very good story, if only it wasnt a budget title, they could have given it way much better pacing and deeper character development for everyone.

Pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good not gonna lie

Lots of mechanical depth, very well written story and characters, intriguing lore, solid combat mechanics, solid stealth. It's just another solid Arkane game but with a twist in it's environemental storytelling that creates new ways to approach mechanical engagements.

The artistic direction as per usual with Arkane is off the charts good, the music is also very well chosen and it has a very unique atmosphere.

9/10 tbh

This review is updated, i have left the original one below from years ago when the game was released to a rock bottom so depressing, the mentally ill seemed sane.

After nearly 2 to 3 years of updating the game, overhyping fixes and changes to claim fame where none was to be had, exciting a nonexistent fanbase with features previous titles had, i can actually consider this title to be much better, actually enjoyable, somewhat rewarding but still depressing.

The game might be much more interesting, fixed and polished, i will not remove my negative review because accountability should be held for charging people upwards of a 100$ CAD for a bare minimum of a playable experience (if not less... much, much less...). No Man's Sky gets a pass for freely improving itself over nearly a decade and garnering positive reception, but this mentality of release of now and fix it later that studios learnt was possible thanks to that story, is not only insulting, it completely misses the mark on why it worked with Hello Games.

You may buy this title of 5$ on a third party retailer website or a garbage bin at a decrepit Gamestop, but don't be fooled, this remains a bad game, and forever will be no matter the changes done to it.

False promises and lengthy wait times for minimal results after paying quality ensuring prices is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ abysmal for lack of better words.

Old Review

this was free, and i still don't recommend it

i played two normal conquest matches, hated them, operators still suck and are terrible design choices, and because of them teamwork doesn't exist. 128 players? might as well be 32, the maps are massive! and EMPTY. Destruction is dumbed down from even BF4, vehicles handle like garbage, sandbox elements are for the most part gone. I wish people who said "but every battlefield game launches with bugs and look at them now" realized bugs are 2042's last issue on the list.

i went to portal and logged onto a hardcore server with actual classes and teamwork, had fun, then realized i could save 80$ and play BF4 and BF1 instead...

I played this game during closed and open betas, and i feel robbed of my time in both of those, and especially since the full release is about as bad as those tests. I figured why not give it a shot, they patched some balance stuff and added HUD elements that were useful in BF3 and 4 that help with the flow of the game. Maybe they're on the right track!

Yeah no this is a lost cause, if they have to rely on Portal to attract a fanbase, while making a circus of the main game using terrible Siege style operators that break the flow of combat greatly and maps that are just unfun to play on, this is just a lost cause and BF is probably going to start getting overshadowed by AA or Indie dev tactical or Arcade Tacticool shooters like Squad or Insurgency, especially since one of those is coming to console.

Halo Infinite is a complicated subject.

On one hand, the game has a very strong foundation.
It has the art style and visual identity of Halo, it has music that sounds like Halo but with fresh tracks that explore new ideas while remaining on theme. The game play is tight, responsive and modern, but respects the core tenets of Halo's loop and systems, while also adding some QoL features, and new tools to add to the available arsenal.

Forge mode is strong, strongest it's ever been, and continues to get better.

The Campaign is ok at best however. It's fun, sure, but it lacks spectacle, it lacks suspense and intrigue. There's little to no drama like the originals, or even Halo 4! Its open world is there in spite of a decent campaign, not enhancing it. It's a hodgepodge of decent ideas but hardly developed or explored. And don't get me started on the lack of COOP at launch...

But on the other hand of this, it took 4 years to get a game i would consider sellable. Not only that, but it took a complete restructure of 343 down to a complete rebranding. And still, compared to other games, genuine game changing, or even modes and features that were available at launch in older titles, are still missing. It's much better now, like very much better! I'll admit it!

But 4 years... at a 90$ CAD price tag. Outrageous.

The kicker though? They promised us 10 years of Halo Infinite, 10 years of stories, of content and features. I have yet to hear about expansions or DLC's. But every tuesday there's new 20$ items in the shop!

And here they are talking about making a new Halo game already. On a brand new engine.

Shame on me for being fooled a 3rd time by 343, but you stealing 90$ of my wallet and abandoning the game after claiming 10 years of support is genuinely heartbreaking. You are the masters of bad decisions, you can't even get a decent Halo show going in an era of good video game adaptations.

PS: Unreal Engine won't save you, your poor management and refusing to hire and keep staff will always result in your failure.

So imagine releasing Forza Horizon 4 in 2018, starting it off with a massive amount of content:
- Aprox~ 5 race types (dirt rally, street race etc...)
- Open world collectable stunts ( speed traps, jumps, pannel crashes, drift zones, drag races)
- 3 massive MP modes
- A player market and auction house
- Weekly rotation seasonal content and challenges with new rewards and ways to get them every time
- 400 cars at launch

And then you spend three years improving that with:
- Community race track creator
- Super7 mode (community race track event organizer that rewards players playing it and players who made the track, backed and supported by the devs)
- A battle royale with cars (not necessary but welcome nonetheless
- A whopping ~150 if not more cars
- New open world content
- New official races and tracks
- Expansions

AND THEN!!!! You release Forza Horizon 5! Which has ALL OF THIS AND MORE AT LAUNCH WITH:
- Amazing sound design of recorded whopping **350** unique engines!!!
- Expanded car customization and tuning!!! (and i really mean expanded)
- MORE CARS
- Massive visual overhaul with minor performance cost compared to FH4!!!
- An even bigger map with more varied environment!
- A refined and expanded coop/MP experience!!!
- Seamless crossplay on par with MCC Halo and Sea of Thieves if not better!
- Improved handling and kinetic connection between input and visual feedback!
- More unique handlings for varied vehicles!!!!
- A licensed soundtrack compiling a varied collection of bomb ass music!! (not including the rather pretty and fresh original soundtrack of the game itself!!)
- AN EVEN MORE IMPROVED PLAYER CUSTOM RACE TRACK CREATOR (like im talking having access to assets from the main game with scripting tools like devs would use to make cool race tracks, but like even more so we can make tracks resembling the FH3 Hotwheels expansion!)
- An apparently improved community market (yet to be seen since this review is from early access where not all MMO-like components are active)

So if you ask me, for once IGN is right, this game really is Turn 10 and Playground Games at their peak of not only racing game design, but just game design in general. Considering this is what the game is launching with? And the series's and Studio's track record of adding to their game with definitely not underwhelming content (almost always free other than the paid expansions which are on another level of their own too), i can only see this game becoming one of the best, if it already isnt, racing games out there.

it's ok, battlefield 1 is very much better though. teamplay is less prevalent here, sandbox is somewhat underwhelming, weapon customization is very much not good. Maps that are from Vanilla and not Pacific DLC are underwhelming in design and almost sometimes unfun to play on. The pacific maps play like BF1 maps, and it's funny because it makes them more fun to play.
