Don't understand all the hate for Remnant 2 DLCs, it is just more of the same Remnant 2 that is rated 83% positive. Anyway, my positive review.

Damn, I was not aware that the last DLC received such a horrid reception. People who complain that they liked original game and other DLCs but this one for some reason is absolutely horrible is beyond my understanding. For me it is literally more of the same + some cosmetic additions like glider and prism.

It doesn't affect anything in main gameplay loop, so I don't care about it much. The same goes for prism. It gives you some boost, but it is completely optional, people have beaten this game on all difficulties without prism before, can't see how prism would become such a crucial point for progression now. It required a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of grind on release and had ruthless conditions for reroll in case of bad RNG, yes, but they patched it in literally next patch after release.

I sensed distinct presence of unmet expectations in negative reviews. But you should ask yourself why did you have those to begin with. Especially considering price of the DLC. Did you want Blood and Wine, Old Hunters and Phantom Liberty for ten bucks? Some publishers sell cosmetics for higher price smh

Early Access -arvostelu
Very promising game. It can be 10 to 100 hours experience even in early access, depending of player preferences. If you want to see everything game has to show, it can be done in 10 hours. But if you apply more imaginative approach by setting your own goals play time will grow to undefined X number of hours.

I personally see 2 main ways to play this game: with conflicts, like rival lords, bandits, raids, and without - when you focus completely on building up your fief with no external threats. I find peaceful gameplay preferable, chilling and satisfying experience.

To be honest I don't see much sense in playing with battles due to how early these threats start. To grow your village to certain size is difficult enough, to build a viable militia in parallel is even harder. That early even impossible. Even if you will have all gear and money in the world, you won't have people to wear that gear. Also you need influence to claim neighboring lands, but before the point you are able to save 1000 influence to claim single area, whole map will be claimed already by your rivals.

Dropped once on release after several hours. Decided to try again. Still unbearable. Main character constantly unable to overcome door thresholds. In a game about movement. Enemies spawning out of thin air, especially bombers. Actions that lock you in animations take eternity. And of course while you're locked in animation, enemies around you are not. Volatiles from time to time do not despawn with coming of night in dark zones. Slopes so slippery that one would think someone lubricated them. Zombies have no problems attacking you on those slopes while all you can do is peacefully slide down or struggle in epileptic dance. Car trunks randomly non-interactive for lockpicking. You need to stand on top of the car in order to catch that sweetspot and press F.

Cheap jumpscares when you are the most vulnerable. Zombies shrieking on the background on lockpicking chests. When you realize that there're no actual zombies in vicinity, and that was simple audio effect queued in convenient moment to build tension, it starts to feel pathetic. I mean, if you want to build tension, spawn zombie enemies. It would also be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, annoying and unfair, but at least I wouldn't feel like I'm in some school project ghost house. I would treat the world and it's dangers seriously.

NPCs are just... strange, as well as world building, everything feels fake. I'll try to unlock more mechanics and maybe game will redeem itself, but as for now, it tests my patience on 90% and provides entertainment on 10%.

Liked very much the first game aesthetics and gameplay. Worlds are extremely unique, vibe is great. Better than first game. Basically this one is the same only a bit better in every department. Pleasant addition is the amount of secrets. It seems like each location has at least something interesting hidden whether it is a puzzle, locked room, illusory wall, etc.

Boss fights though still have ads, but considerably less. Which is appreciated. Great variety of guns and trinkets, which are fun to collect. Relics (healing stone) now have variations that opens a room for more precise build crafting. Classes very distinct, easy to find something that suits your preferences.

Game is a bit low on currency drops, but it is merely a way of making people to reroll adventure mode (randomly generated only finished during campaign separate worlds outside of main campaign context) and see other variations of finished worlds. If you do adventure mode in parallel to campaign, money will never be an issue. At first I was hesitant to break campaign progression with adventure mode, but eventually became convinced that it is one of the best parts of the game and the most fun way to play. You don't have to go only straight with campaign, branch and see what else is there also nice approach.

Those 65 hours include one of the worlds covered 90%, and the rest of the worlds covered 30-60%. So there's still plenty to do in the game after final boss finished. Mainly rerolling adventure mode.

Melee seems much more redundant this game because of the amount of flying mobs and bosses. You can still use melee pretty often but won't be able to limit yourself to melee only. It wasn't very prominent in the first game as well but here it seems even less reliable pick.

Final boss is better than it was in first game but still pretty garbage. I guess it is a tradition at this point. You can't see ♥♥♥♥, constrained to evade a lot, fast and precisely when some button combinations sometimes simply don't work when used too fast. Not something you can afford in that fight.

