Get a thick cut salmon fillet, brush it with lemon juice, and season with salt, pepper, and garlic on all sides.

Preheat a skillet on med-high, adding a neutral flavored oil until it starts shimmering, then, after lowering the heat to medium, place the salmon skin side down for 4 minutes, then proceeding to flip over to let the other side cook for an additional 4 minutes until it has reached your desired level of doneness, the cook times may vary depending on your stove, but as long as the fish reaches 145 degrees you should be good to go! I find it is best enjoyed with yellow rice, but it is good to experiment to see what suits you best <3
