Tried to play this a few times. The game is quite slow or possibly lagging. In this bundle there are three games and I will refer to them as 1, 2 and 3 as I cannot remember the titles. The first game will not let me proceed for more than a few screens to the right. I fight a couple stronger opponents and an orb appears and the scenery on the right pulls out to reveal a ledge of sorts. I can not grab the floating orb or special move icon and I can not pass the wall above the ledge on the right, even after the smaller ledge revealed itself. I assume the orb is a Double Jump or Higher Jump move. When you force restart the level it starts you with what ever HP you had last time, so if half, you have half starting. And this time the screen will not scroll at all. Your character can go off the screen, but that is it. That and the character can get stuck in mid swing and only turn left and right. You can no longer move.

The second game is much the same way. A screen or two over and there is a ledge too high to jump. However there is no orb that appears at all. I did not bother to restart it.

The third game I got a few screens further, but it still lagged and I just thought it best to refund the game while I still had time. I asked the forum for help, but am not going to wait, so there you have it. I cannot recommend the game even on a decent sale. To me it was simply unplayable. A shame because it looked quite nice and I am a Castlevania fan. Hopefully you have a better time with it than I did, if you try it.

This is one of those games that I wish there was a "Maybe" recommendation. This game is certainly not for everyone. It is a rouge-like, meaning it randomly generates each time you play. That may sound great, but unfortunately it also means that there is a lot of copy and pasting by the computer, with everything looking the same. The configuration changes, but it's still just the same map, with the wall over here, rather than over there. This time it may be a long stretch of a hallway and next a 90 degree turn and the same for enemies and furniture.

It is also built around giving the player as much grief as possible. It is not about being good, it is about dying, repeatedly and getting just enough tech to afford to buy another upgrade to get just a little bit further and keep you interested on what can be found next. It's simply the nature of the beast. I was ready to come on here and give it a thumbs down, but at the end saw some new tech I could purchase and was like "Hmm... how far can I get this time..." And that's the thing. It will infuriate you to no end, but keep sprinkling crack on the ground for you to keep coming back for more.

So it is both a blessing and a curse. What you should be able to do from the onset, like simply heal at the bunker on your own, at least between rounds, you can not really do until you get the upgrade. You can pay to be healed, but the prices are purposely set so you are paying more than you should for less. Also switching out weapons, you can not do until you get the upgrade.

Silly. I've run out of ammo simply because I was carrying several weapons, but my character could not access the back pack and I did not upgrade my bunker to allow to do a quick switch of "one" extra weapon, because the bunkers start with two and you have to upgrade to more through tech or play throughs.

Then you have to buy the upgrades with money on each new play through from scratch. But there could be several upgrades for each type of bunker like Medical or Shooting Range, but only one or two useful upgrades in each. So I go without the Shooting Range which would allow for the quick switch, because getting a Medical bunker is more important to heal out in the field, as well as getting a Gym to be able to carry more weapons and equipment back to the bunker to sell for a profit because the game... Arrggghhhh!!!!!

It's enemies are also annoying. From time to time they will sneak in from another location. Or the rooms are copy and pasted and constructed in such a way that no matter how you turn, you are going to be shot from either side or both at once. It seems like you should have the advantage and they wont be alerted to your presence until seen, but many a time I have rounded a corner and was instantly blasted with no warning of an enemy being there and two were waiting in ambush. You do not start or gain the ability as far as I am aware of to tank hits like that. I have better pistol upgrades and even other weapons in general, but they keep spamming me with the most weakest ones. And the katana is trash, regardless how powerful it is. The game treats it like a knife in distance range and if you are not pinpoint accurate in aiming, you are not hitting anything. Even when you are, you are bound to miss sometimes.

And where are the medkits when I need them? Even after upgrades of better kits that heal more, I am still getting the lowest healing, if any kits showing up at all. Also the exploding enemies seem to spam out of no where. I seemingly cleared a room and BAM surprise attack and lose so much precious health. And you will not gain any items from an enemy that kamikazed you. You could be making a great run and then come upon an ambush and you might as well restart the game to see what new tech you can afford. If an enemy dies and bounces on top of a wall and drops a much needed item, tech or credits, they are out of reach. The music is so distracting as it tries to sound new age or techish, but sounds like the enemies, so you need to turn it off to hear what is actually around you. Music should not do that to the player.

