Unfortunately, the online is not what you hope for when it comes to a modern fighter; however, JJBA ASBR is one of the best fighting games I've had the luxury of playing as of recent. The cool factor of the JoJo IP is great, and the gameplay is definitely good at low levels for some easy fun. I believe this games shines when you decide to delve in a little bit into its combo system. Being able to cancel from modes to extend combos allows players to get the most out of characters' movesets. The combos aren't incredibly excessive in varied inputs if you choose, but you can really see the growth and achievement that comes with the game. Every character manages to hold distinction in their playstyle which is a large achievement on a roster of this magnitude. Another point that is important to get across is that this is not your standard anime arena fighter. Not Storm 4 (Naruto), not Hinokami Chronicles (DS), and not A Hero Nobody Knows (OPM) which I view as a good thing. This 2.5D fighter style that is championed by games like Tekken does a great job expressing the value of the game's neutral, while giving some characters wacky ways to engage that is common in the anime fighter scene. Whether you are from Guilty Gear or Street Fighter alike, this game is an interesting step outside of your comfort zone that I hope you are likely to enjoy. Definitely a labor of love that I hope will receive more support as time marches on.
