Writing this review right after finishing the game. I could edit this review in time after playing more, we'll see.

TLDR; THIS GAME F*%^ING ROCKS. EXTREMELY FUN AND ONE OF THE BEST GAMES I'VE PLAYED IN A WHILE IMO.

Let me start off my saying this is an unbiased review, previously I have never played a Team Reptile game, the only game of theirs I have seen was Lethal League which I saw very little of. As a kid I owned Skate 3 on the Xbox 360 but I personally was never really into it and don't have many memories on it. I never played the Tony Hawk games, and I haven't played Jet Set Radio.

I'll start off with the [[GAMEPLAY]]. The games movement feels extremely fluid and is very satisfying. Performing tricks and keeping a combo up fills my brain with a dopamine rush I can't find anywhere else, the amount of tricks you are able to do isn't as wide variety and complex as other similar games but it makes up for it with the boostpack. The boostpack is an amazing mechanic which provides a boost and a thrust allowing for extended combos and access to areas otherwise unreachable. Next main part of the gameplay is the graffiti, around the zones there are yellow animated boxes which when interacted with bring up a graffiti interface where you the player connect dots of different shapes to make difference types of graffiti. There are ALOT of different shape combinations for different graffiti designs, that of which you can memorise the patterns for, which I like. :)

Next is the [[MUSIC and SOUND DESIGN]], and oh boy is it good.
The music in this game fits INCREDIBLY WELL, and is masterfully made, I didn't turn the musics volume down once at all throughout the whole game, I loved almost all the tracks, some exceptions to "loving" them although I still liked them. The amount of sampling and recognisable sounds, beats, and quips within some of the songs is excellent, it got a few reactions out of me when I heard something I recognised. The sound effects for player action fits well and sounds satisfying (especially the skateboard!). The voice acting is also a nice touch, it gives the characters life instead of just being bodies with text boxes even though they don't speak sentences.

THE [[CHARACTER DESIGN/ART]] IS PHENOMENAL.
The designers for the characters in this game are extremely talented, I think all of the crews designs are fantastic. I appreciate how every crew has its unique set of graffiti and kudos to the artists who drew them.
I love how each character has 4 styles the player can choose from, and each form of transport has many different redesigns and recolours, making the experience customisable.

The [[COMBAT]]?
Unfortunately I do believe that BRC's "combat" is probably my least favourite part of the game. It isn't terrible by any means and very well works as its intended, it is just very simple and not very satisfying. You have 3 basic attacks that do the same thing effectively, and jump attacks which can launch cops into the air which can be combo'd with a in my own words "Graffiti Glory Kill" where you spray graffiti on them shooting them fair away, which is actually pretty cool and humorous. The boss fights in this game are, pretty easy. The first few boss fights are pretty basic, and a bit further through the game and the bosses become pretty cool looking but are still pretty easy to beat.

The [[STORY]]... (spoiler free)
The story honestly isn't bad for the worlds its set in, BRC's story isn't the best story to date by any means but I liked it enough and understood the plot points very well but I have the impression other people might find the game lacking good story and being more gameplay focused, which is fine and fair.

I would really recommend this game too anyone who has the money to buy it and is looking for something new to play or enjoys the genre. I have had alot of fun with it and see myself playing more of it in the future, and by the hopeful looks at it (based on in game dialogue), there will be more content to come.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is my new current favourite game and Team Reptile deserves every amount of praise they are getting, support them, get yourself a copy, trust me, you won't regret it.