I hope you see the dilemma. At it's heart it is a good game, it just purposely punishes the player. Which some may like, others not so much. So I will put No for now, but may later simply change it to Yes... and then come back and not recommend it again...

A decent free survival game. Adventure across the land- exploring towns, forests, wastelands, tunnels and ruins. Collecting and plundering resources as you go, to craft basic to advanced items to aid in your survival. From simple stone tools you can create on your own, to needing to upgrade to kilns, furnaces, work benches and the like to be able to craft finer weapons and equipment.

Time of day goes by, different enemies roam different parts of the land and stalk at different times of day. What you wear, what time of day, what you are using and where you are, factor in your over all wellness. The temperature drops if at night, so not having enough clothing on or out in the open will drop your core temperature. A camp fire or a torch in doors, can warm you or help you see out in the darkness. Eating and drinking is a must, but most foods need to be crafted and the most basic at least cooked. You can even plant and harvest crops and build your own homes and fortresses.

The free game only has one world, but it is big. The paid version has what amounts to an endless amount of worlds with rules or factors that differ from world to world. I am only playing the free version, so I can only speak for that currently. But the dev is very patient and open minded. They listen to suggestions and tweaks upon request. While saving some of the more robust ideas for future games. The free version is obviously free, so why not check it out? And if you fall in love with it, you can purchase the full version with practically infinite worlds to explore!

A pretty good "action" mod/game that has unfortunately been forgotten. There were a few games on HL1 like Action Half Life, The Opera and The Specialists. A lot of gun battles, stunts and John Wooing. Not all made it over for their second iteration, but Action Half Life was one of them. Although there are no Matrix style slow downs, there are a lot of stunts, kung fu and dual wielding. Several maps like the subway, airport, mansion, even an island, all gorgeous to look at. Lots of guns and equipment to play around with.

It's biggest flaw is it's lack of players. There is virtually none. You might get lucky and find one here and there, but it is rare sadly. But if you create your own server you can play against bots and if you know how to make a server you can have others join as well. Or play on the one servers available. Maybe if enough people found this gem, public perception and awareness could get better and it could have a second life. Anyone want a match?

I highly recommend these games, preferably the whole bundle at normal price, especially when it goes on sale and is only $8! Over 50 games endorsed by Sega and then basically an infinite amount of workshop items, adding unlimited amount of replay ability to these games, plus other games added. When it is all said and done the possibilities are limitless. You also get to save the games, official ones anyway and also fast forward and rewind through them and play online.

The only gripes I have is that the intro runs way too slowly, but I just skip through it all. Also I seem to have trouble trying to get the buttons just right on a game pad. And that you can not send the whole bundle at once as a gift.

Still though, those minor gripes aside, the SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics are outstanding! I just wish Sega would add Saturn and more Dreamcast games on Steam. Definitely would purchase those as well!

I can not do anything with this. I start the game and the slightest touch of the mouse has it spinning in odd ways. And you have to use the mouse button to fire, you can not simply muck through using the keyboard like the old days. Also and I may be getting this confused on the other games from this dev, but when you fire your weapon you turn a little for some odd reason. It is just the starter weapon, not like you picked up a powerful weapon with push back. I do not recommend any of them, because they all have the same problem and no way to fix the mouse in the options menu. Even for 50 cents it is not worth it I am sorry to say. Avoid these games.

I was going to try this, as there was no mention of a Terms of Service or EULA on their store page any where, as other games will do before installing. But once downloaded and before you can play, they force you to agree to it. In fact you can not even exit their game without agreeing, unless you circumnavigate and force close the whole thing. Free or not, I uninstalled. Not worth the headache.

Euro Truck Simulator is great for any road simmers out there. The amount of real life gadgets and thingamabobs to mess with is many and varied. Day and night cycles. Different loads with different payouts. Different trucks with different stats and unique cab interiors. You wont find any thing copyrighted or trademarked in the base game that I am aware of, but they all resemble their counter parts very closely.

Euro Truck Simulator is obviously about having a trucking career in the EU- Spain, France, Italy, etc. So that means the sights and atmosphere will be different, than say America. Road signs, traffic lights and laws are unique to the country you are in. UK for instance, will have you drive on the left side of the road, a wide departure from most of the rest of the world. And land marks of a particular country can be viewed as well while driving by.

