's just nice to be around. The gameplay is pretty cool, the puzzle solutions always being some situationally relevant reality manipulation stuff. The ending is also absolutely fantastic.
The bad: It's very, very boring at times and can be hard to get through. In such a variable game i really don't know if it's possible to make a streamlined gameplay system, but man the puzzles just were not difficult or really that engaging.
But altogether, it's a game that clearly feels like it was made with love and care, and it's very very impressive what the devs did. They told a story, and it's a really good story. I enjoyed it, and if you're into relatively short gameplay-light indie games, this one is a good choice.

This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ phenomenal.
At the constant sales and low prices, you feel like you're robbing the developers. Everything about the game is near perfect. The set design is always awe-inspiring and absolutely metal. The sound design is so satisfying, the animations so visceral, the cutscenes so characteristically perfect. It just screams "COOL". The story, as much as it is made fun of, is exactly the kind of world-shattering goofy melodramatic nightmare that makes the game so perfect. It's just so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good. The cherry on top is the three phenomenal scores from Mick Gordon (main game), Andrew Hulshult, and David Levy (DLC), who altogether never miss and bring the best of their experiences (although it should be noted Bethesda absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Mick over and he deserves recompense, many of the negative reviews address that).
But the gameplay. Oh my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god. As much as I adore the movement shooter genre, the combination of bonkers weapons, flawless movement, and endless potential for sequence attacks, the gunplay is perfect. You feel unstoppable, godly. The enemy variation is so good, every single one individually designed to make you have the most fun possible. I have a lot of gametime here, but on PS4 i have double that. The game is outstanding in every way, and it (and the DLC's) are well, well, worth your money. In a tired, bored, corrupt array of boring tactical shooters and uninspired multiplayer shooters, DOOM Eternal takes the FPS to it's purest, most awesome form.

But there are failures, and cons. There are five main ones. First, ♥♥♥♥ Bethesda. Horrible, horrible company that is continuously corrupt and shameless (although none of their F76 macrotransaction ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is here, thankfully) and they absolutely need to pay out and exonerate Mick Gordon, a blameless victim of their corporate evil. Second, the platforming is pretty mundane and not really an amazing addition to the game. They could have sped it up and added a bit more "cool" to it. Third, the second DLC, as incredible as the master levels are, is pretty easy, which goes way against the design philosophy of the main game. Fourth, the boss fights aren't amazing. They're good, but the gunplay lends itself far, far better to the rest of the game. Finally, the multiplayer isn't awesome. I played a lot, and I enjoyed it, and it's a very new model of gameplay, but it was absolutely a lost opportunity for the beauty of something like the original quake multiplayer.

But even still, amazing, near-perfect game. Absolutely recommend. Rip and tear!
