I'm not gonna lie to you, I love JUMP FORCE, even though I know it's a bad game. I have bought it on my Xbox, PC and Switch. I don't know why I love this game this much but I just do I guess.

Now lets talk about deep stuff real quick.
JUMP FORCE is only a mediocre game, it is not the embodiment of my literal s##t in the ground. People who are ranting about JUMP FORCE being bad and/or worst game in existence(horrific exaggeration, mind you) need to sit down and stop. I'll admit, being an avid JUMP FORCE lover I can admit that the game is flawed, I'll even write a list:
1. There is no story here. It's just your oc dying, getting revived, saving other members of the Jump Worlds from mind control from the bad guy who is getting manipulated by a bigger bad guy(also Kane is awesome, I swear if they fleshed him out people would love him too, but then again that can be said for the other characters as well) who you end up defeating through a series of fights that basically go random NPC, then major villain, more NPC, so on so forth. It's just dull and that's understandable, but when people keep bringing that up as a major point for why the game is bad like it's a revelation, it gets annoying pretty quickly. Some people even go as far as to say that you NEED to play it like its a requirement. News Flash: It's not required, all that is required is 3 tutorial missions and there, you can play the game OUTSIDE of the story. There is another problem with the story though, which I will bring up in...
2. Characters don't get enough screen time or get fleshed out enough. A common example of this is how DIO in the story is given LITERALLY 2 LINES OF DIALOGUE and dips from the rest of the game. It's just unfortunate that we can't see our favourites interact alot more than they did, it's usually just
(Insert Character): Oh, you remind me of something that happened to me unspecified time ago, LET'S FIGHT. Rinse and repeat for basically half the roster and that's the equivalent of their fleshing out, basically nothing.
3. CHARACTER UNBALANCE OMG.
This is a horrid truth I swallowed back when the game stopped getting pacthes when SEASON 1 FINISHED. So basically, the game has a sense of horrific unbalance because they stopped patching characters and moves after the first season of DLC. Ichigo still is the best character in the game because he never got struck with a character patch that made him worse(these did not make him better either). Also lots of moves are so easily spammable(if you played online, you probably played against the torture that was pre-patched Lightning Palm) and some characters are just so much better/worst because they never got buffed or nerfed. Lots of characters just have 1-3 move/s that makes them super good, but the character themself is just horrid as their normals suck or their moves are inconsistent. TL:DR, too many are OP or horrible and the OP ones are easily spammable and not countered easily.
And finally.
4. The universal defensive mechanics suck. Playing a game where half the actions you do are dictated by a bar that runs out instantly if you want to escape a combo or get shield broken sucks, especially when there are set-ups for UNBLOCKABLE SHIELD BREAKS. When you run out, it takes like a literal decade to recharge and when you're in that state you can get zoned out so hard. Either by assists and EVERY RANGED ATTACK IN THE GAME, ESPECIALLY WHEN 90% OF THE CAST HAS AT LEAST ONE. It's a cruel world.

That's all the major problems the game has now. I'll list the others below that are minor or they need their own space.

1. Horrible loading times: If you're still complaining about this, it got patched so literally shut up
2. Horrible/No Facial animations: If you're complaining about this, that's fine. They aren't the best in the story or in battle but they aren't THE WORST, so chill.
3. Game looks ugly/character models look ugly: Cry about it, go home. The only major issue is the facial animation, play on an actually decent computer and the models and stages look beautiful. It doesn't fix the faces but I don't see why you should care if you're fighting in a match.
4. Horrible netcode: It's not the best but it can run if people have GOOD WIFI. It's not the game, it's either you or your opponent. Just deal with it or don't play online, it's that easy.
5."My wanted character didn't get into the game": This isn't common actually, but the few instances where I have seen people complain about not getting their character is just pathetic. Like Smash Bros, you don't get what YOU want, it's what the creators want. I'm not happy that JJBA or Yu-Gi-Oh! got shafted from DLC, but I'm happy that I have Kaiba and Giorno and I'm fine with everyone else, because I have fun playing them all. They did the DLC the way they did because of appeal to certain regions would net them more money(probably). If you hate any of the characters in both passes, suck it up and deal with it or uninstall that character if you bought them, easy sauce. BUT, they did shaft Light Yagami from the roster because he is too 'op', as a massive fan of Death Note this peeved me. I don't really care though, I'm contempt with the characters I have.
6. Custom characters shouldn't be in ranked: This I agree with, it's just annoying to be beaten by something you can't effectively counter because you don't know their moves or what type they use until they start attacking. It's not uncommon either, about 3/5 people will just use their CaCs because it's better to be braindead with their disgusting OCs that have every move in the game that causes pain rates to increase.
7. It's not competitive: This is an argument, but only if you care about the competitive scene, which there is none because the game's mechanics stop it from being competitive. This doesn't make it a bad game, but some people seem to think it so. But a competitive scene doesn't dictate a game's quality, especially when this game, I believe, is more suited for a casual audience.

Okay, I believe all the negatives are done. Now I'm going to talk about why this game is only mediocre, maybe good(if you like it) or love it like me.

Playing this game with friends is such a fun experience in person. I played this game with friends at my house on a couch and we all had a blast. It's just fun seeing anime characters beat eachother up and screaming lines like a protagonist. It's a very fun casual experience to share with friends. The mods make it especially hilarious, seeing Master Chief beat up Fortnite Thanos on the field of Wii Baseball kills me everytime. The joy that can be gotten from this game can only be seen if you wanna enjoy a fun casual experience with friends, alone it's just mediocre but still can be fun if you like smacking CPUs. The particle effects in this game look amazing btw. Also it gives characters who wouldn't normally fight like this a chance to shine in an okay game. You'll never see Yugi, Kaiba fight with their monsters again like this, it's so surreal. Also it's the only chance where Jotaro, DIO and Giorno will fight in a decent arena fighter(Eyes of Heaven is just fanservice, the actual fighting is kinda on the stand-by. Also I mean arena fighter, not 2D fighter, Heritage of the Future is too good).

TL:DR: This game is flawed like no tomorrow but it's a fun casual experience with friends and I feel if they make a sequel and fix all the major problems the game had, it will be talked about for years to come. But that won't happen. I'm still contempt with what I have here though. This jumbled mess of a game, is fun. I know I didn't really give reason why it's good(I basically just identified the flaws it has/had) but I just like playing this dumb game. It's NOT bad, just mediocre. If you wanna play an anime arena fighter that's just so much worse than this, go play One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows.
