Churro Recipe
1 cup water

2 ½ tablespoons white sugar

½ teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 quarts oil for frying

½ cup white sugar, or to taste

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions
Combine water, 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in a small saucepan and place over medium heat. Bring to a boil and remove from the heat. Stir in flour, stirring until mixture forms a ball.

Heat oil for frying in a deep fryer or deep pot to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Transfer the dough to a sturdy pastry bag fitted with a medium star tip. Carefully pipe a few 5- to 6-inch strips of dough into the hot oil; work in batches so you don't crowd the fryer. Cook until golden; use a spider or slotted spoon to transfer churros to paper towels to drain.

Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll drained churros in cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Ingredient

1 cup shortening

1 ½ cups white sugar

2 eggs

2 ¾ cups sifted all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

½ teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons white sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

Step 2
In a medium bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until well blended.

Step 3
In a small shallow bowl, stir together the 2 tablespoons of sugar with the cinnamon. Roll the dough into walnut sized balls and roll the balls in the sugar mixture. Place cookies 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Cookies should be slightly golden at the edges. Remove to cool on wire racks.
