Its ok.

Its very well developed and has a ton of depth. But this also comes at a cost of everything being a bit Overdone. Like trying to play a Squad Leader for the first time is annoying to get absolutely pounded with so much information at once. Like, that's cool.... you can mark for specific vehicle and infantry types. But cmon, i don't care. i just want to tell my guys there's dudes over there, not who they are, what they're holding... etc etc.

Dont take this as "that means the game is bad!!". I am simply saying that most of the UI is full of absolute junk, at least from the point of view of a new player. Its totally overwelming.

But once you get a hang of everything, it gets easier.

Its a good game, just very complicated.

If you want a more simplifed and straight forward experience, please Look into Squad 44. Its squad.. but... World War 2. its underrated..

Laugh as 90% of your team swarms a single point as one single hivemind, as you flank around the map and wipe the enemy team with a 20mm Auto cannon. Lmao.

Almost $20 for a game that feels like its worth $5. maybe $10 at most.

Sorry, this is a game that has clearly gotten a lot of love from its dev, but if the focus is modding, maybe make the customization options a little easier for a playerbase who is obviously going to be using mods like theyre going out of style.

I love modding, i spend hours trying to get mods working, its fun!! But having to configure mods for each different match you want to play is tedious and just takes way too long.

Now if the matches were absolutely mind blowingly fun, this wouldn't be an issue at all. But its all just kind of... mediocre.

I'm sure this game just didn't suit my tastes, so that's fine if you love it. But I'm not big on it...

Its a really decent game that's been getting a lot of love from he Developers since its initial release (which was pretty bare bones from memory).

But oh my god, I wish this love went into Optimization, because this game runs like DOG!!! Absolute dog.

An enemy appears? 2fps!! a bullet flies past? horrible audio stuttering.

I can run VR in high graphics, with a decent FPS. But I can barely play a game released like... 3 years ago now? really??

Same devs as Company of heroes, so it plays similar to it. But wayyy more fun.

Dawn of War 1 is quite simply better than any of its sequels due to the gameplay being a wonderful mix of base building and advancing your forces through tiers. Its fun, and very challenging.

Now, if you want to get this game up to more modern standards? Unification mod is great, Its a bit of an annoying download, but its a must have.

Its looking great so far!! But I will instantly say that Eerie 1 was a lot more fun. E2 feels like its trying to be a default sorta Call of duty game? i guess? whatever First person shooter the kids these days play.

I honestly wish Eerie 1 got more content, i really adored the vibe of it, and the simple game play combined with some excellent gun play and customization. And personally, i think that being locked to 3rd person was cooler than 1st person. Playing the game in 1st person only makes me feel like i'm playing Garry's Mod or something. I don't like it.

I REALLY DON'T LIKE THE SHOE TRADING LOL, i feel like its some sorta weird thing... like i'm sure its to keep things more unique?? but The trading system in E1 was really good!! You got loot!! you sold loot! you killed someone! You got money!! Then you'd gamble the money on crates! It was cool!

Now i'm walking around taking shoes off dead women???? like excuse me?? weird as hell lmfao.

As of now, E2 is already pretty big, bigger than E1. Which really sucks to be honest. E1 could still be something to expand on.... EERIE 1 is something i really adore!! so to see it get left behind, for E2?? that sucks man.

While i understand Eerie 2 is going to be quite expansive on its own, i still cant help but look back on the first game very fondly.

I'd recommend buying EERIE 1 first, then coming back afterwards. Both are very well made games for what they are. Don't expect extreme detail and polish akin to other games. Its a good game.

***1.0 UPDATE***
v------------------v

Mostly everything remains the same... the game still feels like super modded Garry's mod, or something like that. Which is a shame, since I really liked how combat felt in E1.

Here's some sparknotes on what I saw during my 1.0 tryout.

-The transaction menu is weird, and looks really bad. It works, it just looks and feels gross.

-Inventory management suffers the same fate, the UI is gross and feels weird. Loading bullets into mags is cool, but everything else is weird.

-The whole "Mmm collect shoes and get money (:" thing still exists, I figured with the implementation of actual money, this weird feature would be gone.. but.. here we are... taking shoes off dead women. Ok.

-Most of the item icons take a few seconds to load in, this is a bit of a whiney gripe, but... the placeholders are glowing green cubes. So its a bit jarring.

-Most of the character animations look... not so good. Again, in E1, I feel like this was done way better?? Maybe I'm just delusional?

-When you start a mission, there will be AI militia to assist you. This is badass, making battles feel like proper battles. Only issue is that i found the AI would outnumber and wipe out the Enemy forces before I even made it to the frontline, causing me to instantly turn around, and walk 200m back to the Task Giver, just for her to be like "yeah go back, and kill more noobs lul", rinse and repeat.

-Which leads to my final note, that its just really boring. You walk back and forth, just to get told "yeah i want you to literally go back to where you were, and continue killing people." Like come on, I was JUST there, WHY did you make me walk ALL the way back here (Dont bother telling me theres the ATV, thats just a lazy ""fix"" to this issue), just to do the same exact thing i was already doing. Its really boring, and feels super slow and lame. Just tell me "ok, kill everyone in that direction, don't come back til you've made significant progress."

So yeah, EERIE 2 is really underwelming despite feeling like it SHOULD be LEAGUES better than E1. I feel like nothing was learned, and E1 is just totally thrown under the rug for some reason. Maybe the dev is going to keep working on everything?? i wish them the best of luck, I cant imagine i could EVER do any better with making games. So bravo to them.

I just, really wish E1 got more love, and more content, rather than jumping into a totally new game, with everything being ripped up and changed.

Sorry for yapping. i just really like this series, and I want to see it grow and prosper.

I really LOVE this game.

For starters, its leagues better than Hell Let Loose. There should really be NO competition. This game rocks. I couldn't compare it to Squad, since i don't play it... But i can only imagine they're VERY similar.

The only downside would be that there is only really around 1-2 full servers up at a time, while 75% of the other servers are usually empty. Which is a huge shame. So either expect to play in servers with 1-5 people. or have to wait in a queue.

But honestly that's not a big deal.. as long as more people start realizing how dog-water Hell Let Loose really is?? then I'm sure more people will start coming to this game.

Its very time consuming, and I love it.

I've always wanted a game where I could have my own aircraft, boat, spaceship, etc, where i could freely walk away from the controls and walk around to do other things on the ship. I've played space engineers, which was too complicated for me to really enjoy the game play sadly.

Stormworks really does a nice job of keeping things simple, while also having the ability to make complex designs. And even then, you don't even have to make your own creations. The workshop offers an ocean of various vehicles to use.

The only downside being that there's really no way to speed up any travel time. Which makes long distance Boating extremely tedious to do all the time. But thats okay, I usually just alt tab to do other things while i traverse the ocean.

Why should anyone have to pay $10 for bots??? That should literally be included in the game, its honestly ridiculous in every sense.
