Well, this was just depressing.

World War II but anime, basically.

For a more in-depth review, let's just say it's on par- or better- than the original Valkyria Chronicles in battle, story, and graphics. Music is about the same considering about half of the operations in this game use music from the original, including but not limited to (using the more popular names): Desperate Fighting, Decise Battle, Final Decisive Battle, Battle, and more.

Gameplay is better than the original, adding a brand new class known as the Grenadier, using a portable mortar (that Lancer's can use something similar to it with a special weapon upgrade), which can be turned into Anti-Personnel (low accuracy but one shots most infantry), Standard (can slightly damage tanks and is pretty good against infantry), Anti-Armor (good against both, but is only good for tanks when hitting the radiator late game and really only one-shots scouts late game).

Story is about on par, but h ol y ♥♥♥♥ chapter 16 is a god at making me cry similar to, uh, Chapter 11 I think in the original? (You know which one I'm referring to if you played the original). However, this game features a lot more anime tropes than the original did, but at the same time, shows what people would do in the wars occasionally.

Graphics have returned to their roots back from the original Valkyria, using a very similar art style.

overall 11/10 game and more post-game content too
