I love this game. Its cute, scratches a spacey itch, and if overall pretty fun. However, there are a LOT of issues with it on the game side and the developer side. To start, the game by itself is pretty generic and kind of meh. Has a boring gameplay loop and everything generated just blends together. No planet has its own real identity since there are only like 11 different planet types. I would not play this game vanilla. There is a mod though, called Frackin Universe that fixes the vast majority of this games issues. Adds tons of research trees and actual post game content. Its alot more complicated, but the only way to play this. Then, on the developer side. I didn't learn this til recently, but man SCREW Chucklefish. Most of the labor used to produce this game was unpaid. They'd hire interns under the premise of getting their foot in the door for a full time positions, not pay them, then fire them. The practices that went on here are not only awful, but are also probably the reason the game is half baked. None of the systems are fully filled out, and this is likely why.

7.5/10 with Frackin Universe

This game is awesome, story driven, and intricate. I cannot think of a game that has a more powerful atmosphere. As you play you can feel the pain, the suffering, and the cold. Incredible.

This game is amazing. I'm a big fan of survival games and developing colonies and such in games. Not to the level of city builders, those aren't fun for me. But this is the perfect mix. I purchased the game 4 days ago for 30 bucks, and have since played 46 hours. The character stats and traits are super in depth, and the progression trees of the game are also good. The colonists can be a bit stupid sometimes but you can also control them manually or download a mod that makes their priorities better. Absolutely recommend this game.

This game launches through origin which is already trash, it has awful frame rate issues with random stutters. 200 to 2 frames and back to 200. It destablizes while you play it and the parkour just doesn't function sometimes. Its lackluster at best, the parkour is pretty boring as its pretty linear for an open world. Sure you can spend hours trying to figure out the best ways to get to each separated zone, but theres only one or two ways into each. Wouldn't recommend.

The game is great, tons of fun and a great take on the survival zombie genre. The homes and special locations in the world are set up like dungeons giving you the option to go through them linearly or however you wish since the game is a sandbox. The developers update it often and are constantly trying to improve it Alpha 18 is wonderful and what they have mentioned about Alpha 19 sounds great. Would recommend. Decent learning curve and tons of fun.
