At first I thought of this game as a watered down version of 7 days to die, but could not have been any more wrong. The story is a actually good and the game has a lot more to offer especially in singleplayer.

Devs more focused on the battlepass and skins rather than improving upon the actual game.

Edit: To explain this more clearly, after the July update, we have got some new stuff, but the thing is that before this, season 1 ran for 80 days, and in those 2 and a half months, we had no new content updates except new store items and that was it. People finished the battlepass in just 1 month, and then had to wait for another month for something new. Add to the fact that people also did not like the idea of rotating modes, and the ranked mode being solo only, the interest slowly started to dissipate. Hence the reviews changing from Positive to Mostly Positive, and now Mixed. Now, does this mean is the game bad? Nope, it is the most fun I had in a br in a very long time. Its very unique and the vertically adds new challenges to it. However, you cannot expect people to not leave when you do nothing during the game's first 2 months of release. People will try it in the beginning, but with no new content, after completing the bp, they will eventually migrate towards other already established and free brs which have weekly minor content updates like warzone, apex, etc. This is not the dev's fault either, they are a small team. However, that is not enough for the players.
With the July update however, they did add some much needed changes that should have been there since the beginning, but I see that it is still not enough to bring even 50% of the playerbase back. The ones that are back, they only play tdm, and all the br modes are practically abandoned. It sucks, but penetrating the br market, especially as an indie team, is just very hard now with these big AAA publishers that can put millions in their brs. I hope that the playerbase changes their minds and comes back. The game is fun and has potential.

Good game, but the battlepass grind is horrendous, and so is the monetization system.
