There's nothing quite like Kenshi imo. It's atmosphere, it's brutality, and lack of forgiveness. You get shoved out in the wastes like a kid turning 18. Nothing to your name, just a goal and a life that you can choose.
The game has great sandbox capability, you could be a legendary blacksmith, or even a master brewer.. or maybe you could have an army of renown warriors - the choice is yours.

The only thing that limits this game's potential for me is it's lack of optimization.
Loading times can hinder your enjoyment as it happens quite often. FPS drops are pretty common, usually when you've been playing for a long period of time, which is very easy to do in Kenshi (:
Pathfinding is buggy, there's plenty of times you'll find yourself micromanaging characters across the map because they got stuck on an obstacle or the path is incomplete.
Nonetheless, it's a great game, and I think that will offset any issues you experience.
Hopefully you enjoy Kenshi as I did.

Loved it when it came out for Xbox 360, and still love it today.

Oh, and the price is great too.