Story as was in first game quite lackluster. Some world building stuff you could find via NPCs can be exciting, but overarching story could be as well absent and game wouldn't lose much. Ending is not even funny, it's just the same as absent.

Played on RTX 2070 Super, DLSS Performance 1440p, had 45-90 fps depending on location. On average it was 60 most of the time so have nothing to complain for here. Could be better, but what I've got was quite tolerable. I assume with patches it can become better due to the environmental impact which should not be that difficult to fix. Tweak some locations and all is good.

Fantastic weapons variety, probably best I've ever seen in a videogame. Weapons very different thus you are playing almost different game every time you switch. Taking into consideration that the game is huge you could multiply it by number of weapons and imagine what enormous value game has for it's price. Monsters variety as well very rich. Game world is beautiful and gives great vibes. It is objectively great game that you should at least try.

Now negatives, because I'm quite burnt out at the moment and have some cons to share. For a game that emphasises on precision and methodical approach to each hunt there's a lot of randomness to encounter. Hitboxes very often are questionable. Some monsters skills leave you nothing left to do except just to stay there in a corner and wait until effect wears off. You will be upset, disappointed and quite frankly enraged very often with this game. Better to prepare for it mentally early. Learning curve is there, it is quite steep and even if you master game mechanics to some degree it will never be enough to feel safe and confident.

Materials farming ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ more or less bearable on low and high rank, but on master rank for some hunts it becomes absolutely unbearable. Why materials have random chance to drop? Literally each horned monster has horns, why the F I'm unable to get horns from a slayed monster? Even when I break the head. Absolutely unnecessary pachinkofication of the game. Player forced to farm annoying, busted monsters, sometimes with absolute cancer abilities in order to get needed gear. If I find some monster encounter fun to re-run I'll do this by my own volition, I don't need to be forced, game. Especially I don't need to be forced to feel annoyance.

There are people with thousands of hours in a game still unable to gather all decorations they would like to obtain. Good for those players who prefers to be motivated this way, I'm not one of them. I hate games that treat you like a donkey chasing a carrot. It can be acceptable to some extent, but thousand of hours? No, thank you.

The only reason I'm not leaving negative review after all those claims is because game felt ok before master rank, but last couple of dozens of hours soured my attitude severely. So I try to stay objective as possible and recommend it with warning about some points that could be not a problem for some players.

So tldr: game is fun, with dlc probably will be even better, great atmosphere and balance but you should be aware of potential feel of repetitiveness after act 3 and confusing boss mechanics.

Haven't played first one. This one seems like typical roguelike. First three out of five acts are rather engaging and fun, but later two feel very repetitive. Currently on act five and I'm not even sure whether I'm gonna finish the game or drop right here. Unlocked all heroes, gear, items. Fought all enemies variations. Literally nothing left to unveil except the final boss.

Another downside for me personally is boss design. Maybe it comes with being a new to the series but I felt like bosses designed to crush your first attempts unconditionally until you gather better gear and skills, most of which are supposed to be unlocked with progression. Eventually you succeed of course but it feels like it never really your victory as a player, but game just letting you win with help of all that shiny borderline OP gear you were eventually able to obtain.

Some bosses mechanics are completely counter-intuitive. I give you 75% chance that you will feel an urge to google stuff in order to progress. You pass multiple areas and mini-bosses but final act boss almost always nothing you've seen before so you have no frame of reference how to interpret what's happening on the screen. Maybe it's better for people familiar with first game, I'm just sharing my personal experience.

Music becomes repetitive as well, on act 4 I muted game soundtrack and continued to play with my own music on the background. Haven't ever done it before in a first playthrough of a game, but maybe it's just nature of a roguelike genre. First playthrough often means a lot of retries of the same content over and over again.

Atmosphere and art design are very immersive and overall great. Characters design is interesting and all of them feel pretty balanced. You can progress with many different squad composition variations except the ones that don't make any sense of course. Some reasonable roles distribution should be applied to the heroes selection.

As a video game in general a bit above average. As a HP video game is pretty good. Story is meh, couple of interesting side-quests and that's it. Mostly game delivers some fun via side activities. And let's be honest most of the people play this exclusively for HP vibes and not innovative mechanics or even engaging story.

It provides exactly that and exactly to the level of quality to satisfy majority of the players. Art design and execution are top-notch. Plus, for an AAA release nowadays it is pretty polished. Frames could go up and down occasionally but nothing major really and at this point it's probably already fixed with patches.
