Disappointing.

This game is being praised a LOT and I wanted to like it too, but I can't. The more I played the less enjoyable the experience was becoming to the point that Im not even interested in continuing at all.
Without going too much in depth the game just feels like wasted potential. Character are shallow, every plot point you can see coming from a mile away, mc while voiced this time is so bland he might as well be a robot controleld by gallica.
There's so much copied and pasted from persona, battle system (about 90%) deadline/days system, confidants/social links etc. this could have been title ''Persona: The isekai edition''.
There's so much more I could talk about but I will just talk about one more thing and cut my rumbling here. There is this 1 event in the second chapter of the story I believe? that really made me go wtf. Atlus forgot this ain't persona 5.
One of the villains has a 'monster baby', she kidnaps children from the town to feed them to it, before the fight with our team shes like ''you dont understand, DIE'' then you defeat her and she IMMEDIATELY does a complete 180 starts weeping and says she understand what she did was wrong. And what do the party members do? All sympathise with her 'oh poor soul she is a victiom too' Yeah someome who murdered couintless children and was about to murder us too 5mins ago... genuinely retarded. It like phantom theives stole her heart in the meantime but atlus forgot that its a different game. And to top it off she says she will confess everything to their worlds pope and the team just takes her word for it... I thought for a second that she might play them at the last second(she was straight up lying to our faces and to other people EASILY and even tried to frame an innocent person for the disappearing children before she got exposed after all), that would totally screw our team and make for an intersting conflict in the story but no. She just confesses everything and dies. Curtain falls.


Pros:
-I like the initial premise and setting
-music score(there's been only 2 or 3 memorable ost's and the rest is decent)
-archetype system(I think overall its a +, but the execution could have been way better)
-plays a lot like persona

Cons:
-plays like persona (yes, it is both a + and - because while I like the persona ip from a new ip I expected much more new mechanics and changes and what metaphor is is basically a persona reskin with 90% of the mechanics being copied from it)
-weak writing (both character and story)
-the battle system got old, its the same old 'you have to reload the game coz you didnt know what the enemy does and the punishment for having wrong affinity skills is just stupid high'(more punishing than persona coz not only you wont do any dmg to enemy but you also lose multiple turns)
-low enemy variety for normal mobs, its the same 10 enemeis the whole game
-UI... while stylish its very poorly designed, like for gods sake show me that the amulet I want to put on character B is already in use by character C without me having to actually click on it to put it on, navigating menus is tedious af(and you will be doing it a lot)

+more Elden Ring
+beautiful new areas
+music
+some new bosses

-new areas are empty(some of them have litereally nothing to find)
-a lot of reused assets(a bit too much imo)
-last boss 2nd phase is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥(insanely punishing) if you're not using a certain build, BUT if you are then it becomes a joke
-identity of the last boss

-Great characters, especially the main cast that is sure to grow on you as you learn about them
-Intriguing and engaging story that will make you want to find out more
-Delivers a wide range of emotions, can be funny af, full of tension or even a tearjerker at times
-The humour and swag is just on another level
-my only gripe is that I experienced crashes when playing, it didn't ruin the experience or make me waste much time(autosaves are very frequent, I'd only lose like 1 or 2mins when a crash occured), but still felt that I should mention it

Overall the game was a quite unique experience that made me hungry for more after finishing, highly recommended. Looking forward to checking out the 2 installment of this series any possibly other games from this studio.

I really enjoyed the first 3 hours. I haven't had so much fun playing a game in a while, however the amount of costume dlc ads is unaccaptable. They even put them in the camping menu... Really takes away from the experience and immersion.
Also apparently some skills are locked behind dlcs... so you pay 50 pounds or 60 dollars and you still don't get to have all the playable game features... ♥♥♥♥ this. The game plays good but Namco needs to see that shoving ads down our throats and cutting out pieces of the game to put them behind additional payments is a bad idea.

Don't buy at full price. Buy only at a substantial discount.
You'll be fighting pretty much the same enemies throughout the entire game(most of them are literally the same enemies you fought in the first game), only a couple new enemeis here and there which makes the combat boring pretty quickly.
Apart from enemies there is so much more stuff copied and pasted from the previous game like guardian spirits/character enemies etc.
it doesn't feel like a whole new game more like Nioh 1.5.
Dissapointing

Great characters, story and world building. It's an entry point to one of the best jrpg franchises. Highly recommended

Great level design, atmosphere, music the famed boss battles, pretty much every aspect of the game contributes to a great gaming experience that is the Dark Souls 3 :)

Definately stands out among other titles due its battle mechanics and water colour like graphics. The battle system is very unique, might be a little hard at the beginning, but once you learn how to use your units efficently it becomes very satisfying. Story is very simple yet pleasurable to follow. Recommended
