After seeing Slay the Princess on YT I was skeptical, since this was a different title and I was worried that they were moving away from a choice-based story and moving onto a more forward-facing mode of story telling. But I was pleasantly proven wrong! The characters are plenty interesting and most choices are made available, even senseless ones that left me wondering why anyone would ever choose them. RIP nurse mom But I'm glad I chose to pick this up, and reminds me of the fun I had going through the Pheonix Wright trilogy!

I'm feeling conflicted. I understand that the game devs wanted us to understand what it means to not want to disappoint people. There's a very deep uncertainty in remaking the same game to cater to the same audience almost a decade in advance. And I was really charmed by the little things they added in. All the uh... bucket content. And side areas that gave you a bit more time to connect with the narrator. Honestly, I'm not too sure I'm all done with the new content. I hope I'm not! It all went by so quick, and was just kinda a bummer. I'm familiar with CrowCrowsCrows using their games as a storytelling device rather than an engaging plaything, but I was hoping maybe it'd tickle my brain in ways the first time seeing it did. Of course, they understood this was going to be the case with some returning people. It's funny, I'm the exact person they envisioned. After all these years they spent on this new version, I thought maybe they were going to completely flip it. But things like this take time, all the environments and such. Especially since development started taking place during COVID season. However, even with how seemingly minor some things were, it was still a trip down memory lane. For having spent this much time, the amount this is priced at is reasonable.

I just... love the story. It reminds me of Steins;Gate, however the ending really leaves you so so empty. The positive choices you can make are really goofy, but it's only a side area of the real meat and bone of the story. It may take a while to progress through all sections, but I believe it was worth the effort. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA the feeels.

This is the best purchase I think I've made from the steam store, personally.

It's fun to play as Scavenger, but it can be so one sided as a killer. If your aim isn't good enough to play as the hunter, you might as well have just bought half a game for double the price. And it's so easy to find a game as a hunter, but takes about two minutes to find a game as a scavenger. Almost like there aren't many that enjoy playing as hunter. And there's just so much to take in as a hunter. You have to set traps that get deactivated maybe 15 seconds after being made, make sure you stay stocked up on resources so that you don't fall behind while chasing someone that's being healed by a different team mate and while chasing you have to make sure not to lose sight of one for even a second or you'll lose em'. You can also do a few nifty tricks that get overlooked because you'd be wasting precious time and resources while doing so. Just, work on killer. There isn't enough time to be in two places at once. I don't think I'll be playing for a while tbh.