There is unfortunately no workshop, but there are plenty of mods to be had for free that add a great many new things to the game. It also works decently, at least with low settings for less powerful systems, while still looking quite nice. Although you can not visually damage other cars or your truck, you can in fact cause crashes and you are fined for that, as well as driving on the wrong side of the road and speeding.

You do have to refuel or you can run out of gas. It is also in your best interest to know where the cheapest fuel can be had, to save even more money so you can buy a bigger rig or other expenditures, so planning your trip is important. Empty your tank or take too much damage and you will have to call in a tow truck. Damaging what you are trying to deliver or not obeying the law will also deduct money from your pay check, so you have to be sure to keep your eyes on the road and use your turn signals, obey signs, etc. And they have a fatigue meter, where if you drive for too long with out taking in game breaks, your driving performance can be effected. But resting at gas stations and trucking job sites, alleviates that dilemma.

I will say however, that the keyboard and mouse is not the best set up for the game. It is doable, but a steering wheel, especially a force feedback one is recommended. I'd also suggest using the mouse for steering only until you can procure a wheel.

You can find the original Euro Truck Simulator for generally a $1 on sale and that price is quite frequent. However even at the full $5 price, the game is worth it, especially when you factor in the amount of mods and what it adds to the base game. Any trucker or road sim enthusiast has no reason not to have this game, unless they already have it's sequel. Everyone else, especially with only a dollar and a few cents (sales tax), I think will find a new niche to love. And if you really want the better experience, go for the second game in the Euro series. Graphics are much improved among other things.

I was late to the Postal party, picking up Postal 2 almost two decades after it's initial release, although I believe I had played the demo when it first came out from PC Magazine and my computer could hardly run it back then. Heard some good things. Knew it was controversial, but also tongue in cheek satire, never taking itself too seriously. I am not sure if I received this for free now, because I already had purchased other games in the bundle and this was sort of like a gift. Or the game is free to all, as I see it is freeware now.

The first game is not as cordial as later releases. Much more dark and lacking any kind of laughs. I mean if you can find humor in murdering a marching band with Molotov cocktails, as they and others run around in panic and on fire, then maybe a few snickers can still be produced. Regardless you take the role of the Postal dude who swears he is the only sane one left in town and goes around different locations as a top down view slaughtering the authorities and even innocents if you so choose. It is a twin stick shooter, meaning you have to control his movement with one set of keys/joystick and the area he is facing thus shooting with the others/mouse, very Robotron 2084, Smash TV and Geometry Wars -esque.

Even though the people on the screen are a little blocky, the scenery of the of maps- the towns, train yards, trailer parks, cities, etc. are all very wonderfully water colored in nature. It is a beauty even to this day to behold, which I am sure was part of the reason they added it, beauty areas with chaos ensuing. Game play is pretty redundant however. Kill a certain percentage of hostiles, all those with guns and be allowed to leave to the next map, by pressing F1. Don't forget to save though, because the game wont do it itself. I do it at the beginning of the next map. Along the way you will find other weapons that need ammo, to compliment your automatic rifle. They claim it is the weakest, but I find it the most useful. You can shoot all the way across the screen with it and never needs ammo. There is a bit of a spread, but really that is all I use, unless I need explosives.

You can shoot the innocents in the levels as well if you so choose and even perform executions on those who have fallen to the gun, but have not actually died yet, by pressing the X button. But you do not gain anything from the executions from the base game that I am aware of and you can in fact be shot from those still standing while you are performing it, so I tend to ignore that feature. They will die eventually anyway on their own at this point. They can not fake death or sneak attack you as their last action. Also most buttons can be remapped and they feel a little awkward by default from a modern stand point.

All in all the game is not bad. I think by now we are used to bloody games, so this should not even raise any eyebrows these days, although again... If you are expecting some comedy mixed with the blood, this isn't it. Also the Steam version at least (again it says it was released as freeware per the Wiki) has achievements to... achieve. So there is that as well for those who like earning those. And it may even have Steam trading cards, but I am not too sure.

It is either free or extremely cheap, so I'd recommend it. Shows how games were controversial in the day. This being, as far as I know, really one of the first to be set on by the media. This however is not to be confused with Postal Redux which is a remake of this, that is not free. And also for Postal 3, which I have heard and even Running with Scissors claims is a Bastard child of the series and should not even be considered part of their work, as they had given it to another developer to finish it and it turned out... bad... watch Civvie 11 Postal review for that. Anyway, enjoy!
