The fact that this game wasn't even nominated for indie of the year is criminal.

Shadow of the Erdtree is an extremely well made DLC however there a few gripes I have with it.
1. The DLC is way too hard to the point of being unfun at times. As someone who went through the entire original game without summons this DLC is brutal and will punish you fatally for even the slightest error on bosses with some of the most hp in the entire series.
2. The map feature is terrible. The map is impossible to read and find out where to go. The map is built in several layers but the in-game map only shows the top layer entirely in 2d so you cant tell where cliffs are really.
3. The new mechanic for scaling your character is scadutree fragments. These are just a raw % damage increase and resistance increase for collecting them. They dont feel good. They arent fun too collect and the DLC seems to be based around the player always having as many as possible.

Overall I still recommend this DLC and especially if it gets some much needed balance patches to lower some damage and health of bosses. The actually boss fights are some of my favorite in all of gaming if they were just slightly more balanced and the world is fun to explore. Shadow of the Erdtree is for the hardcore FromSoftware fan, but I feel it should be balanced for a slightly wider audience.

SO I am in my teen years and the newest game in this trilogy is 22 years old. These games are older than I am and thus unlike a good amount of these reviews I have ZERO nostalgia for these games and still these games are AMAZING. They have aged wonderfully. Based off of what I have read there have been some much needed quality of life changes. The most major is you can save anywhere in crash 1 and in order to get the gems you do not have to flawlessly complete a level but whatever.

These games are amazing
Crash 1 is easily a 9/10 not among the greatest I've played but easily top 10
Crash 2 is an 8/10 in my opinion because it innovates but not enough in my opinion. I felt as though it felt like it didn't know what it wanted to do with advanced movement with the addition of the slide. Also slide jump just replaced normal jump.
Crash 3 is an 8.5/10. This game has it's problems with the jank controls of the jetski and the motorcycle but I love the advanced movement in this game. There is more to it in this game and it doesn't overwhelm you. You slowly get more abilities as the game progresses and they all feel unique.

I am currently working on 100% the trilogy and have 74% of the achievements. That being said although I have a good amount of time on this game it is because of the extra time getting everything. I generally view games with a $1=1 hour of game play is worth it with exceptions of course because of replay ability. I cannot recommend this game enough but you are not going to get more than 15 hours out of it if you do not collect everything and it's most likely only going to end up being half of that. For that reason I would say get it on sale cuz it goes for 1/2 off. That's all hope this helps someone.

Look if you are looking at this review because you are thinking about buying this game as a joke for a friend cuz its on sale honestly, do it. I always thought sonic was stupid before but this game has honestly changed my opinion. I said I would 100% it as a joke but now I genuinely want to. This game is actually good. $20 good? maybe not but definately worth the 1 or 2 bucks it is on sale.

Edit: I 100%ed the game and will never get that time back. Do NOT go for 100% it was a mistake and I lost so much time to it. I may have only played the game 32 hours but it felt like SO much more. One final message: Damn you Espio.

All and all a great purchase. There is loads to do. Even if you just buy this for single player stuff it is still a good purchase. The games are fun and timeless classics. The multiplayer is fun and addicting and this game will easily soar to the top of my most played steam games.

This game is meh. I went in expecting greatness and instead was disappointed time and time again. First off I get that they wanted to reuse assets but the game just reuses rooms. In one mission, the level layout is room, room, bridge, room, hallway, room, bridge, room, hallway, room. Every single room has the same layout, so do the bridges, and the hallways. THEN, later in the game it makes you backtrack thru that same area. Like come on have to go thru the same room 12 times in total. Also you can jump over checkpoints I found out late into my run which is just kind of irritating. And there is almost no enemy variation. Once you play the first 2 missions you have seen almost every enemy. The vehicle controls feel sloppy. Anytime I could choose not to ride in a vehicle I didn't because the vehicle controls just don't feel good. I mean if you really do enjoy repetitive rooms and enemies this is your game. I will give this game two points for the guns and enemy intelligence. The guns don't feel that bad to shoot and the enemies are relatively smart. I would argue that the Halo enemies are smarter then most shooter enemies today. The multiplayer in this game is also alright but the guns feel too unbalanced in multiplayer. In singleplayer this isn't a problem but in multiplayer stuff like the flamethrower, shotgun, and rocket launcher just are busted leaving almost all other weapons other then the pistol in the dust. All and all the hype for this game is all nostalgia and there really isn't much material here.

Okay I want to get this out of the way. I LOVE THIS GAME! It is my new favorite game of all time. I have never experienced the Vita version of the game but this game is great. For 20 bucks it is an absolute steal. I would give it a 9/10 as a game and a 10/10 as a port.

Before I talk about my issues I would like to discuss the stuff I liked. THE MUSIC!!!!!!! The music is AWESOME I played this game for days all day everyday and the music never got boring. The characters almost felt real. The voice acting was stellar and really did bring the characters to life. The social links always were fun and interesting. The game overall was great. I also would like to bring up that you should play with more xp and money on because it just eliminates most of the grind and made it a more enjoyable experience, but you can play how you want. However, despite how much I love this game, I can recognize its shortcommings of this game.

My Problem with the game: I want to address the main problem I had with the game itself and that is the plot. As a very plot based game it needs to be good and for the most part it does that. However, some of the middle of the game is very, very repetitive. It makes sense in the context of the game but I do want to point that out.

As a port this game is amazing. Everything works great. The added difficulty settings are nice and it runs great.

I loved this game and think that almost everyone should play it. The beginning is very slow but once you're through that it is so much fun. This is a great way to play this game and I hope that ATLUS fixes the issues I had with the port. Also if you do play this game max Marie's social link for the true ending and once you get to near the end of the game look up the other things you need to do to get the true ending. It's worth it.
