I guess this game is Kojima's way of dealing with fatherhood?
So uh... if your family is getting over a stillbirth or premature birth, this game might trigger you in a bad way.

As usual in a Kojima game, the core gameplay loop is well-executed fun, but the plot and characters make you go "what the ♥♥♥♥ just happened?".

What sold me on this game was this comic[www.awkwardzombie.com]: "you rebuild the highways and the game suddenly becomes Truck Simulator".
Several times you get game-changing gear upgrades, so you don't have to spend the whole game struggling to hump some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥'s beer keg across the country without falling over.

There is some combat, but it's telegraphed well in advance, usually avoidable, easy (on Normal difficulty), and not the core gameplay. The core gameplay is some townie says "I have 500kg of soiled panties I need to get to the Otaku Prepper's base" and you say "well it's your lucky day, because one of my robot slaves has worn a goat path straight to his door with the constant tramping back-and-forth".

The online integration is like Generation Zero in that other players have the power helpful, but not grief or troll you. It was pleasant enough that I didn't turn it off straight away, like I usually do.

PS: everyone in the game thinks America = the world. They don't seem to even give a ♥♥♥♥ about Novo-Archangelsk[en.wikipedia.org] or the Kingdom of Hawai'i or Puerto Rico. This is normal for Hollywood, but pretty weird for a Japanese game.

PS: does Kojima really think you can walk the breadth of CONUS in about 20 hours?
That's about 200km... so about half the distance from Manhattan to Washington DC[www.openstreetmap.org].

PS: how the ♥♥♥♥ is she running in five-inch stilettos in wet sand?!
