Creepy. A dark and short visual novel. I love the character design and the look of the world.

I love the retro feel of Monolith! It takes me right back to old-school Nintendo games. It is quite bullet hell, so be prepared for that. The levels can be somewhat repetitive, but the different weapons and upgrade combos shake things up. Also this game is super cheap so any fans of retro roguelikes should give this a shot!

This game has a great aesthetic if you like dark anthropomorphic worlds. The combat is souls-like, so some of the bosses provide neat little timing puzzles to solve. The game staggers new attack types and enemy patterns to keep things fresh. There is a lot of walking, but it is always clear where the next objective is.

If the graphics look good to you and you want a souls-like challenge, check out Tails of Iron!

Early Access Review
Although sad, the visuals and game play for 'Seen' are very satisfying. Maybe because you mostly collect little blue balls of light called 'hope' and the sound design rewards you with the perfect 'ching'. The lighting creates a very enjoyable melancholy (I know that doesn't make any sense, but that's how I feel when I'm playing). The story is sad, but the texture is cute and abstract so it creates a weird dissonance to the sadness.

I would compare this to other platformers that feel like art, something like 'Gris'. But where 'Gris' is more puzzle platform, 'Seen' mixes exploration, puzzles and run levels.

Also this game is great for people who love to see achievements pop up every ten seconds!

Not only is this an amazing card game that scratches deck-building itches and crazy exploding combo itches, it is also a WTF moment generator. The story is weird and crazy and the game play is so well done it keeps me coming back.

Any fans of Slay the Spire, Monster Train or any card game, get this. If you like strange, atmospheric video games, get this. If you have dreams about being trapped in a cabin with a wild photographer man forcing you to play twisted card games, well if you get this game you will be living the dream.

And we all want to be living the dream. Is 'Inscryption' the card game of your dreams? Yes. And nightmares? Probably. Should you have bought it when it was on sale? Yep. Can you wait for the next sale. Nope. Buy it now. Play it now. I am using this review to inception your mind right now. You are going to dream about your long lost uncle who died in that plane crash and he is going to tell you how he always wanted you to live out his legacy by playing "Inscryption", see so it's not even my idea, listen to your uncles frozen skeleton on that flaming mountaintop. He is whispering... "Inscryption... Inscryption..."

This is a great minimalist roguelike. Game play itself is quite simplistic, you simply dodge enemies and gather pick-ups. But the combinations of builds feel quite different and there is an engaging puzzle in how to best spend money between rounds.

Recommended for fans of arcade style roguelikes!
