Hunt Showdown 1896 is a abysmally frustrating - from a loyal fan of 6 years.
How does a team with 8 years of experience on this game screw it up this badly?
The UI, bullet drop, bugs are absolutely unacceptable. The art and level design team is absolutely carrying the team at Crytek. The art direction and execution is phenomenal, the level design is next level and the aesthetics and map design are phenomental....

At the point of this review, Crytek has told us they will address the issues with the UI, but I am still worried.
Im worried because they clearly cannot differentiate a UI that is functional/feels good to navigate vs a UI that is convoluted, confusing, that fights against the user, and at times is even ugly. YES it is even ugly. The weapon skin page is absolutely horrible. How can you still not have a filter for OWNED / UNOWNED skins after 6 years?

My biggest issue aside from the UI is the bullet drop. NO ONE asked for this, Crytek themselves still had a post on their website as to how they would never add bullet drop to the game because the game was not designed like that. I think it's unpleasant, its anti-fun and frustrating, regardless the streamers make it look easy. The streamers play 8 hours a day, thats not fair to the rest of the community. People have lives and each gun has muzzle velocity AND bullet drop, and the same gun can have different muzzle velocities and bullet drops based off of the ammo. It's so maddening, I wish that people were more vocal about it but i guess the UI is such a massive problem, as well as all of the bugs that the bullet drop looks acceptable. Additionally there are places where i drop up to 80 fps. EIGHTY! And i run it on 90 fps. That's ridiculous. I have a screenshot where I am on 8 FPS with an NVidia RTX3070 and an i7 with the new drivers.

Please Crytek, fix the UI, remove bullet drop, fix the massive volume of bugs and just focus on what the playerbase wants. NO ONE ASKED FOR BULLET DROP and NO ONE ASKED FOR COD UI.

A worthy successor to the first game and wonderfully constructs on the existing story.

Absolutely phenomenal game. So much replayability and quite interesting and distinct playstyles. It's not a hardcore competitive game but that's exactly why it shines. You can chill out and winning or losing is nota stressful experience. The music and visuals make Northgard so relaxing and fun.

A very well crafted game. The art and atmosphere are very unsettling and the story progression is very unexpected. As a fan of the Cthulhu book, this game brings its own spin on things and works well if you love horror games but aren't too much into jump scares.

This is one of the most phenomenal games I've had the privilege of experiencing.
Gorgeous, mesmerising, heartfelt, beautiful and tragic all at the same time. From the perfectly executed story, to the amazing graphics and music. I would recommend that everyone gets a chance to experience it.
I cannot remember the last time I ended a game and immediately started it again.
It perfectly portrays the horrors of the black plague and my own regret is not having been one of the amazing team that worked on it.

This game is the best game ever created, bar none!
