This mod had so much of what I wanted more of from Portal 2 when playing through the original; more exploring the rundown nature-filled parts of Aperture, more fun writing, more unique cores that join you as companions, new puzzle mechanics, re-utilizing old mechanics in new ways. Revolution has the challenge and charm that Portal is founded on, and at times was a real brain teaser that made you feel smart without risking your momentum of game play. My only critique; is the ending [[SOME SPOILERS]], it's not a bad ending, it just felt abrupt. I was pumped during the final sequence because of the use of varying mechanics and momentum elements from throughout the mod, I thought we were going to get everything in one final dash for the exit or something. There's even a tube of dash gel in the final room I thought would explode and allow for the player to run and have one final victory gauntlet to freedom. Though, to my surprise, the game just kinda ends with the spire exploding after you stop Stirling, followed immediately by credits, and then a bittersweet post credit scene. The moment's weight was lost on me because I thought "well, surely that's not it" and then it ended. But that moment didn't ruin the game for me, it still felt like a well rounded, self-contained story that could've been canon to the series. Revolution is the answer for a bit more of Portal 2 I was hoping for and I'm glad I finally played it and recommend any fan to pick it up.
