I cannot sing the praises of Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3) enough - it is easily the best game I've ever played. This game is absolutely fantastic, and is everything I could ever imagine in a tactical, turn-based rpg.

I love how much effort has been put in to making so many interactions feel worth while, and rewarding the player for fully exploring all the options available to them. The game's ability to give you freedom to design your character, choose your solution to various problems, and make important decisions that affect the world and characters in it makes this game an absolute joy to play through. The story is monumental in the way it details the potential end for Faerun and the climax is so beautifully wrapped up - there are very few games that complete a story in such a satisfying way. The design of each area has been incredibly detailed and the themes and sounds that accompany each area or fight is just epic in every way.

The biggest strength to this game is easily the characters in the world - both the playable companions and the enemies that you face. Each enemy feels more challenging than the last, and the more you uncover about your companions, the more interesting the story gets (and it is very easy to get invested in their respective arcs). I find myself struggling to pick a team of 4 since I would love to have all of the companions in my party, and with the ability to change the classes of your companions to fit your party needs, you are never short on options with which to handle events and quests.

The only negatives I can give at the moment would be two glitches in Act 2. One of the glitches relates to the Lady Shar's temple transporter, and the other relates to a rescue at Moonrise Towers. Otherwise, the game was solid all-round.

Overall, this game is just fantastic. You can easily sink hundreds of hours into this trying different strategies, characters and difficulties because the world of Baldur's Gate 3 feels incredibly well developed. It's worth noting that Divinity Original Sin 2 (DOS2) (same game developed by Larian Studios) is similar in it's turn-based elements, but is slightly different in terms of combat and ability check interactions (DOS2 is still definitely worth checking out if you loved BG3). Baldur's Gate 3 is easily one of my favourite games that I have played, and even though I've sunk over 100 hours into one playthrough so far, I could easily see myself trying new classes and choosing different story paths because the game is just that good. Absolutely recommend.
