Honestly even more disappointing than expected.
The snow areas in the base game are empty or repetive, so of course that's what they do for the DLC. The world and all the new weapons/items are very cool but to get them you have to waste so much time in this boring world. Really very typical AAA game behaviour, all style with no substance behind it. The blessing system is a good idea, but poorly implemented since getting all those blessings gets boring extremely fast, and the bosses are way too much without them. Enemy variety is poor and all the new enemies are used so much they get old very fast.
Dungeons and ESPECIALLY legacy dungeons are atrocious. With confusing layouts, with barely any interesting enemies they just feel like a chore to get to the good parts, hell the entire world of the Shadow of the Erdtree feels like that in the later parts.
Bosses and mini-bosses. Oh boy 70% of mini-bosses are either atrocious and/or boring. So many reskins from the base game(yes I want to fight tree spirits for the 10th milion time game) and let's not forget about the worst mini-boss ever made: Furnace Golems. And the actual bosses, yeah typical Elden Ring ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ taken to the extreme in most second fases. Full of delayed attacks, lunge attacks that travel at the speed of light, input reading, and the bosses just never stop swinging. Honestly, From has become a parody of themself trying to make bosses so hard because "OH DANK SOULS sUcH hArD bIG BOY gAmEs FOR TRUE GAMERS". No I don't want a press dodge button simulator and never attcak cause either you ran out of stamina or the boss just went into another ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ combo.
