I won't go in to how bad the game is, read all of the other reviews. I just find it interesting that after releasing a horrible experience of a game, the devs expect you to buy their $112 worth of garbage DLC that should have been regular content updates. I hope a DEV reads this, I want you to know that I hope your team is struggling and you're all broke. I hope you have a bad life.

game is bad

It took 3 years to develop half of the quality of the first game. If you want half of the mutants, content, atmosphere, with the same story (enter cave, get thing), and the same pisswater visual quality as the first game, Sons of the Forest is for you. Was fun for a few hours with friends but becomes tedious hunting down each cave just to reach the same mutants over and over again. Each cave is pre-marked on your map, so there really is no surprise in this game. No bosses, nothing interesting between here and there.

Where to begin…

Late 2017, I had just begun my Rust adventure solo. There weren’t very many monuments, but there were plenty of people in-game and a lot to do for an ignorant naked. Like anyone, I spent my first few wipes struggling and overwhelmed with PVP. The skill ceiling was tall and I was naked. Not so long after finishing school, I had a friend join me and we were now a duo.

Together we put in less than a hundred hours of learning the game and being grubs. 10/10. Of course, as is natural, we HAD to get raided. Halfway through our 3rd (monthly) wipe, we returned to base in the process of being raided. Some kid with a hispanic accent and his friends were taking what we worked so hard for in our 2X1 roleplayer base.

In an attempt to exact revenge, we joined their team. As we bided our time, minutes turned into hours, turned into days, turned into weeks… years… We never insided this group. Instead, we spent 2000+ hours together. We watched horses arrive, boats come to shore, mini helicopters come to sky. We spent hundreds of wipes together, on official US West OG servers, modded 2X servers, and every other 100x PvP server we could. When we got tired of Rust, we played a myriad of other games, hell most of the time we were just enjoying eachothers company in Discord.

No matter what happened, who moved where, who left for college, who got a new job schedule, we always came back to play together for another wipe. As time goes on, we all get busy, life gets busy. Our original group of 6 was strong and close, some of us were friends in real life, but our friends online were just as real. One by one, we lose a member to the business of life. I write this review as the last two of us have just finished our final wipe…
Through all of its toxicity, Rust managed to bring together a group of kids across countries and gave us a lifetime of friendship.

1/10 game, 11/10 experience. Would not do again
